I am looking at a pattern, Trinigan, that purls back on the back/main color purl side, but your explanation and demonstration make perfect sense-thank you so much!
Jeezz- I have been trying to figure out how to do this for a couple o weeks, but finally found this explanation. - I am hopeless at following a pattern other than charted but this is exactly what I needed to get started on my Nightshift- thank you sooo much. 😅 ( at least I hope so) starting my sample swatch now! Yippee 🎉
Thanks so much for your comment, I'm so glad I could help :). Starting off on the Nightshift can be a bit confusing because your doing mosaic knitting and the icord edge with very few stitches until you get the pattern established.

Love your video. Is there a way to take any chart and turn it into a slip mosaic knit pattern?
Thanks❤
