  • Bonjour à tous,
This week at the chateau, Ash & Graham carry on work in what will be the kitchen on the third floor, plus get the spare room sorted and what will be the study. each of these rooms have long been forgotten with little work done to them in the last 40+ years. Now with the help of Graham, these rooms are slowly coming back to life.
Terry & Graham tackle the tricky plasterboarding for the kitchen and fit a door to what will be the entrance to the third floor, but Terry may have made a little mistake measuring it.
Plus a massive thank you to ECOFLOW

    About us,
We are a family from the North-East of England following our dream to restore a beautiful abandoned french Château. We discovered the heart stopping Château De Lalacelle in summer of 2020, this beautiful architectural monument Is set in the countryside of North-West France.
The moment we visited the Château we all fell in love, from the beautiful sweeping landscape and forests, to its stunning untouched interiors and magnificent spiral staircase in the turret.
Unfortunately Château De Lalacelle has been abandoned for a number of decades so will need a lot of restoration and DIY.

OMG.... did Terry just say “I'm straighter than some of the beams” at 19:00? I died!! 😂😂😂 These little gems are what I live for. 😁 Love your whole family’s sense of humor. You all seem to be having so much fun. It's a blast to ride along! ❤️

My sister is a widowed senior who lives alone in an apartment building. Her town had a tornado a few weeks ago and she was without power for almost 4 days. If she had an EcoFlow she could have kept her android charged so she could keep in touch with her family, run a fan in the hot apartment, tuned into a radio to keep abreast of the news and saved most of the items in her fridge/freezer.

You all have so much loving tender care poured into this home, making it look beautiful even before the paint and furnishings go in. Love what you are doing. I would use the unit to power my lights, phone and laptop at night time to save on the ever-increasing electric bills. Not forgetting to recharge the rechargeable batteries.

I admire anyone that takes on a project so expensive. I feel my eyes water at what the structural engineers quote alone was to fully survey. N then once ready to proceed, it takes determination, luck ( surprises round every corner) n bit of good old fashioned madness to persevere.!!
      Foundation n structure& roofing first!
      Manor restoration s a labour of love...n takes years...best advice,Enjoy the process!!!
Every good wish to you and your family.

I became a widow a few years ago and after some thought about what I would like to do with my life now without my husband, I decided to buy a 16 ft camper, Used. Come to find out it had a lot of water damage. So I've started tearing it apart and I am hoping to be able to have it totally off grid and none toxic to the environment. I am putting a lot of effort into finding reclaimed light weight wood for it. As it has a weight limit of course. But when it's doneI think I'd like to up to the mountains in Maine where I am originally from and live off the land. My husband would have loved that!!!!

Hi everyone thanks for the chance to win this fab product. I am a nursery school teacher. We use music in the garden for the children to dance to and stories. This would be an amazing help when we are out on trips or at the bottom of our garden where the extension lead won’t reach. Eco flow sounds like a life saver. Have a happy week everyone. Xxx

Hello my friends, you have probably heard of the severe storm which hit southern Ontario three weeks ago. It hit us here in Ottawa on Sunday, May 22 bringing down trees and hydro poles and damaging homes. We were without power for several days and some were out for a couple of weeks. Everyone lost their food because the fridges and freezers were not working. Generators are expensive, must not be used indoors, and are very noisy. However a generator could power up a neighbourhood of Ecoflows each of which could be used to power a fridge and freezer in individual homes and save the food. I sincerely wish I could give an Ecoflow to each household in case of future disasters. Sarah in Ottawa

The Ecoflow would be so handy for yard projects and for camping. But I’d especially love the peace of mind it would provide for disaster preparation. Living in California, I like to be ready in the event “the big one” hits.

Thank you for this opportunity, you are all an example to follow! We are both pensioners, our electric fire is expensive to run. We would like a wood burning stove fitted as we live in the Forest of Dean. With the charging appliance we could recharge things while the woodburning stove work is being done. 😘👍🏼

We are prone to flooding in our backyard & there's no longer power in our broken down garage. We have a pump to drain the water, but it's such a hassel to bring an extension cord all the way to the house when we need to pump water. I have to twist arms to get the pump connected & drain what is a health hazard. My husband & I are in our 60's with mobility issues. The mini would mean I could set it up with very little assistance. We also have an electric lawn mower & a weed wacker (you call it a strimmer) that is a chore to connect power to, & a lot for my husband to cope with.

We built a beautiful gazebo and outdoor kitchen in our backyard last summer. It would have cost a ton to run enough power down there from the front of our house, but instead, I bought the Delta2 and a 220w solar panel and its AWESOME! (at a significant Amazon Prime Days discount) Now, we can power fans, tv, music and lights and keep our devices charged without stringing extension cords. We spent half our summer down there. (We are outside Toronto, Canada)
As a bonus, it also powers our kids' camping trailer. We are now considering installing solar panels on our sunroom roof with the EcoFlo solar home generator.

I'm a new widow and the only way I'm going to get able to travel is through camping. I need solar to do this. My goal is to build a van or small motor home. I've been researching solar power and have decided an all in one unit is the best for my needs. Plug in what I need. Set up solar panels and no worries. Thank you for even the possibility of winning and congratulations to whomever wins. Thank you also for sharing all your doing to bring this fantastic place back to the magnificent home it once was.

Your doing great job guys. I would use the echo flow for a number of things. Hubby could use it while in the shed for his tools (instead of extension cables from the house through the window) I would use it for the little summerhouse at the bottom of garden, for a number of craft uses, playing radio and of course to make a cuppa tea! In the house to help with all the rising costs of electricity (we pensioners and everyone else are having to struggling with) and the odd electric cut!

Hello Terry and Ash. I watch all your shows you and your parents are just awesome. I would love to receive the mini power bank. We live on one and a third acres in Brisbane Australia and get frequent power cuts during our winters. My Terry does all the maintenance on this small property and he has a long walk for a 78 year old up a rather steep hill to get any power. It would make his live a lot easier. He does all this with a bad hip which needs urgent surgery. Kind regards. Vicki Turner.

I have been watching from the beginning and absolutely love what you are doing for that beautiful chateau...the way Terry looks when talking about bringing the life back not only to the chateau but down to the smallest detail, Ash able to turn his hand to anything nothing is too much he is able to work it out then get on with it. As for Tracey and Tony their cottage is beautiful and I can't wait to see the finished kitchen... Tracey is amazing I think what she does would send a lot of women screaming...As for the ecoflow...before you even mentioned the competition I was thinking how great that would be for wild camping in our campervan...we recently were away and parked in a car park and someone had a generator which was noisy all night and annoyed a few folk ( we were away watching my son in the Enduro world series downhill biking comp )...so this would be ideal ( we are looking to get something for power when off grid )..I'm going to show my other half this vlog as he said there must be something out there that is compact and doesn't make a noise.. Voila here it is...and let him see how amazing this compact powerhouse is and better still...no noise...I look forward to every episode x

An eco flow would be useful for keeping people's router powered up when the power is off so they can continue working from home while I'm working on their electrics in my work as an electrician, it could also give power in the loft or similar places with no power. I could also use it when camping to recharge phone and tablet, there is a lot more when you think about it.. Great work on the Chateau it's looking good, its getting there. 👍

Have not heard mention of having to get permits for wiring, electrical, carpentry alterations. etc...and periodic waiting for official Inspectors to approve work before continuing to the next step. Is this necessary in France. Enjoy your series.

While it likely depends on area, it would seem from other Château owners the process is a bit different......submit all plans as part of a permit type process (but a few bigger things need more of an actual permit) then they come out and inspect at the end when you are done. Just what I have gathered, harder to get plans approved but a lot fewer inspections. The US has turned into a racket. Now, if it is a graded historic home, a lot more requirements and restrictions the higher the grade and possibly more inspections.

Wow! I wonder if the ecoflow is available in South Africa - it would come in handy when we have loadshedding - to power wi-if and other essentials.

I would love to have one of those EcoFlow minis so that we would be able to power my husbands Bi-Pap respirator, and oxygen, in case of power outages and/ day trips in our van. He only has 18% lung function, so it would be so helpful for us.

I’m interested in the mini anyway as I’ve been looking for a back up for blackouts. We get at least one in winter. My hubby has a generator to run fridges etc, but to charge a phone it’s a pain to have it at the other end of the house. Going shopping now…..

Don't know if this open to the states but if it is I live in a hurricane state (FL). I don't have any way to keep my freezer frozen and lights and stove on. These all electric homes are a disaster during a blackouts. This sure would be a life saver for me and my dog.

Hi. I would use this to charge an electric scooter in the shed of an apartment where there is no electricity, and I do need this scooter for work. That ECOFLOW is easier to carry to the first floor than the scooter.

Often wondered how you people divide up jobs to be done and who does what. Do you have job lists stuck everywhere or a book? I couldn’t begin to know what to do next and in what order and by whom. Cheers from Australua

Greetings from Australia, good to see Ash’s Dad back again, together they make hard work appear easy. I like the ecoflo, truly useful power for outside work, emergencies and parties. The new bedroom will be finished in time I’m sure.

Ahhhh... FINALLY we see what gets Ash REEEEEALLY amped up! (Pardon the pun) ☺️🌟
Honestly, I can't express enough how much I love that you all really support and discuss sustainable and Eco options for things. You already were my favourite Chateau channel, but your low key promoting and inspiring changes like that as influencers makes me so happy. 🥰
