to be fair, they didn’t use very good clips if you wanna compare that specifically. lara gets progressively dirtier throughout rise, and shadow has her literally covering herself head to toe in mud for camouflage lol
To clarify the FPS dips in TR 2013, Crystal Dynamics were using TressFX 1.0 for the PC version, and TressFX 2.0 for the definitive version of the game.
TressFX 2.0, enabled foliage physics, along with dynamically adjusting hair rendering of Lara - on consoles, Lara's hair density will lower if the camera is zoomed out, but the hair will thicken, else it'll look like she's balding. The opposite will happen, when the camera is close to Lara. They did this to, obviously, cater for the game's performance stability on Xbox One and PS4, although, I am not sure if this game received a next-gen patch, disabling this dynamic hair rendering.
PC version used TressFX 1.0 (which the video shows, as DE altered Lara's face), and was rendering Lara's hair with full hair density, albeit being worst performant (as new iterations would've had more optimisations and enhancements, I guess) than 2.0.
Rise and Shadow used PureHair, which is derived from TressFX, but isn't as good as TressFX. I believe CD tried to make PureHair realistic, but there were times that the hair looked very shiny and dull.
Also, TR 2013 Definitive Edition (exception to PC version), had more 4K textures with many effects shown in the Alpha Trailer, restored. RotTR a little less 4K textures but had new lighting system if I can recall, and goes further downhill on Shadow in terms of overall textures resolution. I believe dirt textures on Lara on SotTR were in 2K, rather than 4K on RotTR, but correct me if I'm wrong on any occasion as my memory is a bit foggy on this subject.
Yes they did improve the graphics in the definitive edition. How does it play on series x or PS5
там какой то человек у которого руки из и голова не из того места растут так как игра 10 летней давности у него показывает 20 фпс у меня 10 лет назад она выдовала на плохом компьютаре 60 + фпс, а если тут такие проблемы то наверно какие то драйвера надо обновить в самой игре или что то включить, подобная приколюха есть в Follout 4 где долгие прогрузки пока не поставишь mod на скорость загрузки между локациями .
2013 had one of the best multiplayer modes of all times and I have played it for 5 years straight.

What resolution are these running at? Cause I have a 3060, and I can get more than 22fps in 2013 at max settings at 4K, without SSAA of course.

Tomb Raider 2013 was a surprising gem. Loved it. I loved the look of Lara and how she actually appeared dirty. Future titles never seemed to have captured the same flare.
To me for some reason it improved in 2015 then got worse in 2018

I just tested this today on definitive edition with my 3060. I averaged 248 fps gpu side with max graphics, A ryzen 5 5600 X and 16gb ram was used during the test. I wonder why the results were so wildly different. I can provide screenshots if necessary.
Yes it runs around 240-260 FPS with Full HD max graphics. This is filmed with 4K where it seems to average between 20-40 FPS depending on the scene.

Its my mistake lol. It can handle it, but not with 4X SSAA with 4K resolution. 4X SSAA produces the game at 4x the display resolution, which equates to 16K resolution. So yes, its basically running at 16K resolution in this video thats why it shows only 20 FPS.

2013 Tomb Raider was moving hair strands one by one (On a not so great graphics card, one could add...), whereas the other tomb raiders moved the hair strands in groups, thus the slow down

2013 is the peak of old gen graphics. Old COD games and some bunch of other games looks great even though it was released until the PS4 comes out and after that every game is making a 4k quality of texture

Lara's face in Tomb Raider 2013 has better texture details than in the Rise of Tomb Raider and in the Shadow of Tomb Raider.
It has better face expressions too.
The amount of details on 2013's game is impressive.

You can see the texture regression, but all of these games are only around 30 gb on Xbox (Rise being the biggest due to all the DLC that came out for that) so that's understandable.

The game runs on Maximum Graphics Settings: Ultra
Smoothly, without cuts, without stuttering, with FPS settings as tight as possible to Max.
This game looks really beautiful on Ultra.
There's one more setting higher than Ultra, it's called Ultimate.

Rise Of The Tomb Raider was so well optimized. I played that game on a GT 1030 and it ran well
2013's fps is low due to the strand based hair system like the one found in witcher 3. When you zoom into geralts hair like the one in the first clip it'll struggle with fps.

Couldn’t even finish 2013 TR 😑 game breaking bug that literally prevented me from moving on the next part in the map. Stupid crates would slide off the ramp and clip to the wall, tried EVERYTHING but to no avail. After a while gave up and moved on. Damn shame, was having fun with it.
