- Continuing my series of my Halloween Species Showcase, I present the Brachypelma boehmei or Mexican Fire Leg. Brilliant orange and deep black is the reason why I chose this species.

Why is it that tarantula's and skulls go so well together? 😁😍 thx for the cool footage.
Reda Acheache ha! Yeah they do look cool with skulls as a backdrop. Must be because we’re used to seeing them in horror movies. 🤓👍🏼
The Dark Den would have a good answer for that lol
Great video dude!
the Tarantula Collective thanks man! Probably one of my shortest! 😂
Always top notch content ! We love these Halloween showcases!
Your tarantula’s are cool brother...I’ll be ordering my Mexican fire leg today🔥gonna set up the tank in a few👍🏻
I’m getting one this weekend 🤘🏼thanks for sharing
Net-tasha is absolutely gorgeous!! such a beautiful specimen! Or specialady in ur case, her colours wow!! cheers for sharing her with us. She looks so happy and healthy strolling around.
Great video alex! I must say these are my favourite pick from the brachyoelma genus for colouration. Great info in the vudeo dude and i agree Andrew Smith is a legend 😁🤘🤘
What a beautiful Tarantula ‼️ Shes so graceful when she walks around 😊
Ah, on that pronounciation issue... boehmei is a re-latinized form of the german last name Böhme (meaning someone from bohemia). And as that, best approach might be german pronounciation. The german letter 'ö' is not equal to english 'o' or 'oh' but a sound like the 'u' in words like 'hurt' 'murder' 'burn' etc. Same goes for the schroederi :D
Love the Halloween music in the background
Diego Hernandez thanks! Trying to give a creepy Halloween vibe even though this T is a sweetheart and the furthest thing from creepy. At least to me. 😂
Tarantula Haven definitely gave it a good Halloween feel! And with corona ruining every holiday, it was exceptionally good👍 made my day
Another one of my favourite brachys! Got a young Male and a young female! Love em! Awesome T-shirt dude! 🤘🏼🤘🏼💜
Thanks! awesome species! I have one of these...a sling...very spunky right now!
Great video 😊. I love Boehmei too they are gorgeous. I have a Brachypelma emilia juvenile.
My Boehmei is a small sling & climbs on my hand when I'm doing water or maintenance. I really think he knows I'm no threat.
He does like to climb & gets a big round abdomen easily so you are definitely correct there.
Your Spideys are beautiful xx
Great video as always
Thank you Channy. :)
hello good morning great videos keep up the good work
Good morning to you! Thank you. :)
Stunning spider awesome footage buddy
Thanks Steve! :)
Love your intro music its really erie sounding one of my favorite you tube intros right up there with the tarantula collective and dark den nice T also I have a B.hammorii cant wait till it gets that big great video as always
Thanks! Yeah Dark Den & Tarantula Collective have the best intro music. I still haven't found something I'm totally happy with. XD
Love the species-specific video! Now I have to get a B. boehmei sling for my collection, they are gorgeous
mariaVTCgirl must have if you’re keeping new world terrestrials in my opinion. 🤓👍🏼🕷
Oh Alex, she's GORGEOUS!!! 😍 And I love your reasoning on the pronunciation as well. 😊
Thank you. Yes. It only makes sense. Pronunciations drive me nuts until I find something I'm comfortable with. XD
dope
I do like this species the boehmei 🕷🕸
Wow she is beautiful and the color is perfect for your Halloween videos. Can't wait for the next one.
GOD BLESS and have a great day.
Thank you. The next one is gonna give me fits I just know it!
Gorgeous girl. I do love my Brachypelma/Tliltocatl genus, though most of mine (including my boehmei) are still in the s'ling stage.
I do believe my boehmei is on the list among a few others for it's first outgrown-enclosure rehouse very soon. Cannot wait until it is really starts to show some of that gorgeous coloration in another couple of molts time.
Rik Robinson they’re kinda slow to grow but they do out on color pretty quick. By about 3 inches it’ll look like an adult. Maybe not quite as brilliant but you’ll definitely see the color.
Watched it on Patreon and now I’m watching it again- can’t help myself!
angielovesowls 😊🔥🔥🔥
Hmmm, strangely fascinating. I have to say, still hate creepy crawly things but this was a great vid!
Just discovered you via the Tarantula Collective. Me gustó mucho tu video y voy a venir seguido a tu canal a ver qué nos enseñas!
Thank you so much! Muchas gracias amigo! 🤓👍🏼
I see we had similar ideas about naming our Boehmeis... Mine, and my first ever T, is named MJ.
I can’t wait till I get my Mexican fire leg I’ve ordered a juvenile one
Hi Alex, great to see another upload, beautiful shots. As far as I know the correct pronunciation of latin is lost and subject to speculation and so there is no real right and wrong because we just don't realy know and everyxthing is an aproximation. When we get to the speciesname it's another thing, because like the baumgarteni it is often/sometimes the name of the person that discribed it. But I think that the latter is kind of widely known. Pleasse correct me if I am wrong. *cheers!* :)
Christoph Hager you’re absolutely correct. In fact Andrew Smith pretty much says it in one of his videos that it’s your preference how you pronounce it but the important thing is that you’re using the scientific names over common names so I’m good with that. And yes, Baumgarteni is named after a person. 🤓👍🏼
@@TarantulaHaven Thank you Alex for confirming, these days it is hard to differentiate between objective truth and hearsay. :)
My first order of ts contained a b boehmei sling, a b hamorii sling and a juvenile tliltocatl albopilosus. My boehmei is just now showing its colors 🖤 spicy lil thing
Alex she is gorgeous😍!!!! I agree with the pronunciation. It even sounds better. Tyfs God bless you
Thank you Debbie. :)
@@TarantulaHaven yw🙂
Sooo beautiful 😍🧡🖤🧡🖤🧡
Yes she is! Thank you JoJo!
This is my first tarantula!
Please, I have a T. ockerti... 99% of my living room atmosphere consists of urticating hair 😏. Beautiful species! I'm determined to get one this year!
cool
I also have that...but 1inch Boehmei 👌😂
6:38 A beautiful setting for a photo
Yeah. I used the part where both skulls are visible for my thumbnail. :)
B. boehmei was my 2nd Tarantula that I purchased over 10 years ago. At the time, it was a 1.5" unsexed juvie, but it turned out to be a female thankfully. Her name is Fluffy and she is generally well-mannered. Definitely a highlight of my small collection along with my B. hamorii. Stay safe and thanks for sharing :)
Luc Nadeau awesome. I love my girl. Also a highlight in my collection. 😊
loved the intro! was that a quote from someone specific? You had some amazing shots in there looked great man.
Yes. It is a quote from Jerry Smith. I should have posted that but I forgot. I've added it to the description. Thanks. :)
Just recently sent my male boehmei off to start his baby making journey with a great local breeder. Great species to work with. I currently have 8 brachy species, and boehmei was definitely one of the more skittish. But man, do they ever make up for it in looks.
Downside to brachy slings, though. They all look exactly alike for the first several molts. Don't feel too bad, I ended up with a really overpriced hamorii sling thinking I was buying a smithi ex.annitha. Live and learn. Keep up the great work, and keep on keepin.
Morgan Mc yeah about the slings. The guy I bought them from had several Brachy species. Fortunately at the time his boehmei were similarly priced to his auratum. I think the auratum were about $20 more. I’m good with it though. I already had 2 auratum and my male B. beohmei has died so at least I have another shot at a male. If not, they are so beautiful I don’t mind having another female. If my daughter’s turns out to be male I can hand it down to her. 🤓👍🏼
There ya go! Sounds like a solid plan. I have a 2.5" klassi that's in deep premolt, so I'm anxious to see it's new color, and see if I can snatch the exuvia and confirm that it's a fem. My fem. verdezi is burried in premolt, too. I have a lot of different species. New and old. But the Brachy's and Aphonopelmas have always been my favorites... such great display species.
Hi Alex,
My daughter and I absolutely LOVE the new video! Natasha is a gorgeous big girl. Even my mother was impressed with how laid back she is. If she ever produces an egg sack, I'd like to buy a female from you.
Awesome! Glad you liked it. Yes she is one of my most beloved pets. I don't think the pairing took because she should have made an egg sac by now. If you're in the market, my friend Amanda Beasley currently has them at a very low price! www.beasleyexotics.com/product-page/brachypelma-boehmei-mexican-fire-leg

the Tarantula Collective Yayuh! 😂💀💀
@@TarantulaHaven Hey! My two favourite tarantula guys, the OBT (orange beardy tuber) and the GBB (grey beardy bloke)!
❤️🖤❤️🖤❤️🖤❤️🖤❤️
Baumgarten is a common German surname :)
And I think Mr Smith has problems with our umlaut. Because the discoverer is called Günter not Gunter ;)
So maybe the spiders name is Böhmei (written without umlaut Boehmei)
Confusion complete *LOL*
Awesome. Thanks for the input. :)
I like the name lol
It is a beautiful name. :)
Hoping you can answer a question for me, when a seller says that it is 1/2" - 3/4" are they talking about the length of the T with the legs or just the torso and abdomen ? I'm asking cause I want to buy one but want to get the enclosure before hand so I have everything ready :)
That’s usually leg span. 1/2 - 3/4” are usually spiderling sizes.
@@TarantulaHaven ok thank you for the information :)
thicc quuen. love herr ♥
Ts names are always a tongue twister for me and often just go with the roll of my tongue...😅
Seven's Crawleeze yeah some of them are a mouthful.
Hey mr.g it’s vandell
Hey Vandell! Welcome to my channel! 🤓👍🏼
@@TarantulaHaven I actually like your vids
I like your vids too mr. G
Natascha is a sweet girl. Guess now I know how to pronounce "boehmei" correctly, thanks.
Aphilia Rachno it was a relief to hear it from an expert’s mouth. I’m kind of a stickler for pronunciation and it stems from me growing up with Spanish as my first language and learning English passively from school and my environment. It was important for me to fit in and it was always important to me to speak English as proficiently as I could. Unfortunately with binomial names of tarantulas the pronunciation is so subjective that it drives me crazy trying to figure it out. Fortunately, in one of Andrew Smith’s videos he says it’s not important how you pronounce it but rather that you’re using the scientific name over the common name because no matter how you pronounce it people will definitely know the species you are talking about. 🤓👍🏼
@@TarantulaHaven Right. And writing it correctly is more important than pronouncing it correctly. I did not know that Spanish is your first language, interesting.
1:05 I thought you was going to say “Andrew Tate”😂😂😂
Is female?
