I learned many years ago to ALWAYS have a a bottle opener on me and I now carry a Ballast Point opener key chain that I never leave home without. Cheers! Another great video.

Had to listen to the Friday 5PM pod to find out there was a new LOW BRAU episode! I'm slipping! I rock a Victorinox pocket knife on the daily (the RECRUIT model), but it's not quite as fancy as this one. I used to love my TINKER model, until it got lost/confiscated when I forgot to take it out of my pants before a flight! Another solid vide, Brad, as per usual. Cheers!

Channel hopping and came across this video. Being a huge MM fan I had to watch. Great video! My Midnite manager rarely left my pocket for the year I have had it. Only put it aside if I am flying somewhere. Unfortunately I have misplaced mine after putting it somewhere safe before a trip to the US. I can't find it and I anm so lost without it ( usually use it 2-3 times a day at least) - I have bought another one!!! I had the blue one - now a red cellidor version....
Fun fact: that Victorinox is legal to take on a flight. The blade is short enough, I've taken mine all over the world and have been inspected once and they said, yeah, fine good to go.

The way Brad said do not take the Victorinox to an airport it will get confiscated - you know that is the voice of experience and he has had at least one taken away in the past.
I often feel that, in this digital age in which we live, physical practicality is often overlooked. It's pretty hard to use your phone to open your beer. Not impossible, but it'll fuck your phone. Great to see well thought love for practical (beer related) tools. Great stuff Brad!!!!

I suddenly feel unprepared to leave my house without that Victorinox haha. And I was quite literally stunned at how quickly Brad dispatched the wax seal. Keep the Low Braus rolling!
Honestly, it’s a miniature marvel of modern Swiss engineering. About a thousand times cheaper than a Rolex but fantastically well made and infinitely more useful (unless you try and tell the time with it)

In the small and airport safe category, I would recommend having a look at Gerber Mullet. Sturdy with a surprising amount of tools (including, of course, a bottle opener).

I carry a swiss army card. Its a credit card sized multi purpose tool. People laugh until they need something opened, a screw tightened or a wax seal shredded. Id argue its better than a swiss army knife as its so small and wallet friendly, you dont even need to remember to carry it.
This does feel like one of those JML long adverts though that appear at 4am on channel 5. Available in Argos and Wilko sort of deal.
My bottle opener is every edge i can find lol😂
I have the Leatherman Brewzer and it's brilliant. Not at fancy as the Victorinox, but still does a great job.

Carrying knives of any size can get you on the wrong side of the law in Australia unless there is a "reasonable excuse" i.e. need for work
I usually just use my pocket knife itself as a bottle opener. Everything can be used as a bottle opener.
Besides that I have a screwdriver set and a torch with me at all times. Bit more bulky, but it comes with much more utility. The knife becomes useful for more than just opening boxes, but also for prepping food or chopping wood.
And no I don't have a pen.
More of us should consider using it to clean and file our nails before we take pics holding beers for insta or untapped imho 💅
