I'm not sure if I wasn't aware of it before, but I noticed a small bunion beginning to grow next to my small toe during my recovery period of my broken femur. Is there a relationship between the sudden lack of walking (due to recovery) and the formation of bunions? Or did I just notice the bunion now and it was always there? Thank you. 🙏🏻
Bunion can be also be as a result of weakness in glutes. Kelly Starrett talks about this. There is videos of VERY painful massages on youtube helping to correct this issue very effectively!
Pardon my thinking, but suggesting that generally correct (everything is connected idea) idea of something in the buttocks affecting the fingers is same as suggesting everything is a result of the Big Bang! Could you add detailed explanations how they are connected? Or at least link to how massage corrects bunions (not just glutes)? Thanx!
@@suchistheuniverse7858 and over simplified version is that when you "toe off" in gait, your hip is externally rotated and you push off with the medial part of the big toe instead of the dorsal part. (Id suggest watching "rebuilding the feet"). The massage claims to break up restricted tissues (short planter fascia, adhesions and under used intrinsic foot muscles) to allow the foot to function normal. I enjoy watching the videos on "correcting" but to my knowledge there is no literature to support it. Just anecdote at this point

I have a dorsal, I swear it's from when I stubbed my toe so hard I swore I broke it. That was about five years ago and it's never felt the same, always had a bump growing but it's gotten more painful for about two years now
I’ve got to the doctor tomorrow for this it’s so painful ! It’s like on my little toe area and it’s awful ! I have RA and I’m wondering if that has something to do with it ? I don’t wear tight shoes so I don’t know ? Thank you for explaining this I learned a lot from this .
I have several arthritis I have all these bunions When asking othro doctors they are starting to admit they do not know what causes arthritis, therefore, there are no cures. Bone replacement surgery does not stop the arthritis progression but will help a few years of pain. I wish I was told these facts in the beginning. Seems medicine is more into making money rather than being honest so I can make good decisions about what to do. I have to wear shoes that are extra extra wide shoes, lots of massages, and care. .
You just explained what I’m going through with the arthritis and my feet are hurting so bad I’m literally in tears it’s awful ! It’s really taken it’s toll on my bones and my joints I’m just miserable ! My doctor hasn’t done anything to help at all so I’m at a loss for what else to do !
I am doing well in recovery (3rd week) from bimallelar surgery and I noticed what appears to be big toe arthritis to be present now (not noticeable before). Is it possible for the injury to have made that happen so quickly? It looks like a small bunion and when I ice the foot there is localized pain in that region.
Yeah, it's a bunion alright (Hallux Valgus) that I have, but, there's no pain whatsoever that necessitates immediate relief or treatment. Just a bone protrusion. So, how can I view this on a different light as oppose to what has been discussed? Can't find anything on UA-cam see: "Bunions Without Pain".
I'm 30. I've been diagnosed with hallux valgus and degenerative arthritis on my big toe. At this beginning stage, there is a very mild pain. But I want to cure it with exercise, medication or whatever it takes. Guys please give your suggestions. Also, is it a good idea to do calves raises having arthritis on my big toe?
Me too, 30 and hallux valgus on both feet. The right worse than the left. I'm trying the separators, but is so uncomfortable because I'm severe. I probably need to see doctor and get more advise.
@@avneetsingh2010 I see. I usually use only 1 separator on the big toe, but that doesn't seem to work as it pushes the rest of toes away instead of bringing the big to straight. I think I'll buy the ones that go into all toes to straighten them all up. Will use for few months, if it doesn't help I see a doc.
Sir I have this problem since 30 days and my Sir told me to use rice method but still the swelling is not normal ,it is due to wrong football shoes plz zz help me out
