Nintendo: We want money, Super Mario 64 blew our budgets through the roof, so let's make a remake for the game on the switch! fanbase: REMAKE MARIO 64 ON THE SWITCH!!!! Nintendo: *nah...*
Extremely mature and tasteful decision making with this score! Sensitive to varying stylistic interpretations and tonal color, and delightfully transitionally smooth. I LOVE it!
I don't know who you are, what program you use, how you compose, or how you make your content, but this is some of the most beautiful renditions of familiar pieces that I can recognize you not by your channel, but by your style.
That transition into Dire, Dire Docks though. And as I sit here conducting, the ¾ time, to 4/4, to cut time. It's all so beautifully smooth, like it was meant to be like that. Very well done!
Beautiful! This brought an immense wave of nostalgia from when I was a kid. Nintendo really needs to hire you on to compose music for their new Mario Bros movie!
Just commenting before this becomes MEGA POPULAR!! I know it will! But seriously, outstanding work! I love your compositions so much. After your Deltarune one I checked out your other work from what I know and became an instant fan. I get goosebumps every time! I was so excited to see this pop on my feed! From the first game I’ve ever played (SM64) to the last game I’ve completed (Deltarune). It’s just so nostalgic and fantastic! I’m the biggest fan of your transitions they’re so COOL!! So much to say but I really shouldn’t cram it in a UA-cam comment. In all, I love your work VGOScore! Keep doing your thing! THANK YOU!!
RDVMusic Before making an orchestration criticism I would recommend learning orchestration of the current century. Have you not heard how well the horn sounds in that position in the beauty and the beast? Or any Disney orchestration?? about the flute and the oboe does not make sense to answer it since you can look for many examples. The comfort of the player is irrelevant in orchestration unless you are looking for a specific timbre..... well I recommend studying orchestration is very fun!!😉
Oh, and by the way I don't think there's a point discussing with someone over proper orchestration referencing Disney movie scores as examples for their view point. This is ridiculous. @@VGOScore
@@musik350 In VGOScore's defense, I don't see any issue in referencing Disney Movie Scores especially when concerning Video Game Music, much of the musical language is similar to it follows that orchestration practices could have similarity. This clearly isn't the music of Mahler, Brahms or Shostakovich or any other great symphonists for that matter so I don't really see why you're being so picky. If you think you can re-orchestrate it better, do so, upload it on UA-cam and make a direct comparison and see which people prefer instead of being confrontational and vague about it.
I’m actually planning to transcribe and arrange this for my school band! It won’t be the whole thing cuz it’s too long so I’m picking and choosing pieces. I will also add a little spin of my own to the music too! It may not be ready till either the end of this semester or it may not be played until the beginning of the next school year. Either way when it’s finished and we can play it, it will be fun! Thx for the inspiration!
I really love your arrangement of Dire Dire Docks. Probably one of the most beautiful pieces I have ever heard! Thanks for some incredible music from some of our most memorable games! I love your music, and can't wait for more.
So gorgeous. I must say, I was on the edge of my seat the whole time, watching the melody get passed around on the score, seeing the intricate harp part, and just watching how neat the bassoon sounded! It was pretty great! Keep it up!
This was amazing. Great job with all of the songs! I personally think Piranha Plant Lullaby would have sounded more recognizable with the glockenspiel as the main instrument though
Yeah. I don't really have a good ear for music, but to me the Piranha Plant Lullaby sounded too low-pitched during the piano solo. Then when the glockenspiel came in, it sounded way higher than it should. Overall though, I loved these compositions!
You won't believe how long I've been waiting for an orchestral arrangement of Bob-omb Battlefield. Just amazing work! I was wondering if you've ever tried applying the good old classical model of the suite to video game music? Like doing this Super Mario 64 Suite but instead of being a 10 minute work splitting it into 6 different self contained pieces in a suite format? Like the Carmen Suites or the Nutcracker Suite.
@@christianhunt4224 The Bob-omb Battlefield theme, Slider, and Cool, Cool Mountain are actually all variations of the same theme, simply called the Super Mario 64 Theme. The instrumentation, rhythms, and tempos are all different, but the melody is the same, just re-arranged differently.
WOW!! Idk how long it took you to make this but well done! I might try make a similar version for my school band! I've already got them going on "Flower Garden" from Yoshi's Island! I might have the brass section do "Bob-omb Battlefield" with me for final concert of that's ok with my teacher. This will be fun!
Holy fucking Shit! This is so gorgeous and makes me incredibly nostalgic and makes me proud to have had this as a part of my childhood (I was born in 2002 so the 90's barely escaped my grasp, I reeled it in though😂). I feel great after this and you enhanced the music that was already near perfect. I think you added the perfection. Thank you so much, also sorry for the harsh language at the beginning, it shot out of me because of how exquisite this was. Marvelous. Thank you
Diooooss! Te empecé a seguir hace tiempo porque me flipan tus composiciones y ahora me he dado cuenta que eres de Barcelona! :D Un saludo, yo también soy de aquí :)
If there's one thing about Super Mario 64 that frustrates me, it's that so much effect was lost in the Peach's Castle theme, simply because Kondo didn't write an A flat in the melody at 1:54 instead of an A natural. It would have just been so much more emotive.
You're gonna be thrilled to know (though you may or may not be aware of this now), that an orchestra seems to have used your arrangement, or rather, part of it. Congrats! (RDVMusic probably isn't too thrilled, though.)
Are you referring to OJV, Le Orchestre de Jeux Video in Toronto? I do note extensive similarity in parts, though it's not identical. It may have been a compositional collaboration.
This was absolutely awesome! I have to play SM64 right now! Your work is outstanding! Keeo it up! PS: Can you make a Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Medley? I know you already covered themes from BotW and the Anniversary Medleys, but not anything specific from OoT.
Amazing arrangement. Really brings back memories. P.S. I dunno if you make arrangements via comments, but it would be cool to see an arrangement of "American Venom" from RDR2 or the Game Awards Orchestra's GoTY 2018 mashup.
@VGOScore you have got to submit these Symphony Orchestra arrangements to some publishers like Bravo Music, Alfred, or Hal Leonard or something man!!! They're all so great.
How did they manage to do all these incredible renditions and then completely miss the underworld/hazy maze cage theme? Props on the rest though. That was amazing.

right???? i get goosebumps
This makes me really want a SM64 remaster for Switch.
Brooks Alderman they should. I’d buy it for sure.
Nintendo will think it shouldn’ exist like Skyward Sword HD!
They won't because it's already perfect
If they do it, hopefully it is just a *remastered* of the *original* SM64, not the DS Remake
@@Max_G4 True it is perfect but if they did make one it should be with an orchestrated score like this and graphics like Mario Odyssey.
