That last statement is fucking legendary. He's really right. There is something almost mystical about dudes in big bands who fight and just can't stand each other anymore, no matter the sheer amount of aircraft carriers filled to the brim with cash you throw at them. Sure, some of them don't need it, but it must be weird hating some folks because of fights you've had thirty years ago.
There are layers to that conversation for sure. On one hand, yes, they should be able to compose themselves and learn to let go of bad blood as adults. They should be able to at the least bit find a way to build common ground. If not for themselves gaining financially, they ought to do it to give a new generation of fans a chance to see them live.
On the other hand, if any one doesn't want to do it, that's their choice, they don't owe us anything. Sometimes it's better to leave it be then force a performance, as if they despise eachother its going to impact their performance together.
Bands start out like families,
and then when money gets involved
people get weird and greedy.
You got record executives in the singer's ear saying "you wrote the song, you should be getting a bigger slice of the pie."
That's why The Beatles were so successful, they all agreed from the beginning to split EVERYTHING equally.
"Solo Careers" are a different story.
Just look at Abba, it has been a ungodly amount of years and still people are waiting for perhaps a return. If they were to do one single tour and sell tickets for 500$ a piece, it will still get sold out everywhere and they can swim in their money and support their families for the upcoming 5 generations but no. They flat out refuse to ever play again, they will never approach a stage again even with the upcoming 50th year of Eurosong in their home country of Sweden lmao

An older brother of mine introduced me to Danzig's music. He couldn't believe how short and "swole" he was. He was impressed by his presence. I did some research, discovered The Misfits and became a loyal fan. I miss the 80s!

@Sergio Balaguera nermind the bollocks heres the sex pistols was there only legitimate album which was brilliant and as the band called him Malcy Walcy (Malcom Mclaren, their manager) just tried make more money for himself (thousands) without giving any of it to the pistols. So his master plan was to sell more records with just the same songs on them that were on nevermind the bollocks. Anyway I've never listened to the misfits or the stooges properly, maybe I should, who knows.

I'm sure he was exaggerating a bit he's been doing this for like 30 years I'm sure he's learned to play at least decently. There are allot of great songwriters and performers who can't shred on guitar, or are the best drummers or vocalist, I don't judge a band based on that I mean look at Nirvana, Kurt was guitar expert but he came up with some super catchy good riffs and songs.
Apparently, charging $300 a head for pit tickets made Glenn change his mind about a reunion. Money's weird like that.

That’s not true. I saw them in San Fran last September and the tickets were 130ish for ground tickets. And that’s with the line up that consisted of cro-mags, the damned, rancid, AND Misfits. Shit was well worth it amigo, they all still sounded great

Huesos 138 legend goes, Glenn was taunting crowd ,making homosexual references (Well because it's S.F.)And the crowd got increasingly angry, prompting the guitar smash ,over head -then literally the crowd, and the club security chased em backstage -I wanna say winterland ballroom,but could be mistaken- they were banned until Danzig came back by himself -And blamed the whole incident on his old band mates-when they were gonna cancel his show (realizing who,he actually was)

Danzig Misfits were notorious and were known to have violence at their shows. Although it was Punk there were a few bands that either them selves or the bands following was known to become violent...Suicidal Tendencies, Misfits, Exploited...any GG Allen show.

I was born in 1980. I knew of The Misfits growing up but didn't know anyone that listened to them. I found Danzig by accident in early 90's and became an instant fan and still am. I decided to listen to Danzig era Misfits a few days ago and it was like finding hidden gold. I've been playing Last Caress in front of my family every day since

The last comment by Doyle makes me think of the Ramones. There was a band with legendary levels of dysfunction, mental illness and strife between members, and somehow those lunatics managed to plow through 20+ years doing some ridiculous number of tour dates and while riding in a Van that had no business being used as a tour bus far longer than they should have been lol The Misfits Reunion was worth the wait. Look the videos up the band sounds amazing and they appear to be having fun and I am happy for them.

One of my favorite Misfits moments comes from their music video for Scream. George Romero himself directed it, and it features the Graves era Misfits as zombies.
ZOMBIE DOYLE is absolutely horrifying, and goes marching after a nurse. He made for the scariest, most intimidating zombie since the Tarman from Return of the Living Dead.

Sucks i never did get to see these guys as a kid, missed my chance by just a year or two. I did get to see GWAR but my favorite show i got to attend was Pennywise. A small nightspot with a 3 foot stage everyone was jumping off of, no bouncers, people knocked down in the pit were helped up not stepped on or kicked and of course the last song they played was the epic BroHymn.
Love those short stages.
I saw Hank 3 in the upstairs venue at Magic Stick in Detroit in 2015 and that is less than a one foot stage.
Such a small space and nobody got too violent. We were almost eye to eye with the musicians as they busted their set. Anybody who knows Hank 3 knows his encore when the hat comes off and he destroys a different guitar with amps and knobs turned all the way clockwise

I think that "Glenn and his books" was officially a "Danzig" or "Samhain" interview... side note: no Graves? He was awesome! I like the Danzig era better but Graves was awesome too and marked an awesome, although very different, point in time for the Misfits. Oh well... I feel the flames rising.

Sucks that there isn't much to work from because not much of their early stuff was recorded on video. Though you probably could've mentioned Night of the Living Dead from Halloween 1983 - the last song played by the original Misfits.

I was into the punk 70's scene in NJ but never really clicked with the sound of these guys, but still cool how far they got, kinda legendary. Plus they look like they could kill you. Out here in Cali nowadays there's a ton of super babes that love that logo on their t-shirts

2015 ,Doyle and Dr.Chud played the L.I.F.E. Downs ballroom in Laredo TX....badass show ....packed for a small city on the Tex Mex border.

The music is 40 years old and anyone who is in to it tends to be devoted to it, and that's been the case all these years, though as I said, it's not for everyone. Good rock music has nothing to do with trends. Listen to classic rock radio to see that: they been playing the same Beatles/Led Zeppelin/Rolling Stones/Eric Clapton etc shit since before we were born.
