I'm 6 months in now, and definitely know what you mean about the weather. The past few weeks, I've been between 53 - 59 hours. Today, only 2 hours because of the rain, and tomorrow might be the same. It is what it is....

We have one yard that’s 90% automatic. But other yards are far behind lol. You gotta have some serious seniority to drive an automatic.

we get paid a minimum 45 hours even if we don't work it and we get a load bonus so the more i do the more i make, gives you the motivation not to sit round lol
A load bonus is what we don't get...getting late in the day some take a while on wash pad for a quick rinse, The look on their face is priceless when they're told to go under...oh and the language lol.

@Road Hog yup they started me at $19.25 per hr.and yes they pay time & a half and bonus on loads.its a damn good company.besides the cameras inside cab.but awsome company.i work Monday thru saturday.i always hit my bonus on loads.you should apply I'm honest awsome company to work for.

Moe have you noticed any slow down in business? Here in Mi I have noticed that things are a bit slower then the last 4 years at this time in the year.
@@stonestanza Just depends on your location. Extremly cold weather could shut you down unless your inside a building or pouring a basement, To much rain same thing and again for the snow. Being low man on the pole, you most likely will get laid off for 2 or 3 months. But again depends where you are. When I got back in to driving a mixer I was low man and got laid off every year for 4 year's but now I have 11 guy's below me and 8 above so the last 3 year's I have worked year round with decreased hours and I am in Michigan. Hope that helps you.

Depending on work load but speak to boss see if they will work with you. I am a single dad but I had help from his mom when I needed.
