"...the raindrops really get a move on at 40 mph plus, allowing you to confidently pass any windscreen wiping peasants while yours remain neatly tucked away" 🤣 I gotta hand it to you CCG, you always have a way with words! Your content over the many years has never diminished in the slightest!
Man you know you did a good detailing job when random passer-bys take time to take shots of your car :D
It’s only then you can pat yourself on the back!
The nuber plates help also 😊
@@CarCleaningGuruI usually deliver to your neighbour.. always nice to have a nosey at your motor 😊😉
@carcleaningguru
I used the same Towels as yourself and found they linted all over the glass even after thoroughly washing them. Have you come across this problem. The glass was clayed and was spotlessly clean.
Thanks.
It really is a head-turner 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Based on this, I forked out for the SOFT99 Glaco DX and couldn't be happier. It might be a bit pricey but the results speak for themselves. Works great on bathroom mirrors too!
I had a bad experience with these products. The felt pads are just about useless. The compound left spots that weren't polished, had to go over those spots a few times. Then when I used the glass sealant, the same thing happened, it left spots that weren't sealed. Even going over the areas two -three times. Finally I ripped off the felt applicators and used a little cloth that comes with ceramic coatings and that worked perfectly. With that said, we had heavy rain yesterday and when I came out to my car the windshield was totally dry as if it hadn't rained at all. So I'm very happy with the products just not the felt applicators. ty
Always got a reason to complain.. don’t you?😂
@@vivekthegreat67 now you sound like my wife. Hahaha.
Great job, mate Give our kid a wave next time you go through West Kirby he's about 4 houses on the left up the hill past the station
I've found Glaco set few weeks ago and applied it on my car 2 weeks ago. The hydrophobic effect is awesome and over certain speed you don't need to use windshield wipers! Definitely recommend this!
Yeah and rain-x has been doing the same thing for 50 years now....
@@davidsmith2650rain-x has always let me down. It doesn’t seem to last more than a couple weeks
Do the wipers make noise now? I have read that some coatings cause the wipers to make noise as the clean
@@davidsmith2650 Rain-X, however, is only good until you use your wipers for about... 20 or 30 minutes, then it's only about half as good. It needs to be re-applied regularly, especially if you have to use your wipers during low speed travel. For highway speed it's fantastic, no wipers needed no matter how bad the deluge (well, mostly).
ANY kind of coating on a window is temporary. If you use wipers at all it wears it off very quickly. I can make an application of rain-x last 6+months by never using my wipers. If there is morning frost, pour warm water on your window to melt it. Never scrape, never wipe, don't touch them.
what did u say.. .after 4 weeks not washing your car? it looks brand new... my wifes car looks after two days like she drove the fking paris dakkar in two turns
😂😂😂😂😂👊👍🤙🤘😎

Your car detailing skills are second to none. Your editing is first-rate, and your dulcet tones in the commentary are perfect. In addition, watching your videos is so relaxing I swear my bp drops. Cheers, mate, for what you do 😊
I've been using the DE Cleaner for about a year now - and I absolutely love it. It definitely extends the life of the coating. Would highly recommend!
I’ve watched this video maybe 3 or 4 times. Thanks for producing these clear, concise videos with lots of great footage. I finally got around to buying the glass cleaner and using it - amazing product that I wish I’d discovered for my cars 10 years ago. Will definitely try the repellent next once my bottle of rainx is depleted!
Great review. For anyone reading this, I don't care whether you use this product, Rain-X, or some other brand product, just use something! This products increase safety for you immensely.
I've used these two products myself... epic, and can attest to the longevity of the product's effects
Normally I skip long vids or at least fast forward to the bottom line but I stayed to the end because it was very well done. The ending was very cool & I liked the jazzy music 😊
Griots Glass sealant is the easiest to apply, is very cheap and beads water like crazy also works with the wipers causing no chatter.Been detailing for 30 years now.
Griots makes excellent products.
Editing + application is top draw👌🏼.
Glaco products are awesome & very good value for the money.
I use Glaco on my glass really pleased with it
Love both of these products and use them on my van I use for work ,absolutely brilliant products and would recommend anyone to try them
Not only did I enjoy the presentation of how well the Glaco rain-repellent works, but enjoyed listening to the narrator's accent and clean articulation of the english language. Good job mate!
It’s so satisfying to have the car finished and looking perfect and completely protected. I generally use G-Technic’s glass sealant but I will give this a go. Cheers. 👍
The wax job has comtinued to make your car look lush and honestly that glass cleaner is pretty impressive. Might have to get myself some for the lil suzuki swift after the wettest summer of our lives.
Love those funny little dash cam shots. She was well impressed with your car!
I'm so excited to see people start using these products, I coat every car with this and have a hard time driving without it in the rain. I personally highly recommend going with 2 coats, (or even 3 on the windscreen), makes the product last a bit longer, but it has a strong hydrophobic effect for much longer.
How long have you found 1 coat to last you?
There was a product like this in the mid 1990s. My dad had it. Loved it during a heavy rain storm on the freeway with the wipers off while everyone else had to pull over and drive slow.
The original rain x, I still have an original bottle, rumoured to have been developed during the war for use on spitfire screens
Loved that montage at the end mate that should be a regular feature for the views. Get the dashcam loving crowd in here (we all are really ). Going to give this stuff a go.
Yeh just takes a bit of time to collect enough clips but won’t let them go to waste from now on. If you missed it there’s a longer one at the end of the diy wheel refurb vid.
@@CarCleaningGuru Awesome bud will deffo check that out shortly must of missed it as my Subaru wheels are falling apart and didn't want embarssed 😆
The best glass sealant is the quickest to apply as they all don’t last as long as you would like them too so being able to quickly re-apply is the way to go.
1 gallon of Rain-X wiper fluid is $2.99. You can reapply even when its raining. Just spray the washer fluid and spread it with the wipers.
Glaco lasts as long as you want it to, 3 months at least
OK, that convinced me... Bought the kit to give it a try.
My 17yr old glass sparkles at the mo as I’ve just washed it and put it back in garage as I’ve a new toy to clean now, will definitely be looking at getting this product,I use that invisible glass cleaner works a treat I reckon then gyeon wet coat over the top just beads like mad
Mine has been on 6 months & still working perfectly
I'll be buying this for both our cars with now we're entering into winter, Great video !
First time viewer. I'm very impressed with your diction and vocabulary. I can tell you are a well read man.
Or I always have the thesaurus handy 👀
@@CarCleaningGuru Humble too. Now you're just showing off :)
Was going to get this stuff a while ago but wasn’t too sure. You’ve explained and shown how to use it pretty thoroughly and just ordered the kit.
applied this some time ago and its amazing. the dirt just doesnt stick to the glass....1 month in of terrible weather and the glass is still spotless.
interesting that you applied yours like i had, post wash...so glass was wet when doing the compound. Seems like many do this on dry windows... but ive done both, and thus far see no difference in the durability of the coating.
Love Glaco, got a saloon so handy for glass with no wipers!
Swipers of smut! 😂 love it.
Top content as always 👌
Any type of car wax will also work on car windows,i use it all the time. PERFECT!!
Didn't expect to see a CRZ in this random youtube video. Nice!
Sunroof, Mugen kit, two-tone, and a remus exhaust! She's a true beauty.
Just needs some power to back up the looks!
Would be an easy sell as an auto glass technician, people would absolutely love this on a brand new windshield.
The best rain repellent I used was H2GO. I went overboard with the cleaning stage, prior to the application. I then followed exactly to the letter what the instructions for application were. It lasted absolutely ages, far longer than what others were saying and I was getting the repellency at about 15 mph so less than the 20 mph stated. It was amazing. I put it on a new car that I asked not to have cleaned or waxed etc. Maybe that helped, as well as the preparation. The only negative was the rubbish bottle that it came in. It broke easily and leaked, wasting a bit of the product.
Convincing... Just ordered a Glaco kit. Appreciate how informative your videos are. 👍🏁
Did it work or just more youtubers shilling medicore products via paid adverts?
@@FJB2020 Glaco is the best rain repellent and rain x is not close to the performance of glaco, well pleased.
Excellent job as always 👌
Just ordered Glaco Just ordered 👌
Nice episode with a beautiful finish on the glass! Also, enjoyed the dash-cam shots. I thought we were the only ones that have goof-bag drivers.
First time viewer! Great video and really makes me feel I can go do this myself!
Hi Joe, loving the montages at the end, absolutely brilliant. I've got a GTechniq coating on my glass which works well but causes my windscreen wipers to judder. I could be wrong, but once the novelty has worn off, I think that a lot of people prefer to be windscreen wiper peasants, after all.
I had similar. Did you apply any of the coating to the wiper blades themselves?
@@jakepocock1616 I did indeed, but didn't stop the judder. I should add that these are Bosch wiper blades, the big floppy ones. BMW OEM wipers are fine and don't judder but don't perform quite as well. I probably should by a new pair but am being stubborn (AKA stupid) because I bought the Bosch ones for their better performance.
Make sure you clean your wiper blades too. I use magic eraser pads which are melamine and these remove all the stuff clinging to the wiper rubbers that can contribute to judder.
Those seagulls seemed to be getting excited about the shine off your glass aswell 😅 great video as always and had me in stitches.
Great video again, been looking for something like this to have a pop at my 15 year old A3 glass which is sadly looking its age! Added this to the list, thanks mate
Thanks for sharing, some great information in the video regarding the product 👌
You take better care of a car than a mom with her baby! Awesome video, thanks
It’s been a while since I last watched one of your videos (UA-cam seems to think I’m not interested) , I realise now just how much I missed your attention to detail, your humour and your charming accent.
Cheers UA-cam 🙄👍
Did you experience any wiper judder (not that you'd need to use them much!) after applying the product?
Great video. Just bought the Glaco kit for my two VWs. Thanks for sharing!
Great kit! Amazing results on one of my VWs. Remember to use that damp cloth folks when taking off the sealant.
I would LOVE to try it. My black car will appreciate it!!
Awesome little car and awesome product!!!
Just applied to my truck. Will have to see how it gets on.
I'd just like to show appreciation for the phrase "cack handed cross contamination" 😁
Good. Carry on.
Gyeon ceramic spray does exactly the same as this, also its x2 faster, apply to a washed wet panel, rinse, dry, done.
I'd probably recommend wiping the glass compound off with a wet microfiber to get the excess off first, rather than pressure washing it. It goes EVERYWHERE! Still find residue from from making that mistake months ago 🤣
I'm curious how the product behaves when using your actual wipers, in my car any trace of any hydrophobic product on the windscreen and the wipers immediately squeak and on shudder to a major extent. Not sure if this car just applies ridiculous pressure to the blades but my previous car was the same.
"minimum amount of elbow grease" - veins popping in his bicep, car shaking like in GTA San Andreas :D #
Bought this kit few weeks ago but haven't gotten to applying it yet, now I just might. Thanks Guru
Haha I have to go full psycho mode to get the pristine after shots!
Wow. Impressive detailing and products! I'll def give it a try.
This is neat, I have always used toothpaste as my decon then a polish to finish. Almost never use the wipers and when I do they are silent when in use. Peace!
I miss when rainx was this good
And their windshield wipers were really good as well.
Been using glaco/soft 99 for a couple of years now. Excellent products for a nice price.
I bet you was panicking when those seagulls were flying overhead!. Good video by the way thanks👍
I find Barkeepers Friend works exceedingly well on glass and removes the hard mineral build up (which causes auto wipers to go crazy) with ease. Keeping the mineral deposits off though... haven't found anything yet.
IMPORTANT - These things like Rain X (£5) are amazing for glasses and rain X anti fog. My mate discovered it during lockdown when wearing masks. It made my life a lot better when I applied it to my own glasses. Rain runs off them and the inside of the glasses do not fog at all from condensation in the air and from your breath. Best £5 I ever spent, well another £5 for the anti fog
Wish we got this product in South Africa. It looks great
this was a really great video, mate. thanks!
Love your Channel ❤
From the US !
Great video and love the new look of the channel. Any personal comparisons with RainX? Keep up the great work mate
Just a heads up, you can purchase OPTICAL GRADE CERIUM OXIDE GLASS POLISHING POWDER on the cheap by the bag/box with no need for premixed product for a fraction of the cost and will last a very very long time. You can mix up as much as you need and for deeper windshield wiper scratches you can you a power buffer to polish those out.. It can make a mess when mechanically polishing glass and possibly scratch paint with the over-splash when polishing glass. So covering paint surfaces with a plastic sheet is recommended.
Anyone remember ducksback? I still have some boxes somewhere.. squeeze to break the glass then cover.
Also dodojuice supernatural glass sealant was my favourite, although rather difficult to apply initially.
People overlook the importance of a glass product to sheet the rain. I used this before and going on 80 mph on the highway in the rain, I never used the windshield wipers. Makes you realize how distracting they actually are after you drive without them.
You are the DIY Perks channel for cars
4M+ subs from 113 videos insane 😱
Looks great, but it just looks the same as RainX to be honest with more work.
Best combo imo been using them for awhile now
Glass exfoliation… I like it!
your videos make me want to buy every single product you feature hahaha
"wettest July on dodgy record" - Good man, had me in stitches 😂😂😂
Cheers mate. Going to do this to my Tesla
That soft 99 is good stuff 👌
I hate using my wipers, using a similar product to that and yeah, if water is sitting in the windscreen, a quick tap on the brakes will usually run it forward off the roof and clear the windscreen lol.
Same with if its actually raining rather than sprinkling, same deal... the rain will also clear the windscreen.
Brilliant videos as ever! Please do more new ones!
I'll have to give this a try on my Jeep!
I used turtle wax clearvue glass coating, I put it on the night before a roadtrip and next day it was phenomenal for the whole day, then week later you can barely tell if its there or not, not great, lots of work to put on just to find it doesnt last
Nice vid guru
Is there a product that you know of that will bring back the shine to the hood and roof of my truck? it seems to have faded but the sides all still look great.
This is unbelievable! If you dont mind me asking, how long does it take for me to reapply? Is it within 6 months or 1 year or 2 years?
Rain-X (the dedicated application, not the clean-and-protect combined stuff) works great for this too, and is in most stores - a $10 bottle covers like 5 cars for me. Though I can definitely believe the stripping compound helps, and it would explain some difficulty I've had in the past.
As a plus on this kind of stuff in northern climates: it's *amazing* at preventing ice from sticking. Scraping windows all winter is absolutely trivial with a good application, it just cracks and falls right off. You can hardly call it "scraping", often just a whack with your fist and then brushing it off will be good enough.
Personally, as a lazy person: I stick one of those furry buffing pads on a drill to work it in. Much faster and less tiring, I've had consistently good results unlike by hand, and it cleans off the pad after a couple washes and can be reused.
I’ve been using autoglym glass polish and rain x hydrophobic coating for over 10 years now to achieve basically identical results. Is this Glaco product substantially different in terms of performance or longevity?
do you know if theres anyways to get rid of scratches from glass ?
11:00 that will be the gulls telling each other they have spotted some lovely clean car windows to aim at :o)
I applied a similar product to my windshield and after I was able to drive in a stormy rain without turning on the cleaners!
Boom!
I would love to know what you think of car pro’s fly by forte kit. Love from France !
Nice video, how does the product stand up compared to the readily available Rain-X
great review. Just bought all 3 products to try
ceramic glass compound works well and is also cheap. Gtechnic "claims" 20,000miles of protection. Its been on my car for 3 months and still performs like day one.
I think you could even save more product by spreading it on a 0000 steel wool pad. The felt pad is nice but being attached to the bottle you are bound to use more than you need right?
Might be a silly question but can this product be used on windows in a house? Would be nice to see this same effect on the windows when it rains!
I have to use a ppg kit to do this to aircraft at work. The polishing slurry Is a major pain
Great video and review. I am curious though how this compares to a proper ceramic coating?
I’m going to try this on my Civic ✌️👍
