I used to play football for Kansas State in 2012 and now I’m a CFI! Flew out of that airport on 767’s many times for games! Was always a blast with how powerful the takeoff was.

Ahh Hays, Kansas. Never made it out there, but I was in training with Mesa Airlines/Air Midwest on 9/11 and had been awarded Hays, KS (as a BE-1900 first officer) as my base. By the time Mesa got around to recalling me after the furloughs, they again were offering the Hays, KS base. I did not take the recall as I had been awarded a captain upgrade on the BE-1900 with an Albany, NY base with another airline.
Just purchased the Carenado Citation on x plane 11 and these videos are my go to while I’m simming. Lol I fly helicopters in real life but always had a love for the citation. So sim is my playground. 👍🏻
Being out of the cockpit for so long, it is interesting to see that approach plates still have value. This considering all of the electronic assistance available to today. Thanks for giving up the right seat view, Captain.
Loved seeing you playing nice with the Cherokee and doing the 360 to fit in. So much better than barging straight in and making everyone in the pattern scatter. Says a lot about you, sir!
captmoonbeam - exactly my point! Instead of forcing him to accommodate you so you could do a straight in, you maneuvered so that you fit smoothly into the pattern. Kudos!
Busy day there! Thanks for taking us along. It always blows my mind how FLAT the Midwest is - 180° opposite of the Northeast here. Loved the shots of those Warthogs coming in! 👍👍
@@captmoonbeam - I'll never forget the first time I drove across the TX panhandle on I-40 about 20 years ago - I had never seen a horizon so big in my life. Sun seemed to set later, and rise earlier. I was amazed! BIG sky!

Six legs Jim - qualifies you as a member of the insect species LOL. Seriously, that's a lot of flying even if shorter type hops - busy day. Never fail to acknowledge just how vital the ATC guys are. I have an S9 - love it. Tend to think, paperwork must be the biggest PITA sometimes! That file binder is well filled. Seemed very little snow at Manhattan. Great video Jim, thanks. :)
My instructor/cousin who flew a Citation for an Iron company and would let my fly in right seat when his normal copilot could not go. This flight reminds me of a Sunday trip where we made several stops picking up executives for a Monday meeting.
Busy, busy but looks like a bunch of fun. Sort of like a livery limo run. Wasn't aware those weights were necessary. Suppose that really comes in handy when you're a single, lightly loaded on snow/ice-packed twy turning. Stay well, sir!
Fantastic edit as always with an awesome smorgasbord of fun facts in the intro. Windshield : de-iced by hot bleed air from the engines with up to 10 minutes of alcohol spray as a backup. BUT, the alcohol MUST be applied BEFORE entering icing conditions because the alcohol will not remove ice once it's on the windshield. Landing lights @0:42 look a lot more stylish than I expected. Co-Pilots pitot tube, just a quick glance @0:45 Angle of Attack, the mini wing @0:46? Feel like I should know this by now. LED Ice Inspection Light. I'm always impressed by your fun facts Jim. Thanks for sharing your landings. I really enjoyed the angle you caught on the last landing @20:19 showing both outside the cockpit and the Garmin synthetic vision (I think that's what it is called). Very cool but I'm not sure I would want to be my life on it. Hope you have a great day Jim !
thanks. I have a tendency to get tongue tied when I talk about that stuff. When I go back and look at the clips I cringe a little. for example, the hydraulic pressure for the brakes is trapped in the break line not the pedals. I addition every light on the M2 is LED. I love that.
Another excellent video, calm, slow and without stress. I like it a lot, because apart from letting us know the flights, we participate in your thoughts as a person. Hey Capt, I could have suggested some good, quality (well, that may be a stretch) company, for that right seat ! hee, hee..😁 Don’t ever feel like you have to fly alone, as long as there are dedicated viewers like me out here, more than willing to hop in ! Great video as always, safe skies !

You are an excellent pilot Sir. Thanks for the videos. Much appreciated. 😊

The atc in Manhattan was very nice. He kept saying sorry about that 360. We need controllers like him.
He was great and he really had no choice. He wasn't talking to the aircraft, I couldn't see him and he was below me. Always better safe than sorry.
