Mine was leaking intermittently, then it started overheating. Changed the thermostat and problem solved so far. Cheap and easy.

Ponykiller I noticed you have steel control arms. You should buy the upgraded aluminum fe5 control arms also change out the control arm bushings and get ottp or powell bushings.

I did end up swapping out the Control Arms with the FE5. I did it right before I had the car get an Alignment at Pepboys. Good eye on the steel ones. No one noticed that. I think the previous owner didn't know the difference and put some different ones along with struts that went on a different model Cobalt. I changed the control Arm Bushings for some MOOG brand, so far they have been very good. No issues. You think the OTTP would be a better replacement? Thank you for watching!!

No worries man your build has been great to watch so far especially since I'm in the same build process with my car restoring my 2007 Pontiac G5 gt sedan. To answer your question yes ottp or Powell is better than moog since they are a spherical bushing and will more than likely last the lifetime of your vehicle. Out of the two Powell is the superior brand. A lot of Cobalt owners on cobaltss.net have them on their cars and improve handling tremendously. Also a Powell rear sway bar is another handling improvement you can to. I bought my bushings and rear sway bar from Powell and will be installing them on my car soon.

I don't think its the timing chain. Maybe the belt that also activates the alternator. I would say to look up videos and go for it. Worst that can happen is that you have to pay someone else to finish the job.

The leak is from the water pump. The pump is connected to the timing chain. Im not going to deal with that 😅. I know these ecotec engines can be funny.
