23:08 He's a stoic type with years of training for stressful situations. He's on the job and can't let emotions get upper hand, especially now. A lot of the times people, who try to hide their emotions, try to find something to say or do. And as they frantically try to find solace in that work, their brain often makes them repeat words, while they don't even know they're doing it. Long pauses are also a way to tell, if someone is trying to process some emotion inside them. Due to their brain being occupied by some sort of realisation, they often don't understand that they even do these pauses, for them their speech on retrospection seems fluid and natural, as they intended it to be. It's a subtle thing. I guess not everyone enjoys that. Some people don't catch these, or don't know enough, or don't have enough experience in that regard. To each their own, i guess.
@Dominik Magnus After reading your comment I think I will have to re-evaluate my stance thank you. 👍 💗 I wholeheartedly agree with you when you said sometimes people take long pauses when trying to process some emotion inside them, that's me I do that sometimes.
@@SoloReacTalk one of the ways to understand others is to understand oneself. Slightly off topic, my dad is quite stoic. I've never seen him cry or even sulk. But I've seen him make these weird long pauses, repeating same message with different words, when his mother, my grandma, died. I never asked him, but I feel like he was quite disturbed, even though she was old and sick, so everyone was expecting her to pass away soon-ish. Perhaps it was his own mortality that struck him, I don't know. And I don't think asking is a good way to go about it. So, yeah. Good luck to you, and utmost care in observing your loved ones on signs of bad emotions overcoming them. However stoic people can be, they still need support. (I'm not a professional at mental health, so don't take my ramblings as a course for action and seek secrtified specialist if you, or someone you know needs help with trauma)
i loved the direction the voice actor was given. He is the CO, he must remain calm and in control and give information as cleanly as possible. The raw emotion you feel in his voice is truly something else and i love it.
He is a in the army the high position of power the dude cant just break down on the coms its about the subtle change in the voice as he delivers the lines.
3:05 on stellaris being 3d. There is some 3d & elevation changes within stellaris and you are correct in that everything is on the same flat plane but if you look at our and other galaxies, they tend to form into relatively flat spirals. yes there is more distance between them and the is still that vertical variation, but things do tend to conform into a relatively uniform plane over time. Weird space fact 😀
The music in chapter 1 & 3, when you return to Kharak is called Agnus Dei (Addagio for strings is the orchestral version) - i love this piece and i listen to it every once in a while. Every time i do i find myself saying that Kharak is burning and that noone survived the interrogation

25:31 That was a nice catch by Mando. I never noticed that they included the Kodiak from C&C Tiberian Sun.
