Thanks for the tips! I’ve been struggling with mine for almost a year and I’m was tempted to get rid of it too. I’m motivated to give this one another try
Yeah it's a tough one! Because it's winter now, my humidity has dropped significantly so I have to up the humidifier level and spray the new leaves more. 🤣 The things we do for our plants
Wow ok, that’s what is happening to mine plant. All me new leaves get stuck and I didn’t know if that’s just the way they grow or what was going on. Now I know it needs humid conditions. Thank you so so much.
@@kevin. mine has a leaf coming out, not quite to the unfurling stage. No harm in more humidity ahead of time! I got one of those small humidifiers so I could have a bedside garden. I love it. Perfect to stick in a water bottle.
You mentioned this video in your Philodendron favorites video so I came to watch it. My Brandi is all wonky like yours was, maybe worse! It did have thrips a while back and I thought it was the origin of the thrips so it's been isolated ever since. However, no sign of thrips for a long while so I am going to move it to a more humid location in a bright bathroom and hope that helps! Thanks for your insight and you got a new subscriber!
OMG! I should've seen this video sooner! The new leaves on mine are also always stuck. 😭 Just recently chopped her up too. Once she's all rooted, will pot her up in leca too, just like yours and will have her sit next to a humidifier. Thank you for this video!!! ❤️
Thank you for this!! I’m struggling with my Brandi and this is the most healthy plant and most helpful video!! For Leica, do you keep water sitting at the bottom in a cache pot? Would love to know your watering schedule with the leca
This plant is really challenging and I still have challenges with it too 😂 I got another leaf with a hole because I was away and my humidifier ran out of water 😬. I usually have the water a 1/3 of the way up the pot. My watering schedule is usually changing the nutrients every 2 weeks. I don't "Top off" the reservoir with regular water anymore just because I don't have the time and I also stopped flushing the pots with water for the same reasons.
Nice video! Love to see people passionate about their plants!! I have a cutting and it seems to be doing well, can't wait til it gets bigger. What is the plant behind you with the large green leaves? Gorgeous and I want one LOL
I love & at the same time made me laughed at what you said, "you're into a journey girl!". Love watching your videos. Thanks for sharing this Kevin. Haven't started leca yet, I got no time!!! :(
I just got my first one, trying to decide if I should chop it or just let it grow. It's way more beautiful in person. I really can't wait for my variegated Burle-Marx though
Omg I am having the same problem! He seems to be doing okay but all the new leaf is blah or it’s just a numb! I just separated the pot and took the tallest stem out since that doesn’t fit in my tiny IKEA green house. I’m really hoping the humidity will help! Thanks for the video!
Hey Mandy! Yeah I had to pump up the humidity when winter hit because of the dry air and I noticed more leaves getting stuck 🤣. Hopefully higher humidity will do the trick!
@@mandyvv4154 I honestly think that you can do either soil or LECA. I can't really give an opinion about it just because my plant was in soil for less than 2 months during the winter time before I switched it. I think humidity is the key thing to making it happy and perhaps a moss pole you can keep moist for ambient humidity.
Love this! It's got me more excited for what my brandtianum could become! Could you please make a video on how to stake the moss pole into the leca setup you have? I'm new to leca and just can't figure out how to get it set up...
I’m just so full of hope now. My brandti isn’t doing any good. Did all the Do’s and still hasn’t thrive. I might just have the heart to chop her up. Wish me luck,Kevin😊 You are adorable ,by the way. 😍
Good luck JULIE ☺️ Aw thanks! I find these plants are so temperamental when they're young. I'm finding now as my plant matures, the leaves are not getting stuck like they used to. Hopefully everything works out!!
hey! I did not know that the alphabet only have 2 letters… I know is hard to make good videos + have a personal life. But it will be nice to try lol (no pressure)
I LOVE the look of this plant so much, but i think its a bit too much of a diva for me? Plus i dont have allot of light in my apartment, east windows.Thank you for the info.
Do you think this baby will do ok with just misting? One was gifted to me and I don’t want the leaves to get stuck! I didn’t know these were humidity loving plants. I’ve tried to weed those out of my collection because I suck at caring for them 😆
I got this baby several weeks ago, and it’s under a grow light. The water meter says wet, even though it doesn’t feel wet, but it’s giving me some yellowing leaves at the bottom😭
great video . I am having this brandiatum for past 1 month. Great tips to proceed. since it is small cutting its in Ikea greenhouse. But I am wondering how to proceed when she grows big.....(great hopes). I have small humidifier for other plants. but its challenging in a room as the humidity leaks through closet and air vents. any suggestion on that? what type humidifier and how long to use it? Please help. I am in Brampton, Canada.
When I watered mine, the day after I noticed that some of the leaves turned translucent. What do you mean by this? I let it dry out completely before watering and I also checked the roots, the roots are okay.
Spraying your plant to increase humidity is a very controversial topic 😂😅. A lot of people recommend it while others don't. It's believed that if you spray your plant, the humidity only increases for a very short period of time and then drops. I only spray my plants when it looks like a leaf of getting stuck or foliar feeding. I feel that it's better than nothing especially if you don't have a humidifier. Are you able to maybe put the plant in a big container to increase humidity like a mini greenhouse? I'm currently doing this with my melanochrysum and shes a lot happier 😂😂
Hey! Do you have recommendations to root cuttings from the p. brandtianum? I put them in Water and 3/5 got some roots but after a while they started to rot. Changed water and put some H2O2 in and they were ok.. but normally I put plants into leca when they got some roots.. so I did.. the roots nearly died completly and there is some new root growth but less and is really is slow and doesn't look ideal.. I still have two cuttings with no roots yet. My first cutting I got last year rooted and grew in moss and still lives in it becaus I can't get it out anymore without destroying the rootsystem anymore. But I think it is a bad idea to chnage rooting medium again.. Please help :D I am so frustrated with those cuttings..
Ok this popped up i’m my feed this morning 🤣 perfect timing!!
YAAASS CRYSTAL 💚
Kevi! I can't believe that after chopping her up, she is thriving like this! Impressive ❤
Haha it took so long! And a lot of trial and error

Yay! I just got this plant and you probably just saved its life.
Oh yay! Again high humidity and spray new leaves when unfurling. Because the air is drier in the winter, the plant is struggling a bit 🤣

Awesome video. You are so right my plant is super picky picky picky picky and without humidity my leaves looked bad too. The humidity was the trick.
It sooooooooo annoying sometimes 🤣
Just came across this as I noticed my leaves weren’t coming out right! And so it was iincredibly helpful! Thank youuuu!!
Omg why haven’t I ever discovered u before?! Ur adorable and so helpful! Defiantly my new fav 🥰
Haha I'm pretty new to the youtube plant community! Aww thank you so much for the kind words! ❤

Yeah this plant is so strange 🤣 I find that they have more trouble in their juvenile state and don't have that issue as they mature
Thanks for the information with the humidity. All of the leaves get stuck at my little plant 🌱🙈
Hahah np! 😁
I've just bought one...so thank you for all advices!!
You're welcome!😊

I agree with every point you made in this video!! Great vid!!❤💚🌿
AMAZING ! Thank you so much! 💚

THANKS. your plants look pretty healthy in soil! Why change to LECA?
@@kevin. Unfortunately, some of my plants don't like the media I am using. :(

Mine have a ton of tiny leaves. I didn't even bother putting it on a pole, I just let it trail.
I like ur vlog about brandy god bless..

Mines is doing really good, but the leaves are smaller on the newest, I repotted it but still small leaves do you happen to know the reason ? Anyone

Interesting...I doubt the "Brandi: lives in Leca in jungle.
Can you link the moss pole you have!!?? I have mine in a 4 inch pot and am wondering where I can find some smaller moss poles :)

Mine grows fine without having high humidity or a humidifier. It is grouped together with other plants, with humidity around 50%,
