  • Bonjour à tous,
This week at the château, Terry has been out and about collecting some amazing pieces of furniture for the château, but unfortunately almost every piece of furniture in France has some signs of woodworm. So first Terry needs to treat each piece with a woodworm treatment.
Once treated, Rob starts work on bringing back to life each piece of furniture with a amazing wax we have discovered, ‪@GilboysRestoration‬ with amazing results.
This amazing beeswax furniture polish provides the best protection for the finish of all woods. It is very easy to apply and a little polish goes a very long way because turpentine holds much more wax in suspension by volume than any petrochemical solvent.
If you would like to try this amazing product, please use the link below and put DreamChateau In the discount box to receive a FREE polishing cloth with the purchase.

    About us,
We are a family from the North-East of England following our dream to restore a beautiful abandoned french Château. We discovered the heart stopping Château De Lalacelle in summer of 2020, this beautiful architectural monument Is set in the countryside of North-West France.
The moment we visited the Château we all fell in love, from the beautiful sweeping landscape and forests, to its stunning untouched interiors and magnificent spiral staircase in the turret.
Unfortunately Château De Lalacelle has been abandoned for a number of decades so will need a lot of restoration and DIY.
Please subscribe and follow our families journey, with the up’s and down’s in moving from the UK to rural France and restoring this beautiful building to its former glory.

Rob is amazing, vacuuming the roof of the tower and putting on the polish and then buffing it by hand - all with arms above his head. My arms, neck and back were hurting just watching him, yes Rob is amazing!!!

The furniture looks great with its new coat of wax and cannot wait to see the three upholstered pieces from today's VLOG get a new life. As always thanks for bringing us along. A bientot!

Almost everyone who has commented has said how brave Rob is. I think this is exactly what we need to teach our children - it isn't that people have no fear, you face your fear, tell it to jog on elsewhere, and get on with what you know you need to do. That's the stuff that makes bravery. 😘

I’m going through some medical issues and I’m in constant pain atm. I’ve been in bed the last 4 days, and yous have made me feel so much better. I wish I’d been here from the beginning. Your a wonderful family, and you work so well together. When I’m caught up here, I’m looking forward to watching all the Patreon vlogs. Again, thank you for sharing your experience and ups and downs. I appreciate the honest way you all have approached your channel. It shows, and sets you apart from almost every other chateaux channel. God bless, be safe, and have fun. ♥️🇫🇷🏰✨

That furniture you treated and Rob polished look great, with new upholstery it will look fantastic. That was hard work cleaning and polishing the paneling, a difficult angle to work so well done all 💕🇦🇺

OMG! With this level of anticipation, I feel like a groupie. Oh well, I could pick worse people to appreciate.
I really like the settee and chair trio, nice detail.🛋️ Does the wood frame under the upholstery need to be treated too?
Bravo Rob for crawling onto the scaffold especially with your obvious ill-at-ease with heights.
    Goodbye cobwebs🕸️🕸️🕸️, hello sunshine!🌞
Tony, the dogs seem to be adjusting just fine.♥️🐶🐶♥️

Yes I also wondered about woodworm treatment for the bottoms and under the upholstery of the furniture. Also the tower panelling.

Such hard work (and time consuming) cleaning, washing and then waxing/polishing that much wood panelling. Rob does amazing work with you!👍🏻👏🏻

You realize you need to keep Rob, he’s awesome. Maybe think about adopting him…..
Btw there would be zero probability that I would EVER be on scaffolding. Fear of heights would outweigh that before I moved a step. Yup nope.
