- There's a lot of garden action as Dan and Amaury take me on a midnight spin, we host lovely guests including the designer of Downton Abbey glasses, and Christie's call me to make the 4th (and final!) vignette in my absence...

I really cannot imagine LaLande without Amorie now. I hope he stays for a long long time. And we get to meet his mum and see Mummy and Amorie's Mumm stroll down the pergola.
And he keeps taking his shirt off. Am so bad at my old age. To many romantic books!

Deep bass thunder rolled over the estate grounds.
Lady Giselle clutched her hand to her ample bosom.
Ever since his lordship the Baron Hargrove had visited her she had been on the verge of tears.
She reflected on that dreadful meeting with the vile man.
They had met in this very room. He burst into her home unannounced and unbidden like a thief.
"Your father was reckless," wheedled the Baron in his nasally voice. "He bet heavily at the gaming table and lost everything to me."
"But Lord Hargrove, what shall become of White Oaks? Where shall my family go?" She asked, her pale blue eyes full of unshed tears.
"That is of course not my concern." He said appraising the room as though it were something being offered for sale.
"But there have always been a Covington at White Oaks."
"Sadly, that tradition ends with you." He sneered.
Giselle noticed he didn't so much as look at her. He seemed to avoid making eye contact. Instead he would watch her discomfort from the corner of his eyes. A small smile flirted over his lips. She was brought to mind of a chameleon she once saw at the zoo. He had the same general look of a reptile she thought as she noted his weak chin and pale fleshy lips.
"There is of course a solution to your dilemma..." He said with faint somehow smug smile teasing his lips.
"Oh? Pray what would that be?" She asked genuinely intrigued.
"You could marry me, become the Baroness Hargrove."
Giselle gasped, "But you know I am betrothed to Joseph Humble."
"Bah," scoffed the Baron. "The man is a fool. Forever writing his sappy poetry. He has naught a penny to his name. No fortunes. No title. Any woman who marries him is a fool."
"But we are in love." She cried. The prospects of losing all she held dear now came crashing over her like a tide breaking on the shore.
(Ahh. That helped. Now I can sleep)

One can really tell that Amaury and Stephany are cousins! So nice he could join her! He is a hard worker too.

I am really glad Stephanie has Amaury in her life because she has no siblings. He is the closest thing for her to having a brother. Cousins often fill the roles of siblings in modern times. Thank goodness for cousins. Does anyone know whether he has any siblings?
@@tamaliaalisjahbana9354 Stephanie does have Gerald Grady and grew up with him, although he was older they were close, and he is her step-brother. They are very close really.Not sure about Amaury and any siblings. But very true it is nice Amuary culd come and join her now and they do get along as well too. Gerald was ther nt long ago but it looks like he had to maybe return back to Scotland? Did not really see hiim leave though, I missed it.

Think now Selmar will get back into it all with the carpentry as well? I guess Tatyana will be working in soem way as wwell while there. Guess she plans to stay a montth, but we will see how long in theend she decides to stay as perhaps she will do well and truly like it alot and find she can work hard to help at the Chateau? She is now getting acquanited and finding her place.

Outside a sudden storm builds on the horizon.
The guests in the Grande Salon all have the hair on their necks go up.
A lonely and dramatic voice is heard somewhere in the chateau either quoting Shakespeares Scottish play;
"By the pricking of my thumbs, something wicked this way comes."
Or a more modern and up to date movie quote;
"I feel a great disturbance in the Force."

Honestly I love Isabelle.
She is a beautiful soul and a lightning rod of energy. Additionally she is the soul of practicality in the whimsy that is Lalande. May she be with us forever.

Oh my goodness. I am so glad I saved this video for so long to view. I was out of town and now am back to see this video. The pergola is going to be beautiful. I am glad you are constantly reevaluating as you go. I agree, I think the pergola needs to be taller. The final Christies vignette reminds me of the parties my husband and I used to hold at our previous home.... we would host parties on an outside terrace in San Diego, Ca. with views of Mission Bay and Sea World Fireworks with 25 to 30 people in attendance, my husband and I catering all the food. The next morning reminded me of your Christies vignette .... I honestly don't think we took photos of the aftermath. I can still see them in my minds eye..... thank you for inspiring the look back and memories.

Ok…so between Amaury’s red hair tie (a sign in horse riding that the horse is a kicker if it’s in its tail - aka he has a great sense of humour and can handle himself in a fight) and his effortless negotiation of the angled slats to protect fair maiden (aka Steph)…he’s basically the perfect Merrylegs from Black Beauty (my fav story as a child)…this guy is the gift that keeps on giving!! 😍💕 keeper for La Lande ❤️
Thank you so much Stephanie and the rest of the team for hosting such an amazing weekend! The food was incredible, the location was stunning, Selmar's tango lessons were such fun, and our group of guests were simply the best - there really are no words! La Lande is truly what dreams are made of!

Oh those naughty boys and their toys! Getting up to mischief in the dark and with the atmospheric cloudy moonlight, pierced by precision green laser. Wonderful stuff! Just love the contrast with the beautiful dinner, the piano playing and Selmar working his magic on the dance floor- so enigmatic and entrancing. I wish you could bottle this, you would be billionaire's in seconds.
Perhaps it wasn't a Christie's vignette, but the evening looked like so much fun.
Amery and Dan are having too much fun of their own on the digger to join the party. I love those two guys together.

Thanks for sharing the chat with the team at Christie's. I was wondering how the final vignette would look. I've never seen the cleanup after a Laland party, but I suspect other than Christie's pedigree furnishings, they probably nailed it.

I think one of the reason the taller height of the posts looks so good is that it looks like it matches the height of the other structures along the garden wall better.

The downtown Abbey eyewear was a wonderful idea and it's uni sex which is awesome, It looks wonderful on Salma, Stephanie and Tatiana in fact adding to Phillip'Phillip's statement Tat could do a whole photo shoot, her driving down and open road in a Cadillac scarf blowing in the wind.

I have yet to watch Downtown Abbey, (Don't remove me from the Lalande appreciation society.) Not for want or desire. Just have not found it on any of my streaming services. It is on my mental watch list.

Dan and Amaury were hilarious. Love the digger and dumper banter. The ride in the shovel reminded me of my youth riding in the back of my dad's lumber truck. Not a safe practice, but as a child it was like a hayride in autumn.

I doubt I could afford to stay there, but it would be a wish come true to meet the staff and tour the grounds and buildings.
(In truth as a person of extra weight, I would also feel slightly uncomfortable and out of place. Much like the proverbial bull in a Limoge China pantry. Lol)

Those Downton Abbey eyewear are going to be a huge hit. And I say this after only seeing one pair. I sooo wish I ll be able to buy a pair or two. But eyewear designers don't usually design for my eyesight disability. The frames have tobe a certain size and weight to not only take my lens but to ensure there isn't any eyestrain. Im going to keep my fingers crossed for these. 😁👍🦘
