I just retired after 38 years of driving a concrete mixer and if I would give you a little advice and this came from my father who also drove mixer for 30 years i thought about this alot ALWAYS RESPECTED YOUR TRUCK you know they can turn over in a heartbeat i never turned one over came close a few times. Be safe and enjoy your work.

Thanks for sharing this with us. It would drive me nuts trying to drive around a big truck like that in all that California traffic. We still use horse and wagons here in bamaland with a few cars and trucks. I'm so far into the deep woods, they have to pump sunshine in.

Great video, Really nice to see your job/life and hear your thoughts about the various jobs. As I'm fluent in Spanish it makes it easier of course :-) What confuses me sometimes is that the cars you're in seem to be right steered like the Beetle and your brother's car but maybe it is the front camera that mirror the view. Simple solution for the workers vehicles in the way, make them move the vehicles. Yes it's their concrete but that's your truck. I'm always making my contractors accommodate my needs as a driver for safety and efficiency.

They sign the paper, even then I’d be worried about busting sewer lines, or water lines.
Worse yet a gas line.
You have to remind them you are driving a very heavy steam roller😂.
My dad's he's 101 he don't go out to much any more. My mom she's in her 80s we'll I have a brother he's 81 and 6 sister's my dad was married twice I'm younger ones I'm 54 I have 4 girls 3 boys the oldest 34 the youngest 10 he sticks by my side all the time he's a daddy's boy I love them all and we all go out for breakfast supper sometimes lunch and do a lot of fun stuff. So I enjoy hearing that very much that you go out with your family this family means a lot.❤
I have to agree!! I hate chute pours!!!! Especially those jobs who believe you can pour hand curb out of 3 chutes with a 2-3 inch slump! 😡😡

Usually under 5 yards 1000 on the meter is a 4 inch slump. I always double check tho just to be sure

I drove mixer for 25 years and my pet peeve was when there were too many vehicles in the way. Didnt like chute pours when they were slow and i had to ride the clutch. Didnt like city jobs when city testers were checking almost every load and they would give you maybe one chance to adjust the slump and air. Always get out of the truck and walk the job to check it out if your not sure of how safe it is to approach it with the mixer.

I did the Mixer job for 12 months I didn't like it ! I didn't like the hours , it paid bad and I didn't like sitting around in the drivers waiting room for a load and the noisy Plant when loading etc .

I have a question for you. I just got my CDL and I have had trouble finding jobs.
Here is my situation: I got my CDL (class A, automatic restriction) at a trucking school that takes only 2 days (probably a mistake on my part). I thought I'd be able to find a job easily based on what I was told. I won't work on Saturdays due to religious reasons.
The only job offers I've gotten are to places that would require me to work on Saturdays at times. Most places want experience and if they don't require experience, then they require me to work the Sabbath.
Do you have any recommendations for me?

Find another line of work. Get the manual endorsement or buy your own truck. Nobody wants employees with all your restrictions. Sorry but employers make the rules, not employees. I'm an employer, fyi.
Try white Lithium grease in a spray can. That works better for the air suspension on the commercial seats suspension that works good for me.

Hello lexie Flores if you drive a concrete truck then you gonna have to do concrete chute pours thats the only way to go its way better than having to get a bag of concrete and sand and then mix by hand

With a small load like 3 yds it won't destroy it but there's a chance it would worsen the pre-existing cracks on that sidewalk, which the driver nor her employer in this case be accountable for since the customer signed the liability waiver.
