Stay safe Captain Moonbeam. Glad to know you're doing OK. All the best to you and your family.
thanks and I hope you andy yours are doing well this morning.
@@captmoonbeam Doing fine Jim. Furloughed and on the job hunt. Staying active and positive until something comes up.
As a retired corporate pilot whenever I watch one of your videos I find myself missing that life. But, with times being what they are right now, I’m actually glad I retired when I did.
If you believe that I have a nice little bridge between Brooklyn and Manhattan I can let you have for a song.
Happy flying!!
That is one big jet!
I love these, especially with the Challenger 300, a cracking beauty of an airplane.
I like to go back and watch these from time to time. Your videos motivated me to go on and get a CE-500 type. Thanks.
"...was feeling like we still had a window open." and I burst out laughing, as did you pilot. Damn, I hate being at 23000 with a window open.
Somehow this one slipped by me! Love the "Mighty Challenger" and the pilot flying's face when Tower said it.
The controllers at KSTL TRACON are likely confusing your call sign because Enterprise has a jet based out of Lambert with a similar callsign N57EL...
My flight instructor thirty years ago used to tell me on solo flights to keep the dirty side down. Ill never forget how wise he was
Thanks for another Challenger video. I love that plane if you have anymore would love to see them Jim. Hope you and the family are doing well during these unusual times. Do you know when you are going to start flying again?
Thanks Jim! Hope you are all doing ok! Great video once again!
"... gotta be down there somewhere." I like Jeff.
love the flights in the challenger. It would be cool if u kinda showed us your OFP. SO fuel you're taking time enroute etc... None the less awesome video
Thanks for the idea Drew.
I love your flights & videos
Liking the look of the backwards headset.
Nice as always Jim! Glad to see you again!
Hey Captain, It looks like you have your Bose headset on backwards on this video. Left seat pilot seems to have the on correctly.
Right hand on the throttle after rotation there, Sparky.
Hi Jim - interesting to see inside the Bombardier cockpit. Sure sounded cold for Vegas.
Hope you and family all doing OK after all these crazy weeks. Glad to share that trip.
Thanks Chris. these are crazy times aren't they.
Good to see you guys. How's Mike doing? Take care and you guys stay safe.
Great video Jim, as always. You are living my dream ! Fly safe and I'm already looking forward to your next video.👍🛩
Hi Greg. I'm working on the return flight of this trip right now.
captmoonbeam Great Jim, can’t wait !👌
Great vid. The numbers on the 300/350 look impressive. Always wanted to fly one. I hear they fly better than the 600 series CL that I fly.
Glad to see you back! Hope all is well
It is and always great to be back.
We're looking forward to posting a lot more!
Nice flight!
I hope you are doing well and not effected by this virus problem. Please stay safe and fly well.
I enjoyed the video as I always do. I wish you could post more videos. Stay safe and healthy Jim. Fred from Houston
Hi Fred. With so little flying There's not much to post. This video was from a flight over 3 months ago that I had decided to skip due to a lack of clips. I had to get creative to make it work.. The second part of it will go up Monday or sooner.
I hope we get back to normal soon !!!
So do I.
Ohh Captain! There is no Flight with you on C300 as PF??
$300 Porterhouse 🥩 on a bun 🍔! 😂 It's always fun and scenic to fly out to LosWages!
I was tempted but, at the last moment I switched to the cheese burger.
I left $75 of my "LosWages" there back around 1972. Has anybody found it?
Challenger 300 is a great aircraft! If you ever see us in 729JF be sure to say hello!
Interested in charters where civies are worn and not airline uniform. You had 8 passengers???
Thanks Cap
Why is the top of the instrument panel not fastened down?
Greetings captain!, haven’t been around for a while...stay safe skipper.
Wow, FL430. That's up there!
Glad to see you guys got some flight time. Be safe.
Thanks John. You do the same.
So unusual hearing the English guy with you and Iam English great work together Captain Moonbeam
Hi Paul. Jeff and I were just talking about how we could do a live stream like we've done on Instagram on UA-cam.
Cool job
Keep the videos coming... love the challenger.. that’s my favorite aircraft.
Will do.
Couple things… That avionics package on the Challenger is amazing! One of my favorites! Also the hotel… I see that the signature a couple times and loved it! Also… Did you even touch down on that landing ha ha?
It's pretty cool. I like the Signature also. very convenient.
What a kick ass airplane!
The 300 is simply a damn good looking aircraft with room and comfort. When I win the Lotto . . .
Great video Jim! How are you and your family doing?
Thanks, doing well.
I wonder when Vegas will roll out of the lock down it can not go on much longer. Stay safe.
Very nice done video Capt. thank you so much!
Very welcome
Another great video. I always enjoy them. Thanks for sharing.
I enjoyed hearing the checklists. We used to use them in manufacturing.
Lovely having a straight talking Englishman in the cockpit with you Jim! Hope you're all keeping well and that you'll be back flying soon.
Hi Jason. I would love a couple of nice flights. Ready to get back to it.
@@captmoonbeam Hi Jim, we can resume leisure flights here in the UK but unfortunately my aircraft needs its permit release check flight which I need my CFI to complete - hoping he'll do that Monday so should be back to flight status by the end of next week.
Do please keep us posted when you get back airborne again and progress on getting finished off on the Challenger. Best wishes Jason.
Thanks capt
Another good one sir! Thanks!
Jim, are you ever pilot flying in the Challenger? I always see Jeff PF in these videos. Good stuff as always!
I was wondering the same. Great flight.
I always enjoyed your videos with Mike, but these with Geoff are somehow better! He seems more comfortable being in the videos which adds another dimension to your content - the interaction between the 2 of you, it's great to watch.
Thanks
Any reason why you are always right seat in the Challenger?
Been 20 years since I was in Vegas! Got to celebrate the turn of the Millennium there. Crazy time! I've never seen such a large sum of money vaporize right before my eyes. My first time ever using an ATM machine. I can still feel the despair from that. 😂 Was a once in a lifetime adventure I'll never forget, though!
Thanks for sharing, Jim. Things are starting to get back to normal out here in MA. Wife will be back to work cutting hair this Tuesday. I told her to be careful - there may be a stampede at the salon.🤣
Jeez. He looked a bit stressed with the touchdown!😳
I'm not stressed, the concentration level is always at it's highest. Theres a lot going on and its a pivotal time for the customer experience!
He always looks that way.
Can go bad at S&W. Really nice video, be well, be safe...
Love the challenger videos
Thank you very much by the way my niece wants to say hello to you she’s the one that thinks you look like her chemistry teacher she just wanted to say hi and have a good weekend
Hi Brad. Say hi to her and I hope you guys have a great weekend.
captmoonbeam We certainly will sure thank you for your reply
Captain, is there still a Smith and Wolinsky near the MGM. It had a seating area outside near the sidewalk as well as one inside. They were proud of their steaks and atmosphere. How much was the burger.
Ruth Chris or Maestros is wayyy better IMHO.
Great vlog as always! I hope you and the family are keeping well! Is it possible for you to give us a small tour of the cabin of the Challenger? We can then make a comparison to the Citation? Also, would you be looking to fly the left seat on the Challenger?
It's French and it is sweet too. Fun fun!
Another awesome video!!
thanks
Hey Man, The Fuel Transfer Segment Was Good But ATC & The Glare Kind Of Left A Booger On It. Love Your Stuff, Though . . .
Super nice
Nice flight thanks for sharing. Stay safe until next time 😁
Thanks Kevin. You stay safe also.
Ho many hours of flight time in the right seat will you need until you can make your check flight as captain on the Challenger, Jim?
Hi Jim🙋♂️
Nice to seeing you again 👌
Hey Big D.. Good to have you back also.
@@captmoonbeam thanks, I'm glad you are well,, stay safe 🙏😷😉
Do you ever get passengers that want to be in your videos?
Dooooooode.... Please tell me there is a transmit switch other than the one on the yoke😬
Cold air = Better engine performance !
That’s all you get is cold air high above.
@@richardberger326 YesSir you are correct.
Capt was advised about the climb power twice, He replied working on it. What would he be waiting for?
He's not waiting. He's in the process of dealing with it but has not yet reached the epitome of his desires.
lol ok so he was waiting for a while then.
Great question Neil, Basically the aircraft prohibits use of takeoff power for more than 5 minutes, so the checklist is quite keen on it: That being said use of 'full' climb power is inappropriate in many operations as it gives wholly inappropriately high speeds and/or rates of climb. Maximum climb power is actually cleared for use throughout the flight at operational discretion.
Loved the flight, Loved the pilots, Loved the Challenger, keep up the great videos. Was this a recent flight? Looks like allot of people in Vegas.
Thanks Anne. It was very crowded. This was Febuary 14th before anything had shut down.
captmoonbeam Hello captain, I see that nobody cares in Las Vegas for COVID 19
You will have to show us how the fuel transfer went the sun was covering up the screen.
Why did he land left of cenrtline?
"Need to stay out of jail!" Haha! Pilots are dangerous when not flying!
There's gotta be a story there...
Great vid! Vegas is fun!
Thanks Kevin. it's fun to visit but, always glad to go home.
Do you ever get to be the pilot flying in the Challenger?
I've never had WAGYU (it means Japanese cow) but I've heard that it's amazing.
Enought to make anyone smile...Follow the mighty Challenger...
Hi Jim,
Does the average corporate pilot suffer financially with this current aviation shutdown? Are many pilots on a salary?
Why do other aircraft get cleared to land in the U.S when you haven’t landed or cleared the runway yet?
As long as ATC has their required spacing, they can clear others to land.
Does Jeff have a youtube channel?
Wonder if your ever going to be pilot in command on the Challenger?
Not unless something changes. I'm only getting a flight in it every other month and It's last flight was over three months ago.
Hope you get more time.
What ever happened to the younger copilot you flew with in a few videos?
That's Olen. He has an aircraft management company with a Challenger and a CJ3. He's very busy
Another excellent video.
thanks John.
hey what company do you work for and do they offer like charter flights?
I'm not a pilot. It looks like everything in this jet could be handled by a single pilot. What are the advantages of using two pilots for this jet? Thank you.
Another great question. In short: It's big! Maybe you could fly it single crew, but you can barely see the on- side wingtip let alone the opposite one. It's a long range aircraft and imagine your trouble if you had to fight a fire down the back?! These guys paid out the wazoo for a jet with 2 Engines, 3, Hydraulic systems, 3 Generators etc, etc, so why would you fly it with one Central Nervous System, One Respiratory system etc etc?
Stay safe Capt : )
Does leaving the APU on until well after takeoff and starting it again on approach allow you to offload the main engines a little? Do you shed more than electrical load to the APU? Curious minds want to know. Thanks.
Yes, the APU generator shares the load with the right engine generator, Also you avoid shedding the AUX Busses (basically everything in the cabin) in the event of an engine driven generator failure. The APU is also an additional source of intermediate pressure bleed air, so we get better takeoff and climb performance since we don't have to use the engine bleeds to run the air conditioning and pressurization. Also, (God Forbid) if we had a double flameout we can use the APU bleed air to energize the Air Turbine Starters since no engine bleeds would be available in this case.
Nice video. Are you never PF on the Challenger? And if you’re not, the reason for that?
I've been flying empty legs.. But it just doesn't fly much.
Thanks a lot 👍 Stay safe :)
I don't fly the Excel with passengers on it, thats not because I'm about to embarrass myself but because I care about my customers. Jim is very experienced in large aircraft and I have some numbers in Citation too products but this isn't a macho situation, it's about recency as well as experience. We're providing a service to our clients and their comfort and safety is paramount. Jim handles the Challenger expertly and, not only would I trust my family with him, I look forward to him posting a video of an empty leg with Jim driving the CL300!
Nice airplane!
New job?
Jet is going to like the cold.
Am I the one to notice you are wearing the A20 the wrong way around? 😅
2 degrees it’s 98 degrees in Tampa today.🥵
I see the $300 Porterhouse Steaks came on a bun. Small steak...you got ripped off. Lol.
Derbyshire accent?
Wow a hamburger at S&W, you big spender! Stay safe.
Thanks. Maybe next time I'll have the porterhouse.
OMG, 300 dollar porterhouse, you have to go to the casino and win a jackpot so you can eat. lol.
Thanks Capt! I bet you wish your wife could join you on all these fun excursions...I meant work trips 😂 Have a good 1 from KMGM
