    Fantastic, this is by far the best aircraft in MFS thanks to this mod

    One of the aircraft I fly in real life is a Citation XLS+ with the same avionics. I have been making UA-cam tutorials since September and this by far is THE BEST thing to happen to FS2020. I love how functional the FMS is and the fact that VNAV WORKS! Simply amazing!

      @@mxcollin95 I haven’t quit but did slow down. UA-cam revenue isn’t rewarding enough to go at the rate I was at. Videos have been stolen which forced me to make certain high-effort videos available to channel members only to help with both of those issues.

    I need to study more on VNAV as it's way harder than I thought. I wish the FMC would take my flightplan from Simbrief and just put in all the constraints, etc.

    Awesome work!! I flew a premier jet for a while which has the proline 21 and FMS3000 and your VNAV implementation for descent is like the real thing!! I saw the list of future enhancements. Will missed approach procedures ever be in the nav database? Also a real EGPWS (not just showing topography like it currently does) would be a welcome feature. Thanks again for the work!!

    • @K20017
      @K20017  3 роки тому

      Yes, missed approaches are in the nav database and will be implemented and it's on our list. GPWS is gonna be tough to do but the guys working on the Garmin have devised a way to display the current terrain relative height in the blotchy type format you'd see from a terrain database. So we've been looking into it.

      @@K20017 Awesome. Thanks again for the work. I feel guilty flying it for free. You have made it payware quality. What’s cool about the ability to turn any runway into having an LPV like approach is it’s actually somewhat realistic to the real avionics. I remember from flying the Premier that you can select “Visual Approach” in the FMC and it will give you a three degree glide slope down to any runway. I can imagine EGPWS would be difficult. TCAS would also be great. I’m being greedy but a realistic WX radar would be icing on the cake (although you mentioned possibly using some code from the work done on the G3000 to add EGPWS so couldn’t the same thing be done with the WX radar code already implemented in the G3000?) Anyway I have been waiting since FS9 for some addon company to release a close to “study level” single pilot rated private jet. If I had my pick of which jet I would want (both in MSFS and real life) it would be the CJ4 so I am just ecstatic about this project!!! I’m currently flying a CJ3+ and while the G3000 is very cool, there’s something about the Proline 21 that I’ve always found really attractive. I think it’s having the large compass arcs on both the PFD and MFD allowing for endless combinations of displaying hazard avoidance systems like TCAS, EGPWS and WX radar on each display (even when the PFD is not in PPOS mode). Anyway thanks again!!!

  • @davidh7280
    @davidh7280 3 роки тому +2

    This is superb! Beats the 32Nx, which still ignores constraints in managed altitude mode, which ruins the Airbus sim? The CJ4 is looking really good now and more like a true simulation.

  • @jg8104
    @jg8104 3 роки тому +1

    For the next update, would it be possible to implement the feature in the FMS to turn off the water display on the PPOS map? When I flew the Premier, I never turned on only water display since It’s really not that useful and more of distraction unless you’re also displaying geopolitical borders, and especially if I was displaying WX radar or EGPWS (which I’m keeping my fingers crossed that at some point can be added to this CJ4) the blue water color doesn’t combine well with radar returns or TAWS displayed. I actually usually never turned on any of these background map features of the PPOS map except for airspace when departing VFR from an uncontrolled airport and getting my IFR clearance in the air, then I would turn on the airspace display on the PPOS map which was very useful (to make sure I wasn’t flying into Class B, C, D airspace until I received my clearance). I’m not sure if adding the option to display airspace on the PPOS is a possibility, but I would think you could pull it from the G3000 code like you mentioned was a possibility for EGPWS display. I would love to hear your thoughts on what you think might be possible and what’s not! Thanks again for the great work already done!!!

    I have a question about the FMS. I've been watch you tube videos on using VNAV on the FMS. It shows the flight plan legs text in different colors to show what's active etc. Also the MFD shows the TOD where the VNAV starts decent. I usually do my flight plan through MSFS, however once I'm in the game the FMS text is just white and I can not select or change any inputs. What am I doing wrong? Is there anything out there as in a tutorial for using the FMS? Thanks!

    Nice video ! very good detail here...
    What if you dont get TOD what does that indicate ? Also did the GPS data provide the complex altitudes ?
    And I keep seeing PATH with a line thru it. More learning curves.
    Iterestingly the Citation X FMS in XPLANE doesnt seem to allow the entry of altitudes like this, and frequently I cant select the VNAV button.
    But the VNAV is really cool ! Its stuff I thought was very standard for any Auto Pilot navigation - In DCS I have to press A then select Return or Land, then control speed - maybe thats just not realistic.

    The start of descent is pretty aggressive... What about using VS manually to capture the donut then activating vnav descent? Much more comfortable for the passengers. Similar tactic is used when reaching cruise altitude in FLC.

    what is the difference with "above" or "below"?

    • @Mantorix
      @Mantorix 3 роки тому

      Above / Below altitudes are constraints. So basically you are telling the plane that it has to be at / below / above a certain altitude while transitioning through this fix. Typical scenarios are mountains or hills (for above) or crossing restricted airspace (below/above). Plain below is quite rare afaik.

      If ATC assigns you a different altitude, then you would enter that manually and use FLC or VS, not VNAV.

    Can VNAV be used for Ascending also? Or is it strictly for decent? Thanks for the hard work! Wish the rest of the planes had this much put into them!

    • @K20017
      @K20017  3 роки тому +1

      It can be used to a climb but it's only useful if you have a "AT OR BELOW" fix. Because the CJ4 climbs so fast, any sort of "AT OR ABOVE" fix is of no concern. However, a VNAV climb doesn't follow a path, it's really just a tool that helps you level off at fixes.

      Not sure what I'm doing wrong. I created (in LittleNavMap) a flight plan that I loaded into MSFS and took off, levelled out at 6000ft. I changed several legs to increase my altitude using /7000A, then a leg to /6000A. It didn't climb to the 7000ft. I did it manually and it didn't descend to the 6000ft. Thought I understood it, but clearly not! I didn't see any of the indicators like the snowflake.

    • @K20017
      @K20017  3 роки тому

      @@martynbrinton There's no actual path in a climb and VNAV isn't really used that way in a climb, it's only used to level off. If you want to climb, you would just set a higher altitude in the preselector and press FLC.
