  • This is a short guitar lesson where I talk about improvising with voices that are rhythmically offset from each other. This technique is somewhat akin to 4th species counterpoint. I'm not the best at explaining, but I hope you enjoy the video.

    again Jonathan, where did this inspiration come from? did you study Bach or baroque theory, although it is included in the tonal system? Or did you get it by ear or listening and reproduce? ❤

      Thank you so much for your comment. The person who inspired me to play baroque music was Ted Greene. After that I studied species counterpoint, which composers use to learn this style of music. Instead of writing it on paper, I used it for improvisation practice on the guitar. Learning pieces from Bach by ear and analyzing them is something I do too.
