Darn, the episode before with the change seat was probably the best in a while, everyone seemed to play better and seemed happier for some reason.. ;0)
Oh, these Tidy Bowl Man questions! Was there a good answer to that one? I thought Piranha, because it's small enough to fit in a toilet tank, but a shark? Of course, Jaws had just come out. And Joyce said a whale! Some sense of perspective people, please.

gene has been so condescending lately, scolding the contestants for not looking at him or referring himself as “the star.” i knkw hes joking but sometimes hes got just as big an ego as richard
Well he is the host of the show, so of course he will want some attention, as well as being technically one of the stars of the show, along with Richard,Charles and Brett.
I've always seen him more as the host or the ringleader. He's no more "the star" than any one of the panelists, which is not a knock on Gene, but simply an observation of the truth that Match Game's success was a fortuitous combination of several elements, one of which was Gene, one was Brett, one was CNR, one was Richard, one was a strong bench of 6th seat semi-regulars (Fannie, Betty, Patti, Marcia, Elaine, etc.) But still, if he wanted to be called "the star" (for the first year or so, Johnny announced him as the "host", before shifting to "the star"), that's fine by me. But the truth is that the show is an ENSEMBLE production, and so it's hard to designate one member "the" star.

CNR my god the man was a literal gem!

CNR in top form here "Let me at her!"
Charles was so darn funny! I miss him, he was one of my favs since I was a kid.
Richard rushing in as the ref was priceless.

The lady wrester is one of the best. Love this show.
One question is almost impossible to answer, the next question is so easy....zipper!
Alex Karras has been pretty useless on this week of shows so far, but he redeemed himself by wrestling with Monica/Lola!
joyce cute as a button and charles always cracks me up.
Joyce was 1st choice for Carol Brady

Alex and Brett have the same glasses? the whole top row...
That was a hot style back then.

The WWF was just a regional player in the 70's. There were a lot of regional rassling territories across the US.
On this date in 2002, The Gaydar (Short) with Charles Nelson Reilly as Uncle Vincent aired.
