It's the New Donk City band IRL
@AGENT INFERNO I love the thought of that
Maybe they're now auditioning for a Pauline look-alike for lead singer.
xd
Now I wish the New Donk City band played other songs as well. Not just the same classic Mario theme, but like every time you walked into the City Hall, they'd play a different song, all randomised, ya know?
Damn is the game already this old that its been two years since your comment
The bassist is not getting enough love. He is holding the entire thing together and giving it that sweet grove.
The fact that he's playing 1-2 from SMB1 @3:38. Lol
Yoo I never notice that, wow it went so smooth to the chords@@BlizZ9
Imagine being that groovy, and offscreen. ( /s )
This could be the Ending Credits theme to a Super Mario movie.
We don't talk about super Mario movies anymore
@@thewarriorrlsh Illumination are making one 🙄🙄🙄 Goombas acting like Bowser's version of minions
But you know it won't be
NatyÑëïæ / FancyYouABeating? Please no not another one
Welll.... Ye but the first Mario movie SUCKS at least there making a new animated
I love how the bass player uses the Underground theme from the original Super Mario Bros. series as the bass line.
but there's no bass player. xD
omah nem a jeff? JEFF he's underground duh
Ralu
lol
Ralu
i get it xD
Mark Juarez not to mention the guitar player doing the main theme towards the end
3:27 nice Super Mario bros. underground bassline nod
Where is the bassist?
Watch the pianist, he's doing the bass off the synthesizer
I love how the guitar is doing the main theme
listen carefully to the guitar lick around that time as well
Aldo Jofré González underground
2:24 The thing that guy on the left did with his mouth is absolutetly perfect and nobody can change my mind
oh yeah what a crazy coincidence!
@@arodokiseems like he did it on purpose cause he already knew what he was going to play
@@alexjustalexyt1144 yeah that's jazz 😎
Of all the versions of this song, and believe me, there are _many_
this in my opinion, is the definitive version.
Same
If Mario had a sitcom, this would be the intro, and I’d watch it just to hear this.
This is not the intro to the Super Mario Super Show
Sax solo just blew the others out of the water 😂😂
Man, sometimes I just love videogame culture
@Logan Yes culture. If you don't understand, look at the definition.
@Logan Also "the ideas, customs, and social behaviour of a particular people or society."
Video game culture does exist. It built itself to something amazing, sometimes weird. Just like every other CULTURE. By definition, it is correct.
this one literally makes me cry tears of joy
Ben Briggs same
holy shit didn't expect to see you here Briggs. I love your remixes!
Ben!
If this gives you the N64 feels, then go watch Tom Brier play Cool Cool Mountain. 😢
Xd
I love how the guy on the saxophone ques his mates at 3:03 that his solo is about to end! They’re all so coordinated. !
Something this nerdy has no business being this good
And yet it is!
You can't just slide 01:01 in that's illegal, damn this is good...
What am I missing?
Atanih23 the sax adds a little rift into the melody
Eyy didn't expect to see you here! Awesome isn't it?
AHhhhh I see what you mean, Ian. That *is* good.
Actually I think what he means is that they changed the bassline to the super mario underground theme. Now that is smooth!
That sax though.... 😗
Dat bass boi too
It’s saxy
That YEE end, lol
Ayy im a fan of your channel man. Keep it up skrillex :)
This is easily my favorite arrangement of the Bomb-omb battlefield theme from Super Mario 64. The style of the music from the game really fits the treatment it gets from this band's style of jazz/soul music.
@HunterwithaMedkit asshole
HunterwithaMedkit yea
HunterwithaMedkit dude you just called someone a ponyfag lmao how bout mind your own business
HunterwithaMedkit 😂😂
You’re human garbage, Hunter.
A song from my childhood which has always felt tailor-made for jazz bands, performed live by a jazz band and featuring the smoothest solos I've ever heard. And to top it off, the album it's on is a punny Miles Davis reference. You gentlemen have earned an instant fan with this number. Keep up the amazing work!
Thanks so much Smithy!
WE NEED THIS IN SPOTIFY NOW!
IS NO ONE GOING TO POINT OUT THE "YEE" AT THE END?!
keiseyku you just did
They started to play the meme when the dinosaur sings the yee.
They have done it at least once per set, everytime I've seen them. They're great!
thanks god i almost thougt I had an allucination
Thank god I wasn’t the only one
I'm calling now. Nintendo secretly hired these guys for Super Mario 64 HD
We wish.
Wish may have been granted due to the new upcoming rumors on the 64, sunshine, and galaxy remakes
@@yolomationanimation9784 8-Bit Big Band would be a better choice now that I think about it but I'll take what I can get
HE KNEW
@@billyrunner8003 the mad lad
This went from Bob-Omb Battlefield to interpretive jazz back to Bob-Omb Battlefield with the Mario Bros underground bassline. Honestly, quite an incredible rendition of the song that I love a lot! :D
good jobs
from japan
4:24 I can't with that piano. I love it
This song actually makes me emotional. Best time of my childhood was spent playing this game
The heart and soul of Mario: The music.
I'm sitting alone in my living room and I actually applauded out loud after those brass solos. This was so wonderful. Thank you!
I always have the stupidest smile on my face when each team member gets a little solo. also that Big Band style made my day
...I'd drop by a concert like this in a heartbeat!
This is absolutely AMAZING, Never lose this fantasstic style... this right here is WHY I subscribed to you guys... LOVE IT!!!!
I have an advantage over the people that saw it live, and that’s the fact that I can listen to it as many times as I want! Good thing too, cuz this song is WELL worth repeating!!
OMG. QUALITY!
Next step: synchronized moves for the horn section! You know it would work.
That is something we have definitely been experimenting with in recent months!
Super Soul Bros.
I want you to know how I found out about you: I was watching the Big House 6 smash tournament, and I was expecting the usual uninspired electro-remixes of VGM for pause music. Instead I got these vibrant fusion renditions, obviously performed by a live band of great competence (and with a remarkable guitar player, please give him/her my regards!). I imediately searched your channel out and subbed.
Mrs. Featherbottom Glad you liked it enough to check us out! Some of us are really into competitive smash so having our music played on these VGBC streams is quite the honor.
Super Soul Bros.
IMO it's an honor for smash to have such serious musicians tied to our scene
Super Soul Bros. can you guys make gluttony fang in jazz style it would be cool
This is one of the very best pieces of content that I have ever seen. I have seen so many countless hours of videos and listened to so many countless hours of music. I'm not even really a gamer. I'm serious. The impact that this video had on me in immeasurable. My day, and perhaps even my week, have been improved thanks to the quality of this video and the excellence of the performers, as well as the writers of the original piece. I cannot tell you how happy watching this video made me.
This sounds like it could be a TV show! That's how seasons this sounds!!
This song was clearly a part of my childhood. Spent hours playing Super Mario 64!
I love that the bass in the chorus plays the Underground theme
i need the full ''yee'' song
how dare you be this good and have this much fun?!
Koji Kondo would be proud. Well done guys! I'm crying rn ..
Really a great song to hear when my day is off to such a bad start. Thanks!
I wanted to hear that trumpet hit a higher octave around the descending hook but regardless an amazing performance
Where the hell is the bass player?! The camera just entirely ignores the guy driving this song. Really wanted to see the bassist grooving in his chair to this. Bass player makes this song imo
What if I told you the keyboardist was the bassist?
I discovered that about an hour after posting the comment lol
Yeah the editing at the start of the vid is misleading as he is playing obvious non-bass stuff
Jimmy Turcotte-Déry yeah definitely. I guess after that theres is no more electric keyboard to be heard so he just goes entirely bass
He's underground, obviously. He's calling for help at 3:27 cause no one could hear him over the bootiful music
Seriously, this is so hot.
Hot? Seriously.
i saw these guys before they got popular in my hometown
There are no words that I can describe how amazing this is.
Where has this been all my life? This is the most amazing piece of music I’ve ever heard. Well done!
That saxophone is super smooth
The trombone guy was having a blast when he wasn’t playing
You guys are literal gods. I always come back to this video when I'm listening to video game music.
Never play mario64 on my childhood (just smb 1,2 and 3) inly during my adult day and somehow this soundtrack by mr Kondo is as nostalgic as any other
super amazing!! you guys were the best part of smashcon
UA-cam recommended is getting better and better
I really really appreciate the new orleans style section at 4:24, Great touch
Instant good mood
I have never subscribed to a channel so quickly, the sound hits you so fast, and it immediately feels right.
The freaking free jazz at the end
You guys nailed it
@2:02 "wowowowow"
Also, I keep thinking Manzana is Dante Basco playing trombone.
This arrangement has so much character to it! Not to mention the amazing style of the players! Keep giving me the feels soul brothers!
Amazing synergy in the band!
This just makes me smile. Thank you!
This is so good thank you for blessing my ears!!!
I see some people having WAY TOO MUCH FUN on stage! Keep that up!
blessings to whoever did the sound at this show. good lord
WFD- World's Fastest Drummer now has an official WFD favorite band!
Nicely done. Love that venue.
I can't believe how good this is!
This is some funky stuff. Literally all of it......One of my favorite songs.
This just gives me life, thank you so much
Beautiful! Amazing!
Perfect drum break at 4:04
Just discovered you guys today, already a huge fan keep up the good work!
This version is just mind blowing!! Brought so many childhood memories ✨
C++Art+ technology+ music+engineering +characters design + architecture = video game masterpiece
Just amazing!
i feel so glad to have find this
So good guys ! Amazing !!
this
is
perfection
That beat in the end... thank you guys
Truly amazing!
This makes me wanna dance and I don't even know how
XiaoFury You can dance if you want to. You can leave your friends behind.
#MenWithoutHats
This is Bomb-astic.
If Nintendo opened a jazz place like this I would literally move to Japan and go there every night
Amazing work!
I hate how i can't turn on notifications. Super soul brothers has to be my favorite band yet.
I saw these guys at Pax South.. and it was only 3 members at the time.... and it was JUST as impressive! this band is amazing
Oooh yes, this is the way to unwind in the evening!
Insane, just insane. This is why i love music.
This is so good, nostalgia with a twist
When you and the boys be doing a raid and someone hits the tunes
Koji Kondo will be proud of this!
Man, that's freaking awesome!!! It's amazing and really nice. Really enjoyed it^^
This is so cool!
That sax solo. My god.
I hope freaking Nintendo don't sue these guys for copyright infringement.
It's not often that I sub to a channel after only seeing 2 vids on it..
This is F*cking Brilliant! Best version of this song I have ever heard!
The solos were all great, especially the sax!
The way it goes to CHURCH at 5:03 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
This is actually amazing.
