This week at the château, It’s almost the final stages of the new château grand Entrance. Now the wall Is complete, Its time to get the rest of the gravel down, but first the family have to Install some rain channels to take all the surface water away from the new road, and with a cement lorry on its way, its back to digging for Patrick and Tracy.
Jonathan helps out and paints the render on the new Edging, plus he plants some bulbs around the curved edge of the deiveway ready for next year, to be filled with colour.

About us,
We are a family from the North-East of England following our dream to restore a beautiful abandoned french Château. We discovered the heart stopping Château De Lalacelle in summer of 2020, this beautiful architectural monument Is set in the countryside of North-West France.
The moment we visited the Château we all fell in love, from the beautiful sweeping landscape and forests, to its stunning untouched interiors and magnificent spiral staircase in the turret.
Unfortunately Château De Lalacelle has been abandoned for a number of decades so will need a lot of restoration and DIY.

It's so refreshing to see the Lord of the Manor pitching in to help! Clearly he could just sit there and watch you work! He could even chew on a nice hambone right in front of the workers. You can tell that he knows if he wants it done right he better lend a paw!
So much great stuff in this episode: Jonathan planting bulbs and adding the render (?) to the edging, how Tony always seems to know what to do, the decision to do the more durable skirting and drain, which looks fantastic. Your planning is long term, and there's something lovely about it. You're creating something that will last.
One would think you have been restoring Chateaus and building driveways your entire lives. Your attention to detail and thoughtfulness with each job will certainly ensure the chateau and grounds will be around for hundreds of years to follow. With each video you share and since the beginning I have been in awe of just what you can and have accomplished. 😃

You all did a fantastic job on the zipper drain. The concrete work is really good as well. I don’t know what your considering to plant behind the entrance wall, but a few ornamental trees would look beautiful with a bunch of bulbs, with different bloom times. Poor Lord Patrick, he spent the day sniffing out truffles and no one noticed. 🤣🥲Jonathan, you did a fantastic job on the landscaping and hard scape! Your a natural!!! Cheers to a job well done. Yet again ... such a professional job. The care taken to position and "seat' that drain properly should make an enormous difference. The run off from the road, let alone water flowing down the drive could cause major problems otherwise. A beautiful entrance to the chateau at the beginning of that amazing hand-built driveway! 🥰

Bearing in mind it's a dog! - it would be surprising if it didn't instinctively start digging whenever there was a bit of loose earth around.....!
