- The last installment on my Halloween Species Showcase, the Hapalopus sp. colombia commonly known as the Pumpkin Patch Tarantula. It wouldn't be Halloween without the Pumpkin Patch. Happy Halloween!

Awesome video dude...loved the Cajun accent...lol
LOL! I tried! 😂I love to hear the real thing. Happy Halloween my friend! 🎃
I’m Cajun (Acadiana born and raised) and your inclusion of Cajun folklore was such a nice surprise in this video!!! It’s SO rare to see it in contexts outside of my area!!! If I hadn’t subbed already last week i would have INSTANTLY just for that!!!! 😊
I also love this series lol, I love Halloween and am considering giving a home to one of these beautiful creatures someday. This series is EXACTLY what I was looking for to help me figure out which one would be best for me!!! 🎃🕷
Thank you and keep up the great work!!! 😊😊😊
Wow! I’m glad you enjoyed it. Yes, I believe the story takes place in Acadia Parish. It is one of my favorite stories to share with my students. Tarantulas are definitely interesting to keep. There are so many wonderful species to choose from. Thank you for your comment. 🤓👍🏼
Loving your videos! Not only do you get to see some cool arachnids, you get education, and entertainment. Something that is missing on most channels. Thank you!
Thank you so much! I try to add an element of entertainment with the rest. I appreciate the feedback. 🤓👍🏼🎃
Just put my confirmed female into its new and last home. She has plenty of room and i got her set up for a comfy and happy life.
HA! This is my first video of yours I've ever watched, so the moment the fake accent when away and you were like "alright folks, enough of that" was extra hilarious. Such a big tone shift for what to expect from the rest of the video lol
Cool punkins. I’m really digging the Hapalopus species.
Yes add those cool decorations to your site .😊🎃
Beautiful spider
I wish u a happy, safe and healthy all-hallows-eve
Same to you my friend. Do you celebrate in Germany? I know the Brits do. 😂
@@TarantulaHaven In the last years it has come to germany. But it´s some sort of "americanising". Helloween comes from the Kelts, and they have brought it to the Americas :) So - yes, we are celebrating it here, too
Love the Psalmopoeus cambridgei at the end just like you said on Facebook 😂
Gonna admit Cajun accent is one of my weaknesses 🤣 well truly Cajun. Nicely done Alex! Beautiful molding & beautiful T’s!! Happy Halloween 🎃
hello great video
Thank you Rodolfo! 🤓👍🏼🕷
Great video as always
Thank you Channy! 😊
Alex it would be cool to sell your pumpkins as enclosure decorations.
Awesome! I’ll definitely get started on this. 🤓👍🏼🕷
Love this tarantula species and your little pumpkin sculptures! Will definitely have to check out the story.
Thank you. Hopefully soon I can make them available to the public. The story is fun especially to share with kids on Halloween! There’s another one called Taily Po on the same web site that is also fun. Happy Halloween! 🎃
@@TarantulaHaven Happy Halloween to you, too! 🎃🕸
Happy Halloween Alex!!
Happy Halloween! 🎃🕷
I didn't know that they could take some degree of dryness. I always thought them to be a moisture-dependant species. I may actually attempt to raise one of these in the future. Stay safe and thanks for sharing :)
Thanks, yeah I keep mine on the dry side but I do moisten the substrate on one side but I do allow it to dry out between watering. I’ve had no issues.
Hey, not bad.. not bad at all!! I love them pumpkin head figures you made!! And yes I do agree about the Pumpkin Patch looking like an average spider other than the beautiful colours. Thank you once again for sharing!
Love all the cool little gourds dude ♥️
Nice. I guessed that one would come up. I have never ownd one though. Intrestung stiory, the other one. I have to check it out
You know I had to. 😂. Definitely check out the story. I love it. Especially the way he narrates it. 🤓👍🏼🎃
@@TarantulaHaven Yes i figured! For me E murinus and pumpkinpatch relates to halloween. Others i dunno
I think there's one of these at my local pet shop, I'm going back to have a look for it 🕷🕸🖤 dwarf I believe?
So crazy mine molted today on Halloween 🎃🕷️
Great video Alex. Happy Halloween 🎃
Thank you Natasha! Happy Halloween! 🎃💀👻
I love your pumpkin figures and the pumpkin patch is so cute with the pattern on its abdomen, thanks for sharing!
Thank you! 😊
I love your sculpts. What material are they carved in? I sculpt digitally, so I was just curious.
Also, did you say "roach nibs"? Is that just like a nymph?
Love how you started this video so funny. I thought you would do the Pumpkin Patch. That was the 2nd T that I got. It was the Pumpkin Patch that got my interstead in tarantulas.
Yes I think you should reproduce the pumpkins you carved they would make great add on to enclosures.
GOD BLESS and have great weekend.
Thanks! I’ll definitely be doing this. 🤓👍🏼🕷
Happy Halloween 🎃🕸🕸
Happy Halloween! 🎃🕷
I need to go read that story. Sounds interesting.
It’s a fun story. The audio file is the best because you hear how it should be. The written version on the page has some slight differences in wording so you don’t get the same impact. 🤓👍🏼🎃
@@TarantulaHaven I'll definitely have to find the audio version of the story then. 😁
@@TheCreatureCavern it’s on the link I provided in the description. 🤓👍🏼
No idea how I missed that 😂 thank youuuu
They do look like some zany wolf spider, but I would recommend them. They are great eaters, prolific webbers, and cool tunnelers. Give them a semi arboreal setup, and watch what they do. My Bolt (as in lightning) rivals my GBB for decorating their respective homes. If you do like that wolf spider look, check out Heterothele villosella. It is another dwarf with big personality.
oke, put them both on my to-do-list :D
I just ordered one for me and one for a friend 🖤
You will love it! 🎃
And my friend is going to pee themselves 😆
That’s always the best! 😂👍🏼
Pumpkin with pumpkins :-)
Just got one last weekend. It’s tiny, but I wanted to get one in October and that was the last individual at the expo so I couldn’t pass it up
Fun video, great outfit!
Hee hee! I wish I had a pair of overalls. 😂 Glad you enjoyed it. 🤓👍🏼🎃
There's my fave dwarf T! I never thought I'd buy a dwarf T (bigger is better, right?), but I can't pass up on the Pumpkin Patch!
I felt the same way at first but now some of my favorites include the dwarfs. 🤓👍🏼
@@TarantulaHaven They grow on you, to be perfectly honest. The D. diamantinensis is a dream T of mine.
@@jupiterrocamora4946 are you in the US? I have some babies.
@@TarantulaHaven Aaaaaaaahhhh... Unfortunately, I'm from the Philippines. No matter how badly I want to take you up on that, I... Just... Can't... So painful to say that. I really appreciate it, though.
@@TarantulaHaven how much do you sell these for
Awesome video! Keep it up
Thank you! 🤓👍🏼
I love all your pumpkins. Have you used any 3d modeling software? I have a 3d printer and love printing pumpkin things
Thank you. No I need to look into it because it would be much easier to reproduce them if I could use a 3D printer.
i dont mean to be so offtopic but does anyone know a way to log back into an Instagram account..?
I somehow lost the login password. I appreciate any assistance you can offer me.
@Maxwell Dayton instablaster :)
@Damian Clyde thanks so much for your reply. I found the site thru google and I'm waiting for the hacking stuff now.
Takes a while so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
@Damian Clyde it did the trick and I actually got access to my account again. I am so happy!
Thank you so much, you saved my account :D
Just curious why did that pumpkin patch have a leak on its back leg?? It looked like tarantula fluids coming out of her leg?
That was roach goo! When I dropped the roach it probably had it leaking from the mouth and it got it on the tarantula. You also see some on the webbing.
Question, how long do they live for?? I'm not sure!
i would really be supportive of you to do that and would like to buy someone day to put on my online store
I love your videos Alex! I got one of these kinda by accident someone ordered one at a local shop & then never came back to get it. I'm wondering if there's any way to know if it's the large or small species or do I just have to wait it out & see how big it gets? When I got it it was smaller than a pin head cricket it's molted once so far but it's still my smallest sling 😍
Thank you. From what I understand in the large, the middle spots on the abdomen are connected. I’m the small, those spots are separated by black. So in other words they will be actual orange spots and not like an orange streak.
@@TarantulaHaven oh awesome! In that case I'm thinking mine is small, so cool thanks for the info ☺️
sign me up for a log water dish!!
10:37 Dude, your irminia is FAT!
11:10 Oh wait, so is your cambri!
11:50 You hmac is also!
What are you feeding to those spiders? I have all 3 of those too (2 per species on the psalmo's) but none ever got abdomen that huge. Are they all in heavy premolt?
Please forgive me for fatshaming your spiders, I'm just astonished :D
First in comment 😍
Yaaay!
@@TarantulaHaven I think I need to add this in my collection
