    Thanks for this! It's the best recipe for p.b. cups I've found. I tweaked it a bit & added a little brandy to the p.b., & used semi-sweet chocolate chips. Also very tasty to add some rice crispies type cereal to the p.b. . Thanks again -was a very easy & quick addition to the Christmas goodies!

    Matt, Thanks for the great recipe and method. I've been making these the hard way. Your method of rolling the peanut butter into a ball and spooning the chocolate on top and on sides is MUCH easier. I did make some with Kahlua and Almond butter. Awesome.

I made them a bit more fancy by adding crushed almonds on the tops of a few of them and white chocolate zigzags on a few others. If you get the chance, can you please give this recipe a comment and rating on my new website? I would really appreciate it. :) inthekitchenwithmatt.com/better-than-reeses-peanut-butter-cups

    They look excellent! I'm not sure of the combination of peanut butter and chocolate (tho I do like peanut butter); but you showed how very easy they are to make. Maybe one could improvise with perhaps a cherry in the center, or a small marshmallow... Of course, the cherry would have to be soaked in brandy, French Brandy naturally, but I would imagine that one's imagination could run away with them on ideas for the center of these cups.
    In France they make a rather delicious chocolate with Brandy inside them. They color the chocolate in different shades too, and give the chocolate a spiky rough edge to it. They are amazing! I so wish I knew how this is achieved, and how they put the brandy inside. Any clue on how that is done, Matt?

    • @inthekitchenwithmatt
      @inthekitchenwithmatt  6 років тому

      Chocolate and peanut butter is one of the best combinations ever. I don't drink alcohol, so have never tried the French Brandy chocolates, although I have heard of them. I imagine they inject it with a syringe or something. Not really sure.

    Hi, this looks great but i have a question. Peanut butter in regular Reese’s is very salty (thats why i love it). But you don’t put any salt. Instead of you add sweet. Is it really tastes like Reese’s or something similar with chocolate and peanut?

    • @inthekitchenwithmatt
      @inthekitchenwithmatt  5 років тому

      Great question, I don't like the salt in the Reese's that is why for me these are "Better Than Reese's". But you can always add 1/2 tsp. of salt in with the peanut butter if you like. The best thing to do is to make them and try them yourself. And see what you think. :) Maybe do a side by side taste test. :)

    Hi Matt, how r u ? I like to ask your opinion about bread making...why does homemade bread smell or taste too yeasty ??

    • @inthekitchenwithmatt
      @inthekitchenwithmatt  6 років тому

      Hello Chua, it depends on the yeast you are using, and how much you are using. Also too long of rising time might make it taste yeasty. If the recipe calls to let the dough rise for 2 hours, or until doubled, if the dough has doubled after only 45 minutes or an hour, then it is ready. Also if you are having trouble with yeasty bread, try using a little less yeast.

      Like I said in the video you can use whatever chocolate you want and whatever nut butter that you want, especially homemade organic peanut butter. And making them at home will be much cheaper than buying the Justin Organics ones. At Walmart it is like $2 and you only 1 package of 2 peanut butter cups. That is the beauty of making them at home, much cheaper, and you can make many different varieties and combinations.

    Yo Matt can i use regular Sugar or Brown Sugar For This

    • @inthekitchenwithmatt
      @inthekitchenwithmatt  5 років тому

      You can try it, but I don't think it will work very well, the reason why the powdered sugar works is it also helps to turn the consistency of the peanut butter into more of like a play dough, without making it too sweet. If you don't have powdered sugar, what I recommend is just put a layer of chocolate down first in the paper cup then put that in the fridge for like 10 minutes to firm up. Then just spoon normal peanut butter on top, without adding any extra sugar, then add another layer of chocolate. I just think it will get way to sweet if you use regular white granulated sugar or brown sugar.

      hahaha, powdered sugar while made from granulated sugar is not the same as far as calories, etc. For example if you were substituting powdered sugar for granulated, you would need 1 3/4 cup for 1 cup of granulated. But at any rate, peanut butter cups are supposed to be sweet. :) You can reduce the sugar a bit, but then the peanut butter gets super sticky and his hard to work with. But if you are making them, they are your peanut butter cups, so make them how you like. :) :) You can't go wrong and are easy to make your own variation.
