It was fun to go back and watch the beginning of the journey all over again. I don't care how many times I hear it, the part about Tony and Ash being there to talk Terry out of it ... and ending up talking themselves into it ... is funny every time! I'm sorry for all the disparaging comments about the videography. I hope those people stuck around to see how much your filming improved with each new video. 🥰
I love the lads innocence regarding football. The most important thing in Jonathans life is football with nana. It does not get better than this. Pure love and knowing who you can depend on.
UA-cam pushed this today, so watched again. Oh my! The work you’ve all done is remarkable! It has been wonderful following your progress since that day. Well done! 🎉🎉🎉
Any dog person is "my" person! And the way you are handling your dogs tells me all I need to know - you are great good people! Best of luck in your dream
I've just found this channel from watching another couples journey with their Château. I'm really late so it will take me a bit to catch up as I plan on starting from the beginning (no peaking ahead). I just have to say the entrance gate is absolutely gorgeous, the drive up took my breath briefly, once manicured it will be stunning, I love how there's trees that make a tunnel and the Château structure is beautiful, I love the design and layout and look forward to seeing the inside and watching the progress.
I've been trying to get my Middlesbrough born husband interested in chateau programs for ages. This morning he watched your first vlog with me and wants to see more. I think the Middlesbrough top was the clincher and then hearing the familiar accent sealed the deal. We both look forward to following your journey. Well done.
I have such respect for anyone that takes on such a project!! All renovations have surprises!! I had a friend that once tell me , "double the time frame you have set and triple the cost you think it might be!" I bow to you!! You have so much more courage than me!!! I only wish you great success!!! Looking forward to watching your journey! God's speed!
Hello from our family farm in New Hampshier! Just found this introduction to your family. Jonathan answered my question of 22 acres. A good bit of prime land to manage. I lived three years in Odsal, near Huddersfield, so I know about where you are moving from! I know you are all going to love living in so much open space and stellar country side! We shut our farm down to the public in March 2020. So no hired help to hay. Three of us are running the 350 acre farm and it was amazing that we are managing! We continue to be shut down due to Covid restrictions. But we do supply hay, beef cattle, logging and fire wood to our customers. New Hampshire only has a population of around 1.3 million. Much of our state is heavily wooded and farmland, with 13 miles of seacoast.. There is industry in the southern section. I'm so happy for your family! I'm confident that you will adapt well to this new lifestyle. There are many of us around the globe who can help with questions on the basics and the rest should be one grand adventure and a great joy! ~ Diane
Wow, you posted this video in januari 2021. I(binge) watch this video end of august 2022. A one and half year later. I see big changes. Not only in the chateau and cottage( gite in french) but also in the persons.Especcialy Johnathan. He became from a shy little boy a big boy, allmost a teenager. Just in 1,5 year! And all of you seem so much healthyer and bright and shiny in a possitive way. Life in the chateau is absolutely possitive for all of you.
Wonderful - cannot but admire the strength and tenacity of those taking on these massive restoration projects. Beautiful chateau and estate already existing which needs much hard work and the necessary financial input. Good luck and look forward to your progress on You Tube.
It is always fun to go back and rewatch your journey from the very beginning. Seeing how absolutely amazing both the cottage and the 3rd floor of the chateau have become, it is almost impossible to remember the broken windows, holes in the floors and walls, and especially the hay filled cottage. And we can’t forget Tony with his long hair and facial hair! Your filming and editing have taken on more of a professional look, while still keeping the family and the daily activities front and center. The family, including the ever present furry friends, are always there to welcome us to their new home. Fortunately Jonathan has grown up a bit, and although he still interrupts most conversations taking place, he seems to have learned to curb his attention seeking at least most of the time. It is after 2 AM and I should be sleeping, but I think I will travel down memory lane for a little longer and enjoy watching your family’s dream unfold bit by bit.
Welcome to France 🇫🇷 hubby and I have been living in central France for six years and absolutely love it ( in a much smaller house than yours , by the way ) you have made a very brave decision to live here , but you won't regret it , France is a marvelous country to live in , very unspoiled and the French people are lovely. It will take you a while to settle in but it will be so worth it once you have found your feet . Looking forward to watching your journey with the restoration project. Good luck and happy renovating 👌🏻 Rose 🌹
So happy to meet everyone...I'm from USA but I wish I was in France. I have alot of family there but have lost track of them after my Mom died. I did go to France mainly Grenoble when I was 11. I've always wanted to go back. So I will be watching enviously...happy renovating!
Lovely family and it looks like a beautiful layout for the chateau. I would like to see a walk through of the whole chateau to see what challenges you have to deal with and the architectural beauty that still remains. Please continue your great work.
Very excited to see your next episode. The grounds look amazing. All those stone steps and walls. Such character to be unearthed and reclaimed. Also cannot wait to see more of the inside of the chateau. The good, the bad, and the ugly and then the plans you have and the improvements your are able to do will keep chateau lovers coming back. You all seem like such good hearted average people. Regular folks. Be yourselves and bring us along for the ride. Laughter, tears et all. Greetings from cold snowy Northern Ohio.
It's a massive project you have all taken on and I wish you the very best of luck in turning it back into a Chateau of high quality. The work in the grounds alone looks way beyond what most would wish to tackle!!
I’m re-caping . I’ve watched from the beginning. You all have accomplished so much. You all must be so proud of your accomplishments 🥰 sending love from Saskatchewan Canada 🇨🇦🫶
Hi all‼️ thank you for introducing yourselves and telling your story of how you got to the chateau 😊 it’s going to be a really great journey to go on‼️👏🏻 I will see you all soon I hope👍🏻
Awesome, I can't wait for the full tour. I would recommend a microphone for the interviews it was very hard to hear you guys, but the Close Captioning worked.
I’m old lol and American so I’m sure lacking on my part lol but with the accent and my hearing a microphone would be delightful. Another adventure in a French Chateau from the beginning is just so exciting. Seeing the room was so special but I don’t mind not seeing legs if we could get closer to the pups and closer to your faces lol. What a beautiful day to show us outside.
How fortunate that you guys took all that initial video of the place. It will be a job! Well worth it I would think. I look forward to watching it all evolve from here in Denton, TX, USA. My daughter suggested your channel. We both watch The Chateau Diaries and I had seen you I think on Chateau Rescue. Best of Luck and God Bless. 🥰🙏🏻
Very hard to hear, but its looking exciting - Im really looking forward to you showing us some original features, and hopefully some restoration (not renovation!) . Good luck to you all (and please get some good microphones so you keep us on board!)
Thank you for the introduction. You are living my dream. I love that this is a multi-generational endeavor. I can't wait to see the progress and wish you the best of luck!
Hello from Maine USA. I wish you all a great adventure. Now I can't wait to see it with the beautiful things I am sure you are going to it. I just love to see people renovating the old historical buildings. Good luck.
This is going to be so much fun watching you all renovate and bring life back to that beautiful chateaux ! Sending positive thoughts and wishes all the way from Vancouver Island Canada. 😃
What a wonderful peace of history! What a lovely family trying to bring it back to life. Best wishes. I’ll be following your progress and wishing you guys the best!

Hello Chateau family. I can see why you fell in love. When you opened the gates & went along the tree lined drive :) I love the proportions & turret 🥰 It needs so much work but you have the passion to do it. So glad we’re with you for the adventure! Loving your little dogs too 🐾 Looking forward to your next vlog. Thank you :)
So excited to be following you at the beginning of your new journey, the grounds and chateau are gorgeous. Can't wait for inside tour. Thanks for sharing your place with us

Awww, the dogs playing "Kissy Face".
That Scotty and dachshund seem to have a thing going on.

I look forward to seeing the château for myself once it is open to visitors. Good luck and Godspeed.
Thank you very much 😁
Turn the volume up, can hardly hear what you're saying but otherwise good, looking forward to following the progress.
Between the UK accents and the echo I had to stop watching. Darn it, this is my kind of Channel. Lots of time to improve. I’ll try again next time.
Add captions for hearing impaired?
Darn...with the sound...it was inaudible.... oh well still don't know who is who
@@chantallennox1201 I turned on the closed captions which helps. Although it keeps using 'shadow' instead of 'chateau'.
@@rebecca6017 The accents are no problem. The echo is so I turned captions. Problem solved.
Lovely semi circular wall. The garden and land has sooo much potential for a stunning formal garden🙂
Thank you very much 🥰
How wonderful for your family! My family will be watching your journey from Canada and sending lots of encouragement.
Thank you very much 🥰
