      couldn't agree more , first run was like 2hours and 2 weeks later i was really depressed but my time was a legit sub 25 🙌🏻 10/10 would recommend going through this hell again

      @@hazymazy7463 I've played the game since its release. I haven't gotten a sub 25. The progress you made in 2 weeks is absolutely insane and I give you props. I understand the game very well and have beaten the game many times, but I always fuck up when it comes to speedrunning. I know all the tricks, like bomb clip, owless, canonless. But after watching this video, I see that my route was really bad. Im gonna try this new route, and hopefully get my first sub 25 soon. When I get to the last stage, my hands tense up and I start to sweat. I have entered at 22 minutes just to choke and end up with a 26 minute run. Its infuriating.

    If you do owlless in your runs on n64, then you want to do it before fighting the king whomp because since the tower causes lag it can slow you down quite a bit.

    Hey! Thanks a lot for this! I've started runing Mario64 2 weeks ago and has been a LOT of fun, i am a bit stubborn with some tricks that i really like so i lose a lot of time with them, but this video helped a lot plus i know i need to get better at my basic movements, the instadive is a movement i haven't mastered yet, but everything else is coming up together!
    With a sub 20 in 16star category i'd be happy to move to 70 star maybe, not sure yet, and Bowser in the Sky is my nemesis, that last pole grab is what ruins my runs every single time and i just can't do any of the tricks shown in the guides, so i usually get to the platform and grab both poles in a very slow fashion.
    Thanks again for this and also to the Discord community that helped me to set up Project64!

      @Drogie  4 роки тому +2

      First of all, thanks a lot zx! Well, one reason is, for most people it's much easier to spin on a Hori. The other reason is that the OEM n64 sticks wear out quite fast, after only a few bowser fights they can become noticeably looser. And, I'm not sure if I'll ever come back to Pokémon Snap speedrunning, but I do sometimes play for better highscores. Maybe if there is a new discovery in the speedrun, I'll return? :o

    Nice vid, the only problem I have is that the run is too sped up so I can't really follow along the movement, could you make a more in depth guide?

    beginner question: is saving and continuing after a star suppose to be noticable? cuz ive been saving and continuing on PJ64 and I fail to see how its slower then going down 2 in the menu risking clicking save and quit instead of just pressing a on the first option.

    • @Drogie

      Yeah once you get a bit more accustomed, you'll probably notice if you play on project64 1.6

    While practicing DW reds does having the starting text box affect the cycle ? I practice w/o text box and it feels like the first elevator is never in position and I’m forced to wait. Ty for all this amazing content !

      It does not affect the cycle!

      @@Drogie ty!!! Good to know I’m just too slow! It’s rough cause all my movement seems ok, I’m fast off the 2nd red coin box and even when I hit the speed kick I either ledge grab or even bonk the elevator cycle

    Nice Tutorial, do you know how much time it saves to collect red coins in DW instead of grabing the elevator star in HMC

    • @Drogie
      @Drogie  3 роки тому

      It really depends on many factors.. I would say switch as soon as you feel comfortable with DW reds!

    I have a question. What is in your opinion a good time for a beginner in the 16 star category? :)

    • @Drogie
      @Drogie  3 роки тому +1

      Hi Kulty! Well, hard to say because it depends on how much you play. If you play several hours everyday for weeks, I'll say go for sub 20. If you don't have as much time, aim for a sub 30 at first :)

    • @superkulty64
      @superkulty64 3 роки тому

      @@Drogie I already got sub 20. I got a 19m35s PB by far, but I feel a bit unsatisfied. I did everything decent, but lost a lot in time in BiTS. I thought a good time would be something like sub 19. :)

    How come you skip red coins in dark world? It’s quite easy for beginners imo, and it lets you skip a basement star

    • @Drogie
      @Drogie  3 роки тому

      We all agreed it should be skipped for very very beginners.
