  • Not all herniated discs cause pain from a pinched nerve. Adhesions just might be causing your problem from the scar tissue that had formed from your injury.

Thanks for this. I have been checking your videos regularly. I had radiation treatment, surgery, and chemo for a tumor in my neck seven years ago. I have lots of fibrous tissue as a chronic long term side effect and I have lots of challenges with neck and shoulder mobility and pain. I am very grateful for the medical treatment and skilled physicians who treated me, but I discovered that most of the doctors I encountered knew nothing about how to improve the quality of my life with tools for improving flexibility and reducing pain. Many cancer survivors have these challenges. My hope is that in the future after care for chronic long term side effects will be an important part of the treatment plan for patients. I've had to educate myself, and your videos have been a big help.

    Exactly that I lived !
3 years doctors saying me it might come from your disc bulges but there are very insignificant… anyway do McKenzie…
It actually aggravates my symptoms by inserting/stucking these fibrosis between my l5s1 and sacroiliac L and R. Now there are stuck into these spots and makes my life a nightmare.
I live in France and 99% of the therapists sucks … I am planning to visit some therapists in USA.
Hope it will help a lot of you !

Getting movement into the area where the scar tissue is essential to helping remedy the issue. It will be VERY painful initially so set limits to how much work you do in the area, but should feel better by the next day if it's over done. Good luck to all and hang in there, there's hope! 🙏💕

6 months later pain and dozens of sessions of PT and pain is still exactly the same. Any and every movement just flares the pain for 2 days before returning to baseline. Our bodies haven’t evolved to heal damaged collagen. It’s all a scam.

I would give Anything to be Rid of the Debilitating~ Irritating Nerve Damage that seems to be getting worse and worse. It's Bad enough to Deal with the Excruciating Back Pain. Nerve Damage Drives me Crazy & is Worse at Night.
I've had 5 Back Surgeries" the last was to Remove a Spinal Stimulator that was Improperly Placed with No Trial... How can I get More Information and see if this can be done for me?

Currently applying DMSO on my lower back after an infrared sauna session followed by stretches to loosen up and break up the adhesions all over L5 S1 L4 discs and nerves.

You might also wanna try silicone scar gel if the adhesions are closer to the surface. It can work on the adhesions similar to the way that it softens a scar.

@motivationaldoc Verapamil and Pentoxyffline, oral meds for scar break down are what I'm trying. Scars around the spinal cord, dural sac, a stretch is NOT going to work but just traumatize your nerves more. Scars breaking down work with direct pressure on outside or near outside the skin, deep scars need steriodal epdiral injections at that vertebral level and/or the pentoxyffline and verpamil over time.

Which SCAN can see through the scar tissue?

  • @deankay4434

Lumbar surgery itself creates scar tissue but nothing can be done, if a knee, they put you under then two people pull the leg beyond a normal range tearing the scar tissue. What happens when you pull, jerk & lift something that tears thousands of muscle cells in the lumbar. 5 major muscle groups attach to the spine in the lumbar thru a flat web of tendons. Turn 3 groups of 5 muscle groups into scar tissue that have live nerves that falsely sense pain while trapped in scar tissue that was live flexible muscle. This is located by epidurals at the L2, L1 level. These nerves branch into this area, so if they use a non-particulate steroid the pain goes away for 1-2 days. If the use a particulate steroid, it can last 2-3 months. The danger is a doctor placing this into a vessel or into the blood stream in the signal cord cavity then you could have a cord-stroke. This can leave you paralyzed as this clumps like a blood clot starving the cord for blood. They inject a dye to make sure it is not moving as your heart beats. Risky, yes. Can it be done, absolutely! But remember it only last 2-3 months if the location is right. A 6’3” tall man bends and feels a burning pain that goes away if sitting and no arthritic inclusions or growths on the vertebrae toward the cord, as a disc would come from the front. If inclusion is located in an MRI, the removal of the back center of the vertebrae is done, still called a laminectomy. The burning is low, at the belt line up 3-4” and is a debilitating burning pain. A particulate steroid is cloudy and is similar to dry coffee mixed with hot water to make a solution. Depo-Medrol is one particulate steroid. Back pain sufferer, 10 years almost 11. It is horrible but you have to push the Dr. RFA is not a good option at the L2-L1 level as the nerve groups are distending and bi-lateral both and 80% go to the front to intestines, liver, adrenal glands, etc. Also, too small to risk fusion using any method including the Harrington method with metal hardware. It not the hardware or any procedure as more the load of the upper body & anything you lift, is now the tiny disc at L1-T level. Unless in a chair of broken, Drs. will not go that high!

I have a l3/4 disc bulge. Saw physios did the McKenzie stretch and hip thrusts no fixing. I’ve had this for over a year. Just always stiff and stuff and then started getting leg sciatica so went to chiro and he recommended adjustments twice weekly and only 1 stretch which is knees to chest wiggling because he said I have built up scar tissue we need to break. Does this sound right?

Hi! I have had(and still have) a lot of problems with my lower back after a strain injury from doing yoga desember 2015. After this my back has been unbelievably sensitive and unstable getting swelled up(L4 area) and also I get sciatica down my hip/thigh. Then after half a year I started having problems with muscles in the buttock and lateral hip. I developed hip bursitis. At the moment I`m seeing an orthopedic spezialist and what they have concluded so fare is that it could be muscle tension in the spine causing all this trouble (it´s not a disc herniation and no other pathological findings on MRI). And now I wonder if this also could result from scar tissue formation? If so could a massage therapist help with this?

Hi Antonio, I had the same thing, & lots of pain.I am not a doctor but a lump usally could be just the muscle.I had a Ims (intramuscular stimulation is where they put needles in your neck but they don't leave them in, like acupuncture they do.It does hurt but the results are beneficial.I got relief for months...Also they give you massage as well.In my xray it showed that I had a little spur as well.I would get it checked out....

and how do you work on the scar tissue?

    • @Holypikemanz
      @Holypikemanz 2 дні тому +1

stretching doesnt work for scar tissue. Look at videos involving the graston technique, basically rubbing a bar over scar on the outside of skin, causes them to break down. Scar in the spine are NOT going to respond to stretching. Steriodal, epideral injections at the spine and oral meds, pentoxyffline and verapamil work for inner scars.

This is a topic that should be related to all doctors and surgeons. I have a T5 scar tissue pain that the Chiropractor can feel and it snaps like a hard, thick rubber band. It is so painful, when I am out of pain meds I pray for death. I also have had three back and neck surgeries and have bad discs in all areas of my spine. But the T5 area is the most painful. I ice constantly and take long hot showers but it never ends. It feels like a hot knife is stuck in my back but I can`t pull it out.

I had an fast ischias and in two weeks was my leg under the left knee lame. Nothing. Dead. I underwent emergency surgery on my l5/s1 protrused disc and I had an complication: my epidural layer was teared and now there is a scarr tissue on the dura layer on that l5/s1 position. My leg is alive but my back pain is still here. 2 years after surgery. It's not less it's always excrutating without the strong meds. Even turn in bed, even going to bathroom, doing dishes in the kitchen...I can't get anything out of oven with my two hands, I need one hand to supporty my buckled upper body. I don't know what to do anymore..I am to young to be taking meds all my life, stop having sex, stop doing social stuff...I can't cook big meals for my guests anymore because I have to throw something in the trash can (below the knee) get something from storage (below the knee), fill or empty the dishwasher. ..it is in EVERY aspect of my life. I sit 8 hours at work...I can't drive car afterwards, I use public transport because I can more concentrate on avoiding the pain...gettimg off the bus is a procedure...I must have my groceries delivered because I can't lift and hold thar much any more. I don't know what to do...meds are helpful..but...opstipation, insomnia...my gut hurts and I'd rather throw up everytime I have to take it...two and a half years, two times a day...I am fed up.
