Loveeeee your pattern !! 😍😍😍 How many of these yarns would you recommend for an adult size blanket ??
How big do you want your blanket to be?
@@DivingDucksCrochet i’m 5’4 and im trying to have my mother make one big enough to possibly be about my size so maybeee 50 x 50? Or what do you think
I think 50 x 80 would be better. (If it should cover more than your legs😊). It would need about 12 skeins of 100 grams. She should chain about 110 in the beginning 😊
@@DivingDucksCrochet great thank you so much!!! I appreciate it 🤗💜
You are welcome 🥰
I can’t wait to try this for my grandson’s first birthday! ❤

Wonderful! I´m sure it will be amazing!

oh it's beautiful! I'm making blankets for my 4 grandchildren, 2 of them are identical twin girls. So, I'm looking for some beautiful but simple patterns because I'm a novice. I found one! I'm going to have so much fun making these blankets!! They're for Christmas next year so I have plenty of time! Thank you for making it so fun and easy!
So Nice❤️😊 Thank you 🤩
Great tutorial!!!!! Your speed is perfect for a beginner!!!! Thanks 😃
Thank you so much 😊❤️
I completely agree! I could understand and go along with the instructions without feeling left behind or not understanding what the terminology meant. ❤
I followed this for my first time crocheting, nice and simple and easy to follow, thankyou 😊
You’re welcome 😊
Your stitches are so close and tight, looks great!!
Thank you 😊
Thank you!
You're welcome! 😊
Gulay uzun hepsi birbirinden guzel ellerinize sağlık ne güzel anlatıp ayrintili oruyorsunuz teşekkür ederim turkiye🇹🇷🇹🇷💯👏🌹🌷💐❤😘
If i want to use a stitch marker for the end of the row to make sure i have the width even, where do i put it...on the chain one or after the first stitch? I hope my question makes sense. I made a blanket for the first time and it was completely uneven😅 i find it hard to concentrate on counting stitches and enjoying tv time in the room with my hubby and want to rely on a marker instead of my memory 🤪
Love your pattern and tutorial. Really I do.
Just a constructive criticism suggestion...your directions are for beginners, which are excellent directions !! It would have been better to use lighter colored yarn when doing the instructions so you can see what you are doing - can see the stitches, where you’re putting your hook, etc...that would be a lot better by what you can see doesn’t transfer on screen w a dark colored yarn.
Thx
Oh. Thank You so much. I will defenitily consider that in the future 😊👏🙏👍
Is it better on the video with the pink blanket?
جميلة جداً
Thank you❤❤❤
Youre welcome ❤️
It was easier if you started the blanket with the light colour 😊
Row 1, SC. Row 2- ch 1, 2nd chain from the hook EXTENDED BACK LOOP SC(ex.blsc) , each row last st, sc. Yarn overs are under not over, that gives different look much neater. I slowed down the video to understand how it’s done.
How do you wash your blanket?
When you yarn over, you do bottom to top and then top to bottom. Is that a key part in the stitch or is that just how you do it specifically?
No, it’s not a key part 😊 It’s just a habbit. It doesn’t matter wich way you do it, as long as you keep doing it the same way.
Thank you for asking 🥰
@@DivingDucksCrochet brilliant thanks so much for clarifying
You are welcome 🥰
Did you use 3 300 gram skeins or 3 100 gram skeins?
Hello! I am crocheting a blanket right now with this kind of yarn and I find it frays and leaves fuzzy bits EVERYWHERE!! How can I fix that?
How to secure the ends when your switch colors?
Do you have a video showing how to finish it off? I checked several of your videos but you don’t show what to do with the ends of the yarn. Thanks
I just did a tutorial on it :-)
Where is the tutorial?
I think you should’ve started with the white because blue is hard to see.
Hi Marie.
Yes, I know that the brighter colors are better, but it was some of my ealier videos, so hopefully they´re better now. 😊
/Vibeke
I will be using 4 skeins of 100g and would like to make 8 rows (2 of each color). If I want to make a blanket with equal width and length, how many chains do I make? I am new to crochet.
My guess would be 90 chains, but thats just a guess :-)
Is there a reason that you wrap your yarn 2 different ways? Does it make a difference in the stitch appearance?
No. Im so sorry for the confusion. It’s just a bad habbit I’m working hard on getting rid of.
It’s harder than not eating chocolate😂
Just wrap the yarn like You use to😊
if i have size 7 yarn, should i use my 11.5mm hook or my 15.75mm hook?
I havent tried it, but I would say the 11,5 mm
Hello I realize this was posted years ago but how would you finish the blanket up?
I chose to do a border of single crochet and it made the edges look clean :)
Hello, I like the pattern very much and started crochet, but what I am doing wrong that my blanket is decreasing.. can anyone give me a hint pls
Should I always skip the first chain when doing the single chain? I am confused since in other videos they go over in all chains
People crochet in different ways. When I single crochet, I always chain 1 and turn the work, and then skip this chain when I begin single crochet the next row. That way I alwayt get straight edges :-)
@@DivingDucksCrochet thank u 😊
@@DivingDucksCrochet doesn’t that kind of leave a “hole” on each end?
Are you yarning under First on purpose and then yearning over
🙈
My skeins are 300g each - did you use 100g each, 300 Total? Will it be way too big if I use 900 total 😳 (it’s for a bigger kid)
I used 300 in total. I think 900 would be okay for a bigger kid.😍
👌
Thank you 😊❤️
I have bought everything and ever since i bought them i cant get past the second row because the yarn doesnt let me see were the stitchs are i dont know were im going wrong
I suggest that you make a Little samplesize of 10 chains and go back and forward a couple of times to get the hang of it. Try going into the stitch the same way for 2 rows. I might be right even thouch it looks wrong on the first stitches. Look on top of the row; there is a V. You insert your hook in between the legs of the V.
I know the yarn isnt the easiest to work with, and especially in darker yarn.🥰
It is simple and elegant in the same time, can you tell me the size of this blanket
How are securing the yarn ends? Mine are always get untied
❤️
When I make my chain it starts to spiral and it’s hard to tell where to insert the hook. Am I doing something wrong?
No, not at all. Sometimes it will twist. You Can try stretching it out and see if it is easier to see where to go in. But the first row is always a bit hard. It gets a lot easier on the second row 😊
@@DivingDucksCrochet Thank you!! I think I’m getting the hang of it. A couple more questions, I bought 10 skeins of the Baby Snuggle (100g). Do you have an idea of how large a blanket I could make with that? Also, can you crochet sections of a blanket and then attach them? I want to make large blanket but don’t want to carry it around with me as I crochet at work and at parks, etc.
I think 50" x 70" could be done. It would need about 10 skeins of 100 grams.
You should chain about 110 in the beginning.
In principle You could divide the work, but it will always be prettier in on piece.
What color yarn?
Can u do this in a double stitch
Yes, I have another video just like this one where Im using double crochet 👏❤️
The hooks sizes seem to vary for this yarn from size 5mm to 8mm
How much did you need the yarn for this blanket
How many yards
I don't know what it is. I even use markers and my edges but only on one side come out horrible.
Okay, thats weird if its only on one side 🤔🤔
My stitches are so tight! How do I fix this? I’m using a 10mm hook. I just can’t fix the tension.
I do the same thing. Keep practicing and remember to breathe. Seriously. You gotta relax the hands. Trust me.
К сожалению на темных нитях очень плохо видно, особенно для начинающих.
Oh Im sorry😔
Good tutorial. Not so good idea of using dark yarn to demonstrate the stitch.
Hi Irene. Yes, I know that darker yarns make it more difficult to see. I try to think about that in my newer videos :-)
/Vibeke
OK I don’t think you’re aware but you’re saying you’re an over the first time and you are yearning under the second time you were yarning over thought you should know the difference since you are teaching hope this helps
I know. Sorry 😔
@@DivingDucksCrochetnooo not the sad face i love you video
thi
Would have been better with a different colour that you could see it properly sorry to say
It’s an old vid. Her current ones are different
