- Marcia (who goes by the name of Delusional Gypsy) has been living in a converted U-Haul for over 3 years now after converting it to an astonishing Tiny Home on Wheels. She's 69 years young and loves her new life of adventure on wheels. She paid $1500 for a 1996 Ford Box-Truck that had lived its previous life as a U-Haul Rental. She put another $1500 into the conversion and repairs and she has one of the world's cheapest and best cozy little home on wheels! (RTR stands for a large gathering of nomads I host in Quartzsite Arizona called the Rubber Tramp Rendezvous).

The Main thing, she has a Roof over her Head . Some folks Loves living by themselves. They don’t want to even live with their own Children. I can Really relate. I’m just so glad she has a Mindset to Strive and Live on her own terms . GOD Protect her Amen .😊❤️
All I can say is wow and bravo to you. I love your pretty home on wheels. When I was 55 I looked into 55 and over apartments and senior (62yrs) apartments. Very few waiting lists. I moved into my first 55+ apartment at 59. I thought it was going to be a wonderful experience and in some ways it is nice. However in my opinion, people are not meant to live so close together and give up too much of their privacy. It is not for me. Now there are long waiting lists for fixed income senior apartments. The demand is great and the supply is slow for affordable nice senior living. Smart lady. :)
What a great little home on wheels. She put so much personality into it, I love it.
This is all a person needs !! She has the good life, she has a warm home, it is comfortable, she can live mostly on her terms. No wasting money or unwanted stuff. Her home is comfortable, I would park this near a beautiful creek and live happily . God bless her.

If fear holds you back, just remember, the minute you pull out onto the road with your new home... you have entered into, NOT JUST a very TIGHT KNIT, SUPPORTIVE CREATIVE & MOTIVATED COMMUNITY... Her decorating style is absolutely lovely. I love the ceiling, the "crock pot lid" skylight, the wallpaper, the wood, the hanging jar-light, the purple door, the screen...she should get a gig doing women's campers! I'd LOVE for her to do mine when I get one! I also love the "box" that hr nephew made her with the little antlers on the corners! Awesome! Just adorable taste in decorating.

I just love her. Reminds me of my grandmother who died many years ago. She built her own little cabin out of a shed and came up with so many clever ideas. She loved to travel and help out friends and relatives. I think she would have loved this type of life.

I had a 14' U Haul truk that i turned into a very comfy home, i insulated it good and it could B 100° outside and it wd stay around 80° inside

In ten years time, this'll be me, age 67 and still on my feet (hopefully.) I'm staring retirement in the face in a decade and planning the rest of my life; I think I could do this.

Oh my I just love her such a smart lady & wonderful home . I had a 02 u-haul i used for flea markets i then thought about doing what she did instead i had to sell it i was in a financial bind after divorcing but my mobile home & land was paid for i owned before I married. Lot's of luck to her thanks Bob this is the best video yet.

Bob, I am in property management/maintenance. I wanted to let you know that many of your ideas translate to my profession.
I often go to repair rental homes that have no electricity or utilities on. Your ideas on power, carrying water, organization, storage and vehicles have improved my obscene profits even more. I own 2 pick-ups ,1 Jeep and 1 trailer. Now, I'm shedding the two pick-ups and trailer for a Roadmaster Pro because of you. The extra pick-up was my "back up," on the job. Now, the Roadmaster can be my "Bug Out!" back-up option and used on the job until then.

Jayne Eyre Many members of the “tribe”, or folks who live on BLM land (Bureau of Land Management) move to higher elevations in summer to stay cool and lower elevations in winter in search of more warmth ; So they are more in tune with the earth and conform to what it has to offer this way.

Howdy Marcia, if your travelling to El Paso TX, stop in at Rainwater Laundromat in El Paso, 8 to 8 7day a week. Got a nice hook up too, stay awhile. My be able to stay lot longer and work too.

OMG this lady rocks! truly inspirational.
That's a great recycling idea! Using a sturdy U Haul truck that's considered to be past it's prime ( and so obviously not!) as a tiny home on wheels is a very good way of keeping that truck from ending up as a rusted out hulk in a field. She has what she needs, plus animal companionship. Getting the solar panels will bump up her lifestyle as well.
I bet other folks will start to investigate at their local U Haul office, looking for soon to be "retired" trucks.

Marcfia you are wonderful! My daughter in love just took to the road. She and my son divorced sometime ago, but we stay in touch. She is in her early 60s and I am in my early 70's.She has a doggie as well and a custom made van tye thing. I I walked through her new "home" and I am impressed and inspired! I am a cheerleader for seniors and still working as a counselor, senior life coach, minister....lead a few food shelves and still writing. I am also a licensed minister. I am loving this life and encourage others to do so. Stay in motion! The best is yet to come!
