Can you please help me? I'm using the complete edition and when I use the Remastered Vehicles Pack I feel an increase in Taxi density even if I use Fusion Fix.
Finally someone who actually fixes GTA 4 and not just says he "fixes it" or "remasters it" and then loads it with shitton of ULTRA REALISTIC GRAPHICS kind of mods. Good job. Respect.
I can't tell you how much this channel means to me. I am a huge fan of these games and it took me years to find a UA-camr that is as obsessed with being a purist as me. Even with the smallest details like the tree lighting being similar to consoles. Fusion fix has gotten a lot better in the last couple years and I wouldnt have known if not for this video so thanks.
I completed 100% base game + dlcs on deck using fusion fix, radio restoration, various fixes and console visuals. I appreciate so much the people who made those mods, for sure was the best experience possible. 😁
This was without a doubt the best GTA IV video I've ever seen to run it in its maximum beauty without modifying its original characteristics. Thank you for this excellent work!
Fantastic video - just purchased GTA IV on sale on Steam, started playing and was reminded of all the broken graphical effects and shaders Rockstar couldn't be arsed fixing. All I ever wanted was to be able to play GTA IV with its original visual aesthetics intact and enhanced with resolution - this is perfect... Thank you for the video and all the modders involved in this incredible Fusion compilation.
Thanks so much for making this video! Very honoured to be a part of the team behind FF and VF. Hope more people get the chance to experience GTA IV the way it was intended to be!
I wanted to thank you, i played GTAIV for the first time in December of 2023, spent all my vacations playing it and finished the main campaign with 94 hours of play time, one of my favorite games ever made, now in December of 2024 i will spend my vacations playing through both DLCs and all of this was possible because of people like you who fixed the game. I liked GTAIV so much that i always recommend it to my friends and help them set up the corresponding mods, FF and VF among them. Thank you ❤
Thanks a ton, GTA IV is on sale on Steam for about $6 now and while this will be the third time I've bought GTA IV, it's still my favorite GTA to revisit, even more so than San Andreas!
This is my favourite game of all time, the art/visual style being one of the big reasons. So glad to see there's finally fixes for all the graphical/VFX issues among other things, PC players deserve to play GTA IV as it was over a decade ago on consoles when it won the hearts of so many of us.
I'm so glad to have discovered your channel! Grabbed a copy of GTA IV CE and after following your video, it feels as if I'm playing the Definitive Version of IV :)
Ive been playing since 2008 day 1. I completed the game on the broken PC port countless times, now, i should give a try to the now ULTIMATE fixed version with mods, thanks to the modders for creating the mods and thank you for explaining and doing a full mod showcase. I appreciate it
I recently came across your videos about fixing GTA IV, and oh boy, the game now runs perfectly. DXVK + the 4 fixes in this video and so far, 0 glitches or bugs, flawless performance (FPS all the time at 60 with some rarely drop (down to 58-59)) running the game at max settings and 2K resolution, no stutters or issues.
After modding GTA 4 from watching your video, I just want to say you're a fucking godsend. Finally, a simple tutorial on how to fix the PC port. I've seen so many videos that make the process of modding GTA 4 look very tedious as well as recommending me unnecessary graphic mods. I've already played GTA 4 on my ps3 but i then decided to play the PC port and felt underwhelmed. I didn't realised PC port has a plethora of its own issues. GTA 4 is my favourite game of all time and i'd like to thank you for providing an overview, tutorial and links in the description. The console visuals were a very nice addition. The game looks way better than I remember
this video is GOATed officially tbh, GTA4 was one of those "foundational" games during my childhood and I haven't had a console in years, the PC port always felt lifeless. booting up and starting, I about cried, it felt like I was back in 2008 and ignoring the terrible family I was growing up around. thank you brother.
Thanks for making these videos! I have been following the progress of all these mods for the last year and it has been amazing. I have every mod you mentioned in this video but even I learned something new and installed newer versions of these mods as a result. It is crazy to think that I am finally playing GTA IV with all these fixes at basically 60FPS locked
I bought GTA 4 & 5 for the first time 6 months ago during the summer sales, and the latest Steam version update some weeks ago totally broke my game, I guess it's time to see what the mods have to offer. Thanks for the vid.
THANK YOU for this video! This is easily the ABSOLUTE best beginner gta 4 mod video, with all of the best mods to make the vanilla game the best it can be, in the easiest way possible. We finally get a great beginner friendly video after 15 years that doesnt tell you to unnecessarily downgrade and install 50 random closed source mods that change things you dont even understand. Thank you for this :D

Makes me stuck with the base vanilla for a while With these in mind, its basically silentpatch and skygfx easy install and i have all the base game perfect IV installs without those janky options, no need to downgrade and steam achievements worked fine too for PC Thank you for these and the community working for it, helps alot, makes IV on pc as seamless as V in terms of customizability and options

Just have to say your channel is fantastic. Your video about what version of IV to play got me back into it, was super informative, and the Vulcan mod to replace directx is really amazing. Never seen the game run this good, and in 4k too. Thanks for the great content. I have a lot of great memories with IV and it's awesome to finally be able to enjoy it on PC without all the problems.
Loved the way you explain everything.. Tried gta iv years ago, couldn't bear its shitty optimization, installed several so called gfx mod and fix, didn't help. finally found something worth trying. thanks again. time to play this beauty. Subbed. bring more stuff like this. best of luck buddy.
Oh thank you very much . This is so superb. I would like to replay this game again with these fixes. Finally as it should be . OG atmosphere with everything that should be. Even songs.
4 simple click n drag mods to make Gta IV playable? We truly live in convenient times, this game has given me such a pain in the ass throughout these years
Mate, you rock. Thank you. I hope some of these other content mods like the hit-man payphone mission mod, or the better clothes mod, can work with this. Those are just the kind of mods I've been trying to get to work without downgrading my game and risking losing achievements or save-game progress. However, these quality-of-life mods make all the difference in the world. Cheers.
YES! DXVK is the truth. Went from stutters/choppiness to perfectly 150+fps smooth with this fix, thank you and thanks to the modding community - they made VC, SA and IV all extremely playable in 2023.
Whelp this helped me tremendously.. 144 solid fps on a medium to high settings mix. Awesome fixes and awesome vid! Definitely earned a sub! Thanks to your great work in spreading the word I can now enjoy the game fully. Thank you and thanks to all that have worked on these amazing mods!
Dude, its 4 folders that you need to drag and drop into the gtaiv folder. Are you that stupid or just an unknown amount of lazy ? Might be both ... Enjoy your life .
wanted to experience this game again but it has a lot of shortcomings today but these mods and fixes really enhances the experience. Thank you for the in-depth tutorials and solutions to various issues
GTA V is a much better PC port and honestly there isn't much to fix. The only thing that I'm aware of is that physics start working weird if you have more than 130fps, the fix is just to limit it to 130 or less.
@MarkoVuckovic32 interesting, I personally think the pallet of the game is way too blue, and there is a mod to make it more natural, but this is personal preference, one thing that needs to be fixed is the cops killing you for just looking at them, that's ridiculous
@@errorx_x1063 back in the good old ps3/xbox 360 era they added them to sp, in the next generations Rockstar turned out extremely greedy forcing us to buy it in game, sometimes we just want to test it :/
Thank you for this, after playing GTA IV on console and buying it PC a good while ago i followed your tutorial and it runs like a dream on PC instead of the mess I was initially greeted with.
Yo, good timing on that video, I'm kinda on a GTA Modding-Journey and want to enhance the old 3D GTA Games, aswell GTA 4. Personally I only put mods in, that keeps it faithful to the vanilla look and I also like Beta Restorations, because I really like some of them. These are really great mods! They give back the console feeling, which I growed up with. Also a good thing I know, which Radio Downgrader I have to download as there is another one on nexusmods, but I wasn't really sure, because, this was one of the options I got first, when I google it. Also thank you for this video, aswell as your previous videos on GTA in general. Your channel truly helped me massively understanding GTA Modding and being confident on troubleshooting, etc.
Thank you for this video! Very well explained. Massive thanks to the modders who made this possible, too. I'm glad that there's such a dedicated community behind this game.
Tip for anyone on a 120hz panel and just trying to run the game at 60fps. Don't set the refresh rate to 60hz, leave it at 120hz and use the in game FPS limiter that FusionFix provides. For me that has eliminated the vast majority of the stutter.
Did everything as instructed. But unfortunately, FPS is all over the place on my end… it starts at 60 fps, I drive around for some time at 60 and suddenly it goes do 30, 25, 40 fps… if I pause the game and turn off vsync, it goes to 60 again for some time, and messes again later. My pc can handle GTA IV easily, it’s just some conflict that I can’t find… I turned on Steam overlay too, but it didn’t help. Any thoughts?
Turn your settings down one notch since Fusion Fix and the improved shaders come with higher settings, keep in mind that the game is now rendering a lot more than it was before by default, if you still need to claw back more performance, go into the INI and disable things like Shadow Res Fix and Additional Movement Shadows.
@@ash735 Do I have to turn down all the settings or just the ones related to shadows? Since in my case the shadows are what's causing the issue. Oh, and where can I find this INI file? Thanks in advance, you're a legend in the GTA modding scene!
@@ash735Well, I did some tests and my problem is really DXVK. It is what causes the FPS mess - which is curious, since it is supposed to IMPROVE it, lol. I'd prefer to play the game using only Radio Downgrader, Various Fixes and Fusion Fix. Is the overhauled vehicle pack mod yours? Ive tested it once, but I got that bug where only taxis spawn... I've installed the HQ Metallic Paint instead, to make vehicles look a little bit better.
Most impacting things are shadow quality and shadow sharpness, i lowered from very High to high and "pcss" sharpness to soft and it mostly fixed the frame drops
I gotta say thanks! I started playing GTAIV agian a couple of weeks ago and used these mods. Been a blast. I had it since its release on PC and never had all the graphical effects working. Only thing I stille experience is the street lights/shadows sometimes flickering when drunk in the game and sometimes the water flickers.
👉This video guided me perfectly as I JUST wanted to improve the overall "OG GTA IV experience, and nothing too advanced!👈 A lot of modding videos are misleading or too complicated for me to care. It's exhausting scrolling through the "300 SUPER Remaster COOL MODS in JUST 500 hours" Or the: "It's Me Your Favorite Desperate Non-Original Wannabe Influencer Guy Talking In A Gaming Chair" type of videos. So I Truly Appreciate Your time & effort! You are the man!❤🔥💓❤
i dont know why but when i first loaded up the game moded it work flawlessly but when i saved and quited it adn came back it then just ran like garbage and i cant do anything about it
These files shouldn't even be called "mods" anymore, but unofficial patches and fixes for GTA IV. Not only do they restore the original essence of the game, but they greatly improve the performance as well. Gotta find the guys who made them and give them a good donation for all their work. They put Rockstar to shame.
Really nice video about mods, I remember a year or so ago, when I was completing the game really taught about installing mods, but did not really find a simple and clear video about which mods are keeping it original.
Thank you so much for this, Grand Theft Auto IV is my favourite GTA game, and God knows Rockstar doesen't show enough love to it's old games, like San Andreas, Vice City, most of the older GTA games are just straight up unplayable on PC now, if it wasn't for the community modders and youtubers like you promoting it.
Bro your voice always reminds me the voice of guy giving telephone missions in gta vice city (Your next job is taped under the phone, Get to to payphone in vice point :d)
Awesome video - followed these instructions and installed this all before opening the game for my very first playthrough (along with DXVK from your other guide, the legendary Higher Resolution Vehicle Pack, DayL's Natural Timecycle & the Global Warming reshade preset). Having a good experience so far - hardly any microstutters, game running smoothly - colours and graphics look great. Average of around 80 fps with max settings, very ocassionally dipping under 60 when driving in the rain, or particualry busy areas but without microstutters this is no issue at all and not even noticable if I turn my visual FPS count off. Good stuff!
The mod worked very well as did the explanation in the video! The only thing that continues to bother is the "midday" is still seen as blurry, as if it had the original graphics engine. But after the night, the sunset, the rain, they look very good
I’m literally halfway through my 2nd play through right now!! Subscribed to you like 2 days ago when I was trying to mod my game…. But I got confused trying to downgrade to v1.7 :(
God Tier Video. I'd add that you absolutely need to put the camera autocentering delay as high as possible in the CONTROL in-game menu if you want to be able to sprint with shift while looking around freely with your mouse. Also they fixed the dead zone issue with the mouse which is sooooo good. Performance is really good aside from some drops here and there when in a highspeed chase with tons of cops or something comparable. BONUS: RTX HDR works flawlessly with this in DXVK and the game looks a lot better on an OLED or any other capable HDR Screen. (LG 42 C2 for me) I'm now looking into modding in a Weapon Wheel GTA V Style to choose my needed weapon faster and it's pretty easy from here on out with Scripthook and the compatibility fix. Thank you so much for making this finally playable and enjoyable for me. I never finished the story, which I finally can do now. Much love and greetings from Germany, vielen Dank ❤🖤
Amazing guide that really helped when I installed a few months back! However, I really had to figure out how Console Visuals was set up since you only covered Vegetation, and adding all the other packs at the time caused the game to not load in most models and textures so I must had done something wrong. And very very recently a patch hit that caused these mods to mostly break... Hopefully a new version comes soon!
I wish I wasn't so poor, you are a godsend. Thank you so much, I'm a newb at this stuff and was pulling my hair out trying to get this to work - found your video, created a fresh install and followed along - perfecto - edit; wish i wasn't so poor so I could send you a thankyou. sorry
Personally, I'd keep games like older GTAs locked to 30 FPS, at least for the final mission on IV. GTA games get pretty weird with higher framerates and the best bet for compatibility as originally intended sadly limits you to 30 FPS
Yep first thing I do after installing the older GTAs is limiting to 30 fps. Gives you room to crank up the settings even higher too which is always good
@@curiousmind_ Indeed. For racing games, 60 every time. GTA though and similar games? Locked 30 is good enough and I'd rather have it at a constant framerate than a spotty one
Absolutely brilliant guide. It gets the PC port into the state it should have been in all along, thank you for this. One minor question I have is about the draw distance; it seems kinda low and the skyline can look kinda washed out just from Roman's taxi hub (especially Rotterdam Tower at night). Any ideas how to improve this?

Download "GTAIV.EFLC.Various.Fixes.v1.90_Fusion.Overloader.zip" from the link GitHub link on the mod page, then copy the "update" folder from the archive into your game folder, as I did in the video.
- Rockstar Games Launcher might sometimes close the game when launching because it fails to verify GTA IV as a legit copy, even on Steam.
This might seem like a crash, but it's not. Just try to start the game a few times and it'll eventually start (I've had this fail 5 times in a row once, but it's very rare it happens this much).

@MarkoVuckovic32 interesting, I personally think the pallet of the game is way too blue, and there is a mod to make it more natural, but this is personal preference, one thing that needs to be fixed is the cops killing you for just looking at them, that's ridiculous
@@Lucas_Fidalgo Yeah, you are right, I totally forgot about the ai issues that game has
Just want online vehicles in SinglePlayer
@@errorx_x1063 back in the good old ps3/xbox 360 era they added them to sp, in the next generations Rockstar turned out extremely greedy forcing us to buy it in game, sometimes we just want to test it :/
thanks man, this is my first time playing GTA IV. and these mods made me experience the game to the fullest
I cannot thank you enough for these videos!
Thank you for this, after playing GTA IV on console and buying it PC a good while ago i followed your tutorial and it runs like a dream on PC instead of the mess I was initially greeted with.
The definitive guide for GTA IV PC
Bro just save my game, I've been searching for one video to explain very clearly and you did it thank you pal
Man, the PCSS shadows are VERY nice
This is great man, really feels like a true port now
imagine PAYING for a game and having to fix it yourself

Many thanks for putting this video together, and thanks to all the modders as well who keep polishing and enhancing the game on PC! :3
I appreciate you, you helped me a lot. The game looks amazing and has become more playable. Greetings from Poland
thank you so much for a proper video about "Improving GTA 4 with mods" withount including cringy everything wet graphics or "GTA 5 UI WOOOOW"
Thank you for this video! Very well explained. Massive thanks to the modders who made this possible, too. I'm glad that there's such a dedicated community behind this game.
I feel like Rockstar spent 99% more effort on creating anti-piracy measures than properly porting the game to PC.

you just saved me 2nd time with the GTA IV, you're the best :D
This is great stuff! I only wish my GTA 4 would actually launch.
been waiting weeks for this after finding your gta san andreas modding videos ty king
Tip for anyone on a 120hz panel and just trying to run the game at 60fps. Don't set the refresh rate to 60hz, leave it at 120hz and use the in game FPS limiter that FusionFix provides. For me that has eliminated the vast majority of the stutter.
You are the best brother, all this year with suffer but you solved it all thank you so much subscribed!
@@ash735 I’ll try your tips when I get home, thanks!
Only thing I stille experience is the street lights/shadows sometimes flickering when drunk in the game and sometimes the water flickers.
brother all im saying is thank you
you made me love this game again and again
👉This video guided me perfectly as I JUST wanted to improve the overall "OG GTA IV experience, and nothing too advanced!👈
A lot of modding videos are misleading or too complicated for me to care. It's exhausting scrolling through the "300 SUPER Remaster COOL MODS in JUST 500 hours"
Or the: "It's Me Your Favorite Desperate Non-Original Wannabe Influencer Guy Talking In A Gaming Chair" type of videos.
So I Truly Appreciate Your time & effort! You are the man!❤🔥💓❤
Thanks for the video, very helpful! I just got the game on sale, and immediately installed these mods.
i dont know why but when i first loaded up the game moded it work flawlessly but when i saved and quited it adn came back it then just ran like garbage and i cant do anything about it
These files shouldn't even be called "mods" anymore, but unofficial patches and fixes for GTA IV.
Not only do they restore the original essence of the game, but they greatly improve the performance as well.
Gotta find the guys who made them and give them a good donation for all their work.
They put Rockstar to shame.
The link for the console visuals mod is broken. The link that it opens up just closes automatically immediately after clicking..?
try coping the link and pasting it in a different browser, like I did google to Microsoft edge
@@mylifebelike7573 Yes that worked, :)
Really nice video about mods, I remember a year or so ago, when I was completing the game really taught about installing mods, but did not really find a simple and clear video about which mods are keeping it original.
the radio restoration makes my game crash when i change radios
Thank you so much for this, Grand Theft Auto IV is my favourite GTA game, and God knows Rockstar doesen't show enough love to it's old games, like San Andreas, Vice City, most of the older GTA games are just straight up unplayable on PC now, if it wasn't for the community modders and youtubers like you promoting it.
Bro your voice always reminds me the voice of guy giving telephone missions in gta vice city (Your next job is taped under the phone, Get to to payphone in vice point :d)
😅
god bless the modding community for keeping this brilliant game alive
Gta IV infortunately doesn't launch after all the installation... Do you have an idea why ?
Awesome video - followed these instructions and installed this all before opening the game for my very first playthrough (along with DXVK from your other guide, the legendary Higher Resolution Vehicle Pack, DayL's Natural Timecycle & the Global Warming reshade preset). Having a good experience so far - hardly any microstutters, game running smoothly - colours and graphics look great. Average of around 80 fps with max settings, very ocassionally dipping under 60 when driving in the rain, or particualry busy areas but without microstutters this is no issue at all and not even noticable if I turn my visual FPS count off. Good stuff!
did u see the small white thing? 1:06
It's a plane.
thank you for releasing this just as i started playing GTA IV again
Considering how big rockstar is it's sad they treat their old games like shit
Thanks for great advices and modes, everything works perfectly for me! thanks for great GTA IV!
The radio restoration mod gives me a "crc of one or more RPF files is incorrect!" error.
you need to unzip the archive before instalation..

But I got confused trying to downgrade to v1.7 :(
dont bother with downgrading theres really not a good reason left unless you want to run some specific ENB
Thank you man for this video. It help me for fix so much problems. GTA 4 looks now very nice. Respect for it.
does anyone know why my game wont start after I did anything in the video? (steam)
(LG 42 C2 for me)
I'm now looking into modding in a Weapon Wheel GTA V Style to choose my needed weapon faster and it's pretty easy from here on out with Scripthook and the compatibility fix.
Thank you so much for making this finally playable and enjoyable for me. I never finished the story, which I finally can do now.
Much love and greetings from Germany, vielen Dank ❤🖤
Rockstar needs to take notes
you such a lifesaver i watch a few video about gta and all of it fixed
I don't know if any of these mods includes this, but you can also use DXVK to hugely improve performance
works perfectly on two different devices, thanks a bunch!
gta 4 pc's problems are not game performance problems its a feature implemented by the dev to simulate nikos past ptoblems to the players lol
Needed Vladivostok back the most
Thank you brother
Fantastic content! Thank you very much for this.
man thank you so much, I bought gta 4 on steam just for looking at this video last week
Does it fix the cutscenes infinitely zooming in until the scene is over??
Yes
Amazing guide that really helped when I installed a few months back! However, I really had to figure out how Console Visuals was set up since you only covered Vegetation, and adding all the other packs at the time caused the game to not load in most models and textures so I must had done something wrong. And very very recently a patch hit that caused these mods to mostly break... Hopefully a new version comes soon!
anybody has the console visuals link?? the link given is not working for me
Did you get an answer? Link not working?

Locked 30 is good enough and I'd rather have it at a constant framerate than a spotty one
jesus cant imagine playing any game at 30 and 60 these days@@MuscleCarLover
@@jl1fa Since when was 60 FPS bad?
Thanks for making it easy to follow! I installed everything. Time to try it out!
Absolutely brilliant guide. It gets the PC port into the state it should have been in all along, thank you for this.
One minor question I have is about the draw distance; it seems kinda low and the skyline can look kinda washed out just from Roman's taxi hub (especially Rotterdam Tower at night). Any ideas how to improve this?
of all the GTAs on PC, this one needed the remaster the most!
