It blows my mind that Ubisoft didn't release the e3 version or made a next gen version for modern consoles, it'd definitely bring the series back to popularity
Or just have it on the pc version as ultra settings, why remove them?
@@V3RAC1TYthey downgraded the game because consoles couldn’t handle it maybe it could’ve looked a little better if they didn’t release on the 360 and ps3 too
@@V3RAC1TY The funny thing is the files and the framework for the E3 version do actually exist on the PC release and always had. You can enable them by editing a few values in the engine and the game's ini files.
This is purely an assumption from me but I kinda wonder if the watch dogs movie that is being made will lead to a remake or remaster of the original game (and hopefully we will get the true version now that current consoles essentially beg for it). I don't know which one I would want tbh....a wd4 or wd remaster that looks like what we were promised. I'm hoping one will lead to the other and I wouldn't have to choose lol

Update: Both these mods are awesome, i am now on my 3rd playthrough.
I just completed this again, this time with the E3 graphics unlocked. THEY ARE IN THE GAME code, just disabled, and it looks fantastic. GOOGLE The Worse Mod and you'll see that the graphics effects like real wind, bokeh depth of field etc, HDR for shadow and a metric ton of other effects were left in the game, just locked away. These effects were disabled because consoles (even many PCs) in 2014 were crashing when playing the E3 build.😢

I do t care about downgrade. Watchdogs is 1 of my all time fav games. I simply loved it. Especially 1v1 online hacking. I was absolutely gutted that I hated 2 and legion.

Wd-2 was an improve gameplay wise from Wd-1.But legion downgraded everything that was good in both Wd games.

@@installshieldwizard3017i agree it was fun gameplay was great characters were great too but i enjoyed the story and darker tone of the first game over the whole deadsec thing, its clear they wanted to lighten up the mood with the second game

i installed both reimaging and graphics mod, im using shaders from graphics mod rn and patch is from reimaging

I installed the mod and it was completely broken. I loaded up the game and all i could see is aiden shooting all of the guns and i couldn't stop him he just kept firing and firing, the mod i installed was the E3 Reimagining, it would be nice to know if i put specific mods in the wrong folders or places.

This is misinformation. I don't know where you got the " PC Ultra " video but I am going to assume that the player was either playing at a low resolution with AA off because he got a trash rig, or the game isn't actually on max settings. Also, back in the day there wasn't good enough hardware to properly run this on the highest settings possible at even 1080p. I'm saying this because I recently played it on my rtx 4080 at 4k with everything maxed including AA and the game looks as good ( if not better ) as the gameplay trailer. The only difference I noticed is that the smoke is missing in Defalt's club and there are less flying leaves on the streets.

Legions was horrible. Only Aiden and Wrench’s DLC saved that mess.
But ideally, whether we got the E3 version of 1 or not it’s still an amazing storyline and game.

You seem. Most of people's dont under that ps3s and pcs back then would not been able to pull it with that graphics. And the game is superpower complex
when i see "it not same as the initial trailer", my first thought is console back then cant handle the graphics, so they need to downgrade it. even for PC, if i recall back then 2014 not many people dont have access to powerful rig yet
but yeah, im still enjoy the game during it prime. replay game 3 times with highest difficulty

Return the game for the graphics hahaha, that's wrong, it's a great game with an excellent story, serious and dark, the Lore it has is quite good and Aiden Pearce is scary
I don't regret anything, and the graphics didn't disappoint me, it's the least important thing to me
It's incredible how different Watch Dogs 1 is from its sequels, very bad and forgettable in my opinion, only the gameplay is decent
i've bookmarked the nexus mods page you link and when I feel to replay WD1 I'll mod this in since it is sad that they push the graphics to a turd than advertised (currently first playing through Assassin's Creed 1 and going to play each main release)

So much crying about a game that looks amazing even without the mod, and the history is good, Ainden pierce is good, return the game because the graphics wasn't 10/10....... Man...
Didn’t live up to the hype for me back in the day but everyone has their view
Maaaan i was sure from all the hate and comparison to GTA V that it has to be shit. Turned out that it's amazing. Aiden Pierce is top tier protagonist, the best portrayal of vigilante ever - he is twisted, almost autistic in a way, he has his code of honor, his rules, he is like Ted Kaczynski of sort. Not an easy character, not instantly likeable, but damn an actuall kinda realistic (psychologicaly) superhero. The game might lacks physics of GTA but the city itself is a work of art, very realistic in it's proportion, beautiful (especialy downtown parts near the river), and very alive. Game mechanics never meant to copy gta, instead we got amazing hacking with top tier combat that plays like John Wick movie. I love first Watchdogs, like many ubisoft titles it's misunderstood, but overall i would say it's their most underrated game. And i agree it's beautiful even without mods - even more bland moments with washed out colors makes other moments stand out so much in comparison. Yeah the game had a bit too enthusiastic gameplay trailer, but ulitimately it's still delivered and i can somewhat forgive them because it was made before they could tap to full potential of next gen, and Watchdogs even recived in my opinion decent 360 port (and not so decent ps3 one).
But damn even the simple walking animation... Aiden is like an alien in comparison to rest, he fails so miserably to fit in, yet it fits so well.
Amazing title, there will be a time when people will re-discover it, and cherrish it as a classic.
It had style, it had direction, it had the story. Love it!

It’s so they attract people to it, but it loses a lot of trust and loyalty when company’s do it, but these big companies know they we will still buy there games no matter what. Look at cod they have brought out the same game reskinned many times and we fall for it

Fact: game was downgraded because consoles at the time couldn't run the game with graphics shown on e3, they didn't want it to be unfair for PC to get better graphics then console so they choose them to be equal

It's funny but all those E3 downgrade games look better than almost anything that's come out this generation so far , Witcher 3 , ghost recon Wildlands and watch dogs to name a few
