Seeing that simple drawing of the layers somehow resonated with me today. (4 mo sp TKA) I guess I'm a visual person,. I would enjoy listening, too, but the slight 'echo' from the simple sound system that's utilized does make it a bit less likely to follow with my 71y.o. ears.

Thank you so much David! The most helpful video I've found so far to help loosen incision site after I had my tendons in my thumbs stitched back together. The scar tissue is still blocking movement. Very appreciative of this video; Gave you a thumbs up, thank you 🙏
Thank you once again for this video. Im on week 4 after partial knee replacement. Ive been doing 2x a week physio and lymphatic drainage massage as well. This week, ill start this scar tissue massage as my wound has closed already. My flexion is at 110degrees and 0 extension. Though,it hurts still when sitting a dining table after 20min. Thanks a lot❤❤❤
I just love your videos and this one will help. I had TKR. in August and having the other knee done next week. My new knee has a few issues like, electrical shocks through the knee and leg and soreness/pain on each side of the leg and knee, swelling and stiffness. Fun!!!!
I had a knee replacement 2 years ago with 2 MUA’s because of the lack of ROM. IM STILL having issues with pain and swelling and can only bend to 95 degrees. I have tripped a few times because I’m not picking up my foot normally. It’s very frustrating as I went into this procedure to improve my life and now dealing with back pain as well. Is it too late for me to have another MUA WITH INTENSE PT to break up the scar tissue ?
Thank you for the more in depth explanation of what happens. I get keloids, and they're no fun. I thought there was something I could massage into the scars, but apparently not. I recently broke my leg/hip, and they put a rod down into the leg. Not sure about the upper connections, but I have several gashes that have become keloids. Very painful along with Fibromyalgia, and knee problems. I massage it anyway, and am learning to walk again on it. You have helped with every aspect of recovery. I am an old girl, so it's not easy, but I want to walk again, unaided. Thank you for explaining the scar problem. As well as the knee issue.
Hey Smallfootprint2961, we are so sorry to hear about your keloids, fibromyalgia and knee problems :-( Keep massaging them and trying to get some strength back! The physio starts with a heat pad for 10/15 mins to help, before physio, then ice pack following. I have nerve pain down my leg when I'm sitting, and my foot swells up every day. The hot weather contributes to my foot swell, but it started when the physio had me pushing my foot for knee bends. Now we don't use my foot. At home I use an icepack for my foot, 3 times a day. Swelling goes down overnight, but as I start my day, my foot hurts and swells. I hope my leg nerve pains recedes soon, as its uncomfortable, sitting...

This was great information. I am 10 weeks out from a TKR and am having a terrible time with range of motion. I only get to 110, and I still can not get it completely straight. Can a massage gun help?
How about recovery from back surgery you seem to know a lot about the legs.
I know someone who had a knee replacement, was starting to get better and then he got in an accident and his knee became worse. The doctors say they cant find anything wrong.
Hey Laura, thanks for sharing that story with us! Sadly, accidents happen and they are often out of our control :-(
Just in case you need it, here is a playlist with all of our videos on knee arthritis:

Oh, this isn't the video I was hoping for, which would be muscles and tendons. So far I got that you need to eat vitamins E and C, and protein, and keep stretching gently, but it was still too painful for a year. I had to reduce my level, and I never fully recovered.
Doc, you do realize there is a skeleton staring at you, right?

This is a great thorough video. I think you help people that know don’t regularly know what to do and you started from a lot of aspects. I am a massage therapist, so I was just looking for specific techniques for breaking up scar tissue. My client has a spinal fusion in most of her back my sister. Do you have another video for specific focused massage techniques are tools, etc..
