Yes these things are so vigorous that I usually wait to do work on them until after they flower. They put out 2-3 flushes of growth throughout the season.

It would have been kind of awkward if you forgot to plant the rock in a rock planting 😂but I’m surprised it hasn’t gripped the rock yet. Hopefully soon 👍
@@BostonBonsaiIdiot You won't believe it but I'm just about to start the big chop season...!!! I am building my mame and shohin collection with pending arrival of giant pyracantha and ash with trunks with 6-8inch diameter. I'm a little scared as I have no big bonsai.
