John the big problem you have and you even mentioned is the outer shoulder getting shredded. This is because the suspensions setup is not very good for track use. As you turn in the tyre rolls over and most of the weight ends up on the outer shoulder scrubbing the rubber away. My advise is to spend some money on a coilover setup with camber adjustable top mounts to give you more neg camber, this will help the tyre to roll more centrally across the tyre and massively reduce the outer shoulder getting destroyed. I’ve recently had huge problems with the factory fitted 235/35/19 Bridgestone S005 tyres fitted to my 2020 M135i, they have suffered from extremely abnormal uneven wear even though they are at the recommended pressures and the car was not driven hard, they were worn (feathered and stepped) which included weird centre wear in only 4600 miles, BMW are currently investigating the issue in parallel with Bridgestone as it is not an isolated issue, Bridgestone say they are not compatible with the cars set up even though they are star marked and fitted at factory, I’ll never buy Bridgestone tyres again after this experience and cost of new Pzero PZ4’s, I’m sure that if I had used the S005’s on track they would have done exactly the same as the sports, Bridgestone UK told BMW (as part of my open warranty claim) that the S005’s are too soft a compound for these cars.
My 2019 Nissan 370Z sport coupe came with the Bridgestone Potenza S007 which was a great handling tire. The only drawbacks were the high rate of tread wear and the excessive wear on the outside of the tread on the front tires after a spirited drive through the mountains in Northern California. These are the worst tires. I’m taking them off of my Infiniti tomorrow!
you forgot the P Zero and P Zero Corsa
PZero and PZ4 (front only) could be sourced. I don't think the Corsas are available [EDIT: in these sizes ]
Firestone Indy 500 Yokohama Adnan or Radar Dimax R8 plus might be more durable
Goodyear f1 as5 for me
Tires are cheap over there. They're about twice as expensive in the US.
But fuel costs lots more here
Definitely not for track use!
Driving too hard on the track??? You're on the track! WTF would say that? Are those the folks who also said you're holding your phone wrong?
31 and 32 psi? That's a little low for a street tyre on track. I run 35 on all four.
Btw: You can fit 235/40R18 on the rear rims. Increases your options.
Need more front camber.. you can't blame the tyre for that.
Said same thing in video but also said other performance options have not melted after 1 session with stock setup
They need heat. Assymetric 5/6 still a better all round tyre and feel like a UHP tyre should unlike PS4/PS5.
They melt on track. How this got through testing is beyond my comprehension.

Track tyres are for the track. Not sure why you haven’t worked this out?
These tires have great grip. No life. Wore out a set in 12000. Do buy for your daily.
you did better than me mate I wore out my front in about 5-10 laps on a track.
@@ForensicDetailing Wow that’s horrible and expensive. I’ll never buy another Bridgestone tire again.
“Welsh Glens” I’m presuming that’s a person and not a geographical description?
Taking everything into consideration, Performance/grip, Wet grip, Wear, Road noise, Comfort, Price.
PS4 for me every time.
Not tried these though Jon, although my car did have Potenza RFT's on when I got it, utter shyte mate.
Personally wouldn't touch Bridgestone with a barge pole . Michelin PS4 Oon my GTI .
I have PS4 ZP tires on my E63 630i and they make the car floaty. The Potenza RE050 tires used to be more sporty and responsive. Unfortunately they were discontinued.
Looks like they would suit a lighter car, looks like the load was too high. The rippled/pealed effect is common on certain types of tyre like Pirelli Trofeo R’s, also the wear looks similar… with the Trofeo they get better as the tread wears down to almost a slick… it might have been worth pushing on a bit more and seeing if the wear slows and grip increases but understand this is hard on a road car where you have to drive home after the day.
There's a major issue with this tyre
Ah Shit. They ran out of ps4s where I am and only has BS protenza sport. Not even delivered to me yet but already have buyers remorse. Not that I had much choice. Coming from falkren fk510 which has gone up in price. Sucks for me
Kumho ps91 if your s track guy
@@ForensicDetailing hello,
Can you tell me please, what do you recomand for a new Passat B8 with 220 hp? 235 45 R18. I only run on the street, but pretty fast.
I have a choice between:
1 Hankook s1 evo3
2 Falken Azenis fk 510
3 Pirelli pz4
4 Kumho ps 71
5 Bridgestone Potenza Sport
6 Nexen NFera sport 2.
Best regards ! 😁
Pilot Sport 4S cant beat them
Yeh they are a lot more money and they have limited sizes my Mazda has 17s and can't get the ps4s
TPMS monitors are not accurate either,.
Bono, I have lost the tyres.

do you have a job?
Zzzz
@@martin1649 Yes, A ‘job’ getting up in the morning I suspect! 🤣
What a stupid video you can’t review these on just one car’s performance all cars are different and different people drive different
Possibly yes.. hence me saying what the review was based on and take it as a finger in the wind. And see tyre reviews for the really good reviews
Speaking in your own words: "What a stupid comment!" This is not a tyre review, this is Jon's personal issue he is experienced and wanted to share with us! Don't like don't watch.... simple....
@@aleksrodinshow would I know if I like it or not before I watch it knob head it’s my opinion keep yours to your self
@@iantitley7116 if you watched the video how come you didn’t hear Jon’s disclaimer, muppet? Of course only your opinion matters, everyone else has to keep it quiet? Don’t tell me or anyone else what to do!
What on earth has this got to do with detailing?Next time I visit a tyre shop I will ask "can I have a haircut please"
nothing but only a real idiot would read the title and think it had something to do with detailing. If you need your hair cut the sign on their premises will say hair dresser or barbers etc.. not tyre shop. this could be the dumbest comment ive ever read in 5 years of doing YT.
@@ForensicDetailing just in case your wondering I got a thumbs up Work it out yourself clever dick
That's one hell of an achievement I'm proud of you champ... Move on now
Seriously???
You're proud of ONE like? 😂 That's pathetic!
