You've convinced me, I need to go to Guatemala. Also honey wine aka mead is so delicious!!! The RIVERDANCING AHAHA TONY also agreed, its cheaper for me to fly to Guatemala twice vs flying to california once x.x
Totally worth it. We're going back for a long visit when we can. Especially around Lake Atitlan. Haha he said he's been saving that for when we go to Dublin but it felt right to break out the moves.
You guys are great! I'm so glad i voted for you! I just did a little binge-watching cuz I was a few trips behind. So fun! But I would love to know how much each trip costs at the end. Keep up the good work! ❤
You guys are so cute! Does Sara need more sleep though? I feel like these trips might be exhausting her sometimes! You guys are on my regular Sunday ”you tube” watch list, and I’m really glad you guys won the fare drop comp!
Guatemala is one of my favorite countries! I stayed at the Sunset place at Atitlan a couple years ago - great place but a little out of the way. Antigua is beautiful with the friendliest people. Climbing Acatenego while erupting is breathtaking.
Oh, that's good to hear. Admittedly, the cause of our delay was the weather more than anything. I think we would have made it to Guatemala only a few hours late if not for that
I like room tours too. Always looking for a good and safe place to stay. Hard to know based on the internet. It was slow enough for me, I just like that u did it!
Looks great! I really wanted that final breakfast. And it really stressed me out wjen you mentioned being suoer hungry on day 1, Sara, and then proceeded to only show any eating several activities later! Also, great shirt on day 1, Tony! Kind of a low-key version of those amazing natural dye colours they have there
For this trip or in the future? In Guatemala we only staying in the Airbnb and the hostel. The Airbnb is here: www.airbnb.com/slink/cLTfqmxv The hostel we stayed at was called Central Hostel. They don't have a website but you can google them. They were great, but all the hostels around Antiqua are beautiful and inexpensive so you can't go wrong there
Thanks for the video. I was thinking about checking out the hobbit place, but not quite as excited (looks kind of tacky with great views) after watching your video. We only have 2 days / 2 nights in Antigua...would you trade that day to further explore Antigua? We won't have time for a long volcano trek.
Yeah, we did it as part of the atv tour. I'd do that, but I wouldn't do hobbitonango otherwise.the atv tour as a whole was fun though. I'd say take a day and go to lximche, the Mayan ruins. It's pretty easy to get to from Antiqua, and if you're feeling adventurous, you can take a chicken bus there.
what a fun vid. how is everything so colorful?? Sooooo Guatemala isn't El Salvador, so you may want to include some content about making sure you are travelling in a safe side of town. I have wanted to see guatemala because guatemala has a very unique coffee bean, and every time you get guatemalan coffee in america you get a different flavor. I would also be looking for the nearest volcanos to get some epic pics. The scenery is great, but that air bnb is massive underrated
Airbnb was so underrated. Both Lake Atitlan and Antingua were pretty safe. We walked around a bunch in both places. Of course we always make sure not to venture out at night too much unless in heavily touristy areas and we dont go down back alleyways or anything anywhere we travel, but we had heard a lot of negative things about those areas. I'm not sure if Guatemala City is a different story though
@@faredropHi 🤗, thanks for visit Guatemala 🇬🇹, and welcome again when you decide come back and visit us. Love your video 😊. I am guatemalan and i can recomend you Guatemala City, Is just too much bad Fame, because in general the city Is safe, there's areas like all countries AND cities that are no safe, but in general Is safe. In Guatemala City there's an archeological site Kaminal Juyu, Historical Center with the Catedral and Palace, the central market with a Lot of handicrafts, typical guatemalan food 😋, the Railway Museum (you can traje a Little tour by the city in this Railway), zone 4 call 4 Grados Norte, in zone 16 Ciudad Cayalá (you must visit this), Aurora Zoo, zone 9, zone 10 this are Places that i recommend you. Even the malls if you want shopping Oakland Place, Miraflores and Fontabella Plaza.
Where are you staying? We booked our stays through booking.com but regardless I would just look at the reviews before booking. Lots of places to stay in Antiqua that are really nice. Probably wouldn't stay in Guatemala City. That's where I feel like most of the issues happen
Why did crowdstrike's computers all go down? They made a change to the code, without checking it, and it all just so happened to go down. It all went down right after Donald Trump's talk about the sassy nation. So the next day, everyone was talking about the computer outtage, and not Trumps story of sassy. This was not a coincidence.
We love watching you guys and y’all crack us up. We are supporters to the end of this rodeo!!! Keep it going. And let me get some of them guacamole slices 😂😂
Yup. You have to throw it away in the trash bin. We first experienced that in Southeast Asia, so we kind of had an expectation, but in Asia we also had bumguns 😅
Who else wants to see more of Tony's dance moves? ✋
Also, be sure to sign up for FareDrop here for trips like this: ➡ faredrop.app/yt_st-guatemala

Loved this! I had no idea Guatemala was so colorful and beautiful. You both are doing a great job and I look forward to the next vlog.
Thanks! Yeah it was amazing the old colorful buildings really had a lot of character
I found your guys Channel the Detour Duo!!! I’m going to watch all your videos! Love you guys!!! 🤗🤗🤗🤗👍👍👍👍
Awesome! Thank you! We should be back making content on that channel soon. Been far too long

I was trying to find them, thank you!
Their videos are excellent, check out them out. Can’t wait to see them on the travel channel or hgtv one day…or Disney!
This was one of my favorites. It made me want to go--especially the place by the lake!!! But also the gorgeous old architecture.
Yeah it was so beautiful!!
Yeah for the room tour! So glad you guys finally got to enjoy Guatemala.
So good! Wish we had our original timeline, but I'll take 3 days in Guatemala over none
You've convinced me, I need to go to Guatemala. Also honey wine aka mead is so delicious!!! The RIVERDANCING AHAHA TONY also agreed, its cheaper for me to fly to Guatemala twice vs flying to california once x.x

Another awesome video!!! Can’t wait for the next one! If only they could be longer 😁 Loved Tony playing tourist and Sara having a good laugh 😂
Haha he's a ham 🤣
So great to see Guatemala. I sponsor two youth through Compassion there and it’s on my bucket list to visit their families.
Oh, that would be so cool. We're trying to get our Spanish up so we can meet more people when we return
Loved the video now “gucamole slices” in from now on that’s how I’m going to ask for avocado 🥑 😊
😂
Always love your content. It would be really helpful if you could include links to some of the places you visit as well as stay. Safe travels!
Thanks. Really good point. We should update a lot of our descriptions with links.
Wow gorgeous place (and brilliant video too). Love from Shanghai!❤❤
Thanks!
Sara you look so gorgeous! 💁🏻♀️ So jealous of that beautiful hair!
Oh thank you! Sunlight was putting on a show. All the colors were popping
Absolutely love you two!
❤️ Thank you!!
Bien benido en mi bello Guatemala saludos desde meriland Baltimore 🇺🇲 EE UU
Thanks! Are you in Baltimore currently?
So glad you two took this trip! It’s a place that’s been on my list for a while now!
It's so good! I wish our flights didn't get pushed and we had more time. Would have loved to see a volcano
You guys are my favorite new travel videos to watch! You also have me completely sold on going to Guatemala after this video! 😂
Yes! Thank you. We're hoping to take a lot of what we learned here back to our channel to improve our travel films
Thanks for posting this video.
Hey, thanks for watching!
GUATEMALA IS BEAUTYFULL ♥️🇬🇹♥️ I LOVE GUATEMALA
Agreed!
You guys are great! I'm so glad i voted for you! I just did a little binge-watching cuz I was a few trips behind. So fun! But I would love to know how much each trip costs at the end. Keep up the good work! ❤
Thanks so much!! Good idea. That's something we started out wanting to do and just kind of got away from.
You guys are so cute! Does Sara need more sleep though? I feel like these trips might be exhausting her sometimes! You guys are on my regular Sunday ”you tube” watch list, and I’m really glad you guys won the fare drop comp!
Thanks. Schedule is a bit hectic in this one 😅
The foods look amazing. Beautiful cities❤❤❤❤
It really is!
Great video! I have always wanted to visit Guatemala and you do a great job showcasing the country, even if just for 3 days.
Thanks! We were scrambling a bit when the plans changed
I subscribe. Im from Guatemala living in California for many years.
Love your videos. God bless 🙏🏻
Thanks 🙏
Guatemala is one of my favorite countries! I stayed at the Sunset place at Atitlan a couple years ago - great place but a little out of the way. Antigua is beautiful with the friendliest people. Climbing Acatenego while erupting is breathtaking.
Still bummed we didn't get to see that. That must have been a sight
Omg this is absolutely on my bucket list I want to hike the to see the volcano 🌋!!
Same! Wish we had the opportunity to do so
the night clubs are amazing also the city
You must return and visit Tikal mayan ruins and climb volcanoes Acatenango both are a MUST
yeah, that's what we were going to do that first time. Next time we'll start with that since we didn't get to do it
Can’t believe they haven’t fix the road I went to pana 3 years ago and still same holy cow
Haha it gives it charm, but it's a rough drive
Keep it going!!!!!
That's the plan!
Crazy you guys were stuck due to that crowd strike my son was flying solo that day I was so nervous but thankfully no delays for him 😂
Oh, that's good to hear. Admittedly, the cause of our delay was the weather more than anything. I think we would have made it to Guatemala only a few hours late if not for that
Thank for visiting guatemala
Thanks for welcoming us!
Will you share a link to the lake you stayed? So happy I found your channel. Beautiful video.
Thank you, and sure! Here you go. www.airbnb.com/slink/cLTfqmxv
18:41 Raw and real decisions! haha Great idea to watch other vehicles drive through. Thank you for posting.
Thanks for watching. Yeah, I'd like to think we're calculated risk takers
the city is awesome too the night clubs
Oh I bet!
Guatemala is so underrated
agreed!
This was a lot of fun you guys but next time, can you slow down a bit on the room tour? 🎉❤❤❤
We don't usually do them but wanted to show this one for the view so its kind of a new thing for us. 😅
I like room tours too. Always looking for a good and safe place to stay. Hard to know based on the internet. It was slow enough for me, I just like that u did it!
Yay ❤!

We might have found a snack or two prior to our meal. That hike up the stairs was probably more rough for us being on empty 😅
@@faredrop relieved to hear it!
Awsome

@@faredrop Thank you for the advice. I'll be sure to check out your other videos. Good stuff.
Lmao I visit family every year in Guatemala. Let me tell you the amount of times I felt like I might just die because of things like that 19:00😂
I was like maps is setting us up. So thankful for other cars because we probably would have just backtracked the entire way otherwise

Sara, is that a mic on your shirt? If so, which one as so discreet!
It's called Hollyland Lark II. Tony has one on too but he has a necklace for his, so it just looks like jewelry. Love these mics
Nice video
Thank you
@faredrop you are welcome my friend 🙏🙏 greetings from India 🇮🇳

Hi i will be traveling in November do you recommend booking a room on air bnb i heard there be scams

can we have the link to casa sunset?
Sure! Here you go. www.airbnb.com/slink/cLTfqmxv
Hey Sara and Tony! Do you edit videos yourself or have you hired someone? I’m an editor and would love to discuss, if you’re interested
right now we can't budget an editor. one day soon though
@@faredrop I'll send you an email to stay in touch for the future.
White capris??? How do you do it girl??
It is a struggle! Don't look too closely. You’ll see all the stains 😅
Girl! You need at least a month to at least get a small taste of what my beautiful Guatemala 🇬🇹 has to offer.
Agreed. We plan on having a ton of time our next trip there

Don't sleep on the guacamole slices 🤣🤣🤣
What's your IG handles? 😁
@thedetour_duo @faredrop 😄
So what’s the bathroom situation, do you really have to put toilet paper in the trash can vs. flushing it? 🧻
Yup. You have to throw it away in the trash bin. We first experienced that in Southeast Asia, so we kind of had an expectation, but in Asia we also had bumguns 😅
