one aspect I'm surprised you haven't touched on was the tracks. personally for me they were my favorite aspect for me.
aside from that, i love your video, (even if it was a bit overwhelming for me), one aspect i can 100% agree on is the roster number of 48. definitely strike a perfect balance i do say.
@rzhael0689 Well, I actually did talk about the tracks when it came to the shortcuts and vehicle types. But I didn't cover specific tracks because at least for now this game doesnt exist lol, so I cant base the tracks off of anything (at least not without spoiling MAJOR future projects)
I can't believe this video exist (well one that is so in sync with my own thoughts). I've been prototyping (on paper) a racing game for the characters from a platformer I'm working on and you've hit a good 80% of what I want to do. Good luck on your journey in the event that you end up making this awesome idea.
Thank you, this game is technically in planning (?) given how I'm working on two other IPs that will become the basis for this as a spin off!
@@AstralKat you know, thinking about it I have thought up on some racing games in the past before (Most of them being crossover ones). Most of them i wanted to share, but sadly couldn't since i was pretty young back when i first thought of them.
but recently, one of them that i really liked the most was one I called Ultima All-Stars Racing. Much like the other ideas, it was also a Crossover racing game. And while it there isn't anything special gameplay wise. One aspect that i had the most fun thinking up with was the story mode, one that I imagine having Bugsnax levels of quality writing as well as being more story oriented. And if you've played it before (or watched it). You probably know what I'm talking about.
The one mode I would add is a a custom track mode. One in a similar vein to Modnation Racers/LittleBig Karting where you first build out the track then edit the track and place the props around it.
Lbp karting custom race track system would be so cool, I usually get bored of the same tracks so being able to Download or make more tracks is nice
Imagine this new dream game with this custom track mode, then put it on steam with the workshop, not just for tracks, but also for props or character skins
Mentioned this in a previous comment, but the only reason a custom track maker wouldn't be included is because I actually plan to make this a real racing game someday, and It'll most likely be based on other IPs that I'm currently working on, so I explicitly avoided talking about anything track related because it would spoil two MAJOR projects that i can't talk about just yet
i cannot describe how much i would play this. there's a good balance of everything, as i wouldn't get overwhelmed but it wouldn't be simple! good job!

Great video! Even as someone who isn't really into racing games, I would love a game like this. The single player content would definitely sell me on it, like the mkds challenge mode and the full on story mode really draw me in. I think you do a great job of tying all these mechanics and ideas together, while mixing in plenty of inspiration as well as original ideas to make a really great overall concept!

Also I do think this game would be really cool, but idk who would make it. hopefully a talented indie dev sees this and makes it a real thing

I plan to make this an eventual game using my own IPs which im currently working on, so making a roster video would unfortunately massively spoil those projects, sorry!
why you didn’t talk about the tracks or retro tracks
Because I eventually plan to make this game from my own IPs im working on, and that'd spoil some pretty hefty story stuff
