you guys should absolutely be the faces of faredrop PERMANENTLY!! love love love your videos! you’ve definitely gained a subscriber on your main channel :) can’t wait to see more content! much love xxx ❤
Kara and Nate, I'm not sure what the logistics are behind the scenes but you gotta keep these guys the face of Fare Drop if you can. They are pure gold. Please don't let a good thing end!
KARA AND NATE KEEP THESE TWO GOING ON THIS CHANNEL!!! Ugh no one else will be the same, you two are the cutest couple with the best laughter. Will keep watching Detour Duo but I REALLY hope they keep you on this channel!
I've lived in the Chicago area my whole life, and you guys are the first UA-camrs to visit Chicago and to have the same opinion of the Bean as me: It's a glorified fun house mirror, and also the perfect edifice to the self-obsessed age we live in. Immediate like and follow for immediately seeing that stupid thing for what it is, bravo.
Kara and Nate please extend their contract and keep the videos coming! This was so fun I loved all their videos they keep it fun, casual, and relatable.
Sara and Tony, Your warmth and genuineness brought me back over and over again to your Fare Drop channel, to see where you’ve gone, and how you got there. I hope the powers to be at FareDrop realize what a great representatives, and teachers, you were for them and their brand. I’m really sorry to see this chapter come to an end. You were perfect for this beginner budget traveler. I got to see what to expect in travel prices, and the possibilities once I get there. And there wasn’t a point anywhere! You helped me understand how this all works in a fun format. I’ll be over on your Detour Duo channel, and hopefully some day I’ll see you back here for a guest visit. And Tony, honey should go on every single slice of pizza.
What a warm message. Thank you. I'm positive there will be future opportunities. Also really glad you enjoy the format. We always wanted to make videos that reflect how we travel. Trust he has no problem going for every slice, lol
Oh wow, 6 months went by so fast! I’m so glad that K & N chose you for this opportunity (I voted for you). I will definitely keep following, and am sure glad that your travels will continue. Btw- you definitely picked the best deep dish place. Also, I’m afraid of heights too. But I did the Tilt when I was there. Good job 👏 going out of your comfort zone in 2 scary tall buildings!
It really did. Thanks for voting for us. We were so shocked when we won. Thought we were the longest shot. I couldn't bring myself to do the Tilt. I considered it for a moment
Really, really enjoyed your content while you had your “residency“ here on FareDrop! Can’t wait to follow along on your other channel and see all your adventures!
Enjoyed watching you guys ever since you won the FareDrop gig. I think Chicago might be my favorite video of yours. That town looks amazing and you did a great job of presenting it. I'll have to go check out your regular channel.
Chicago is a gem, especially during the warm months, but also during the holidays. Please come and visit but get out of my way when I’m hoofin’ it to the train station! 😂
I've loved watching your videos! You're the best part of Faredrop. I. hope you guys do more here, but I'll definitely be following your OG channel as well.
I have absolutely enjoyed your faces on FareDrop's channel. Will definitely detour your way soon... Chicago as your last vlog here was perfect--thanks for the great reccs!

I was following you guys quite sometime before on The Detour Duo. I was visiting Alaska and found Tony's video. I signed up for FareDrop because of your videos. I absolutely think you should remain the face of FareDrop. I will continue to follow you either way. Good luck and looking forward to seeing many more adventures.
Ah Alaska! I still need to take Sara there in the spring or summer. Being there in the winter I didn't get to see as much as I would like. Still loved it there, but I can imagine how beautiful it gets
@@faredrop .. we went in 2023, the beginning of September for our 29th anniversary. We landed in Anchorage then drove to Seward where have some family for half the trip. We got an airbnb and spent a few days in Anchorage. It was a beautiful time to go. You need to take Sara. We went to Mouse’s Tooth because of your recommendation.
I just love you two!!! My son and I have watched you on this channel and just subscribed to your UA-cam channel to continue watching!! See you over there!! Keep having fun!!
this was SUCH a great final video! I've never given chicago much thought but it's on my list now thanks to you two. you killed this 6 month project, can't wait to see more on your channel! ❤
NOOOOOO That was WAY to quick! Faredrop PLEASE make them a permanent part of the family!!! You guys were so fun to watch! I'm going over to your channel and subscribing right now! ❤
Love the addition to the OG vampires in the Fields museum 😆😆😆 Great exploration of Chicago, a city I haven’t visited in decades. Now I need to go. Thanks for the inspo!
Love that y'all did all the best parts of Chicago! And that y'all read my DM and saw the duck derby! I laughed at Tony saying "it's like they put a cake into a blender" at Portillo's because that's literally how the cake shake is made haha. Very sad that your 6 months on the FareDrop channel is already over!
Yes! That was so cool to check out. Thank you for recommending. HAHA that's too funny. No wonder that's why it tastes so good. Yeah, it went by really fast, but now we're back on our channel with a lot of valuable knowledge
fully chose the "stay in tourist town" after getting decent recommendations. I understand travel time and such but sheee come back and come to the neighborhoods!
Thanks for letting us know where to find you and hopefully Kara and Nate keep sending you sponsor opportunities while you invest in your channel. Loved the content.
Nooo can't believe the six months are over already! Will definitely be heading over to your channel (and revisiting Chicago at some point)! If I lived in North America, I might well have downloaded Fare Drop, but alas... 🤷🏼♀️
Right. It went by really quickly. We look forward to chatting on our channel. We really like using the ap, so I'm glad we could become an affiliate of it.
I loved all the videos you guys made for fare drop! Hope to see you guys back on here in the future! We did the sears tower, Portillos, river walk, cubs game and deep dish pizza ( although I prefer thin crust.) you guys did a great job!!!!
I always love watching people discover my "home town" of Chicago (I'm technically a suburbs kid, but my family comes from the city and I've spent a lot of time there over my life)! You did literally everything I would have suggested to a tourist! I can't even begin to tell you how many architectural tours I've gone on with my out of town family lol. Some more fun facts for you about your trip: YES- THAT IS A PIECE OF CHOCOLATE CAKE IN YOUR PORTILLO'S SHAKE. There's a reason it's called a cake shake! In addition, each Portillo's location is themed to a different decade of the 1900s, which is why the décor is so fun! If you ever go back to Chicago, you MUST go to Superdawg! They make their own hotdogs and it is not the typical Vienna Beef like most Chicago style are. Superdawg is the best in my opinion. The statue on the building (not a man, it's actually the goddess Ceres of agriculture) has no face because when it was built, it was the tallest building in the city and the architect figured that no one would ever be high enough or close enough to see the face. And then they built more skyscrapers right next door lol. And finally, if you want to sound like a local, you can continue to call it the Sears Tower!
lol, yeah that explains why it's called a cake shake. It's literally a cake. great facts btw. Had no idea Portillo's was themed, nor did we know that about the goddess. We had superdawg on our list but we made a choice between that or Portillo's. Next time it's Superdawg all the way
Oh, also, I live in Port Angeles. If you haven't made the trip out to Forks and Lapush, you should! There's not really anything to do in Lapush but relax. But I highly recommend it! We go camping out there as often as we can. And you have to stop and get a burger at 3 Rivers on your way out there. ❤
I went to Chicago in December for my 30th birthday. I felt like in December it was hard to find things to do without freezing. I would love to go back in a warmer month. ❤️
Yeah We were like this place is so great. We didn't experience what those winters were like though. Can imagine how rough it is with the winds coming from over Lake Michigan
Chicagoland girl here. Wish you would have had some tavern style pizza…so much better than deep dish, and gotten yourself some Garrett’s ChicagoMix popcorn!!
We probably should have gotten some popcorn, but we see it everywhere outside of Chicago, so we decided to save the space in our stomachs for something else lol
FUN FACT - Chicago Style Hot Dog began as a cheap meal for shift workers. The hot dogs were affordable and the condiments/toppings were free. So the depression era workers loaded the hot dogs with all the available toppings just to fill up.
Definitely the tri SARAH tops is the best. Duh. I can't believe it's already been six months!! I hope y'all have had an awesome time and we can see you in the future ❤
Thanks. We probably won't wait long to return. Well, we'll definitely wait until it's warm again, but we'll be in Chicago again in less than a year. I'm sure of it.
As a native Chicagoan, Giordano's is the best. Lou Malnati's sauce is too sweet for me and Pequods is just alright. Tavern style pizza is the ultimate Chicago pizza. Thank you for saying Sears Tower and not that other name... Johnny's Beef is the best. Really hope that you all get to come back to Fare Drop for good. I voted for you and was really glad that you won and have enjoyed watching. Will also subscribe to your personal channel.
I love when out-of-towners respect that it's the SEARS tower! Honestly, best hot dogs are at the ballpark! You would have been better off waiting to get one there.
Chicago born raised and lived. Downtown is great but next time you are here visit the neighborhoods. That is what Chicago is about and where we tend to stay.
Ok I definitely give you guys props for trying something other than deep dish pizza. BUT Chicago is also known for its THIN crust. My husband is from Chicago as well as my own family (south side). Next time get thin crust!!! Waaay better than deep dish in my opinion. I know you guys mentioned thin crust earlier though so good job trying lol. We love that y’all got some Italian beef though also!! You guys definitely did it up on this trip and loved the video!! 😊
Finally made it...damn hurricane's playing with our power and internet. Great video. The Windy City. If there's one thing I really really miss, is pizza 🤦🏻♀️😞😘😘✌🏻🌹 Also, come back down to SW Florida. Eill be watching you on your other platform. ✌🏻😘🌹
NooOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! 😭 You need to be the faces of FareDrop, I am so sad! I did start watching y'all over at your channel!! Sad to see y'all leave here!
You can tell you got advice from real Chicagoans. Lou Malnatis (and mention of Pequods) Portillos "Sears tower" not Willis tower even if you mixed in both. When you went to zazas, I honestly thought someone had insisted you try Tavern Style pizza (the not that hidden, mostly locals style)
Had to. Best advice comes from those who live there. We did want to try tavern style but we weren't sure where to go to get it. Then we started getting recommendations for Zazas
"its like they took cake and put it in a blender" .... They did! 😂 If you watch them make it they will take a slice of cake and throw it in the blender.
The english version of that ditty: Beans beans are good for your heart, the more you eat, the more you fart, the more you fart, the more you eat, the more you sit on the toilet seat...classy 😂😅
Hi you guys, I was born in Nashville, Tennessee, but I grew up in Chicago suburb, Evanston. Now, I live about 10 minutes from the Wisconsin border. If you don’t notice, I hate Chicago. I have family that lives there. Every time someone comes to visit they want to go there. I have no idea why. 😊 no I’m not that bad. I will take them to Chicago, because there’s something always going on there. The museum that you were in with the T-Rex. Every kid in Illinois has probably been there at least five times I know I have. Michigan, I grew up in Evanston so it’s all beach Lakeshore. We had beach parties, and rallies and arts and craft shows. Yeah, and it doesn’t look like a late. It looks like an ocean, but it’s not. I had a friend visit me in 1990s who is an architect. So I took her on that architectural boat ride. Also, Frank Lloyd Wright has a house several houses in the Chicago suburbs, and we went there also. Chicago has a lot of things to see. It’s just dangerous there. Oh, and by the way, I used to work down there for nine years. I worked at the federal building several blocks from tower. I found that taking the CTA train were a little dangerous. Because I live way out in Lake County, I can take the metro. And the metro has a bar car. Yum. Anyway, it was nice to see some things that I haven’t done in Chicago. I love pizza. I ate pizza all through college, and I am very picky about the pizza I eat. My first favorite, Gino East. I love their crust. They use cornmeal and flour, I’m not sure or no if other pizza places do that. My favorite Lou Mulonti (I can never spell it correctly. Any, can’t wait til you guys go somewhere interesting again. 😂 just kidding. Safe trip home. I just go to 31 flavors to get my ice cream. 😊 oh no, you guys can’t go. Wow! Well, I love Kara and Nat, and I am an old subscriber. You guys are great! I match your sense of humor. I will look for you. Good luck. And have a safe trip home.
Thanks. Can tell you've had quite the experience with Chicago 😅 Wish we had time to try more pizzas I think we walked past Gino's and thought about going there but didn't know if they did tavern or deep dish. Totally forgot about Frank Lloyd Wright building a bunch of crazy looking houses up there. We're probably going to slow down for a little bit and post some videos on our channel.
@@faredrop i am from chicago and refuse to use "willis tower", but i wondered why you used "sears tower" before you talked about the name change; i was very happy you did.
Wondering why you dis NYC so much in your vlogs? You may think NYC is overrated but there are many who don't. You either feel the magic or you don't. Its ok if you dont but to continue to compare everywhere you go to NYC seems strange.
Just trying to figure out where we ever dissed NYC. Saying a skyline is better is an opinion and is in no way saying NYC's skyline is bad. And we've compared something to New York twice in 12 videos! 😂. We like New York.

Appreciate the feedback! 🙌🏽
Done already…boo! Great videos. I’ll check out your other channel.
Thank you! ❤️
LOVE Freehand!

NooOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! 😭 You need to be the faces of FareDrop, I am so sad! I did start watching y'all over at your channel!! Sad to see y'all leave here!
Lot of good coming from experience. I'm sure there will be opportunities in the future.
the chicago dogs are super famous. I live in a texas city of 250k, and there are probably 5 different places to get chicago dogs.
Nice
“ You think they have the Cullens on here?” 😂😂😂
She was dead serious too! 😂
You can tell you got advice from real Chicagoans.
Lou Malnatis (and mention of Pequods)
Portillos
"Sears tower" not Willis tower even if you mixed in both.
24:13 TEAM SARA ON THIS DEBATE 😂❤❤❤❤❤❤
😂 Don't get me started.
I’d love to see you guys against the OG (K&N) on a Faredrop challenge ✈️
haha that sounds fun.
"its like they took cake and put it in a blender" .... They did! 😂 If you watch them make it they will take a slice of cake and throw it in the blender.
Well that makes perfect sense. 😂
The english version of that ditty:
Beans beans are good for your heart, the more you eat, the more you fart, the more you fart, the more you eat, the more you sit on the toilet seat...classy 😂😅
😂 I like it!
Your in my city Enjoy
Thanks
We're probably going to slow down for a little bit and post some videos on our channel.
wait, you said "Sears Tower"
Why?
⁉
Ask anyone from there, they'll tell you that's what it's called. 🤷🏿♂️
@@faredrop i am from chicago and refuse to use "willis tower", but i wondered why you used "sears tower" before you talked about the name change; i was very happy you did.
the chicago dogs are super famous. they just didn't go viral like the pizza wars.
Very true. We had portillos open up in the Tampa area. We weren't going to go to that one, but 3 different locals recommended portillos
Nooooooooo! Why are you leaving!?!?!
We'll still be making videos on our channel so we're not leaving UA-cam 😊
So, you are leaving this channel😢. Remind where should I go to continue watching you guys??
Sadly, yes. But our channel name is called The Detour Duo. You can just search for us in UA-cam, or there is a direct link in the description
😂. We like New York.
very surface-level visit to only the most touristy spots in downtown Chicago. ... very meh
Yes, well, we are tourists. Chicago is a big city and we're there for only a couple days. Thank you for the comment
@@faredrop try a little harder
I think we're good, but thank you for your input.
