    Amaury has the most beautiful speaking voice. He needs to do books on tape or a Podcast to show off his speaking.....

      I was thinking the same. It’s a soft voice but it carries. I can’t understand Selmar most of the time. He really whispers. Even the CC can’t catch what he’s saying because he speaks in a whisper. I had to stop watching his channel because it got so frustrating. I think he needs a super good mic close to his mouth. 😆

      @@debshaw680 i think a lot of people enjoy Selmar’s soft whispery voice! I have a coworker who sounds similar in real life, and talking with him is really relaxing. But I have noticed that UA-cam sounds REALLY different depending on what device I am watching, and also if I put on headphones. I have good hearing but I do watch in areas and times of day where there is some ambient noise, and sometimes I have to fully turn a video off and save it for later, especially if watching on my phone, because I can’t hear it or understand someone!

      Erick, I was just thinking the same thing, next to him I must sound like "Mickey mouse". BTW podcasters have a "specialized" microphone that makes them sound much deeper voice most of their real voices are average sounding. And also I think Selmar, got a new 🎙️ microphone so now he is "heard"😁.

    Hi Stephaine: Due to the castrophic failure of your heating system I strongly suspect your have galvanic corrosion going on. Merely replacing the radiators will not solve the problem. Galvanic corrosion maybe caused by a water line being run next to an electrical wire some where in your system. It can also be caused by your system having two different types of metal fitting coming into contact with each other. Check the ph of the water you are using to fill the system. If the water has a high in alkaline or sodium, this maybe the cause. (Do you have a water softner at the chateau? Fill your system with water that has not gone through the water softner as most water softners use sodium) Also check the electrical ground on your water pump to make sure that it has not come loose.

    Hi Stephanie, I hope you don’t mind me putting my two pence in regarding your central heating. I seem to remember years ago that if galvanise steel fixings were installed with copper or steel in the system it caused a reaction with the other components hence caused other fixtures like radiators and pipes to corrode and leak. When you and Amury showed the radiator on the vidio it reminded me of this problem. I could be wrong but it might be well to check this out, as it is an old building .

    is it possible to add a valve on the radiator supply line so that the water to each radiator can be turned off individually? Might make future maintenance easier?

    HEIDI DAUS was at Lalande….OMG!!! I’ve watched Heidi 4-5 times a year, every single year since her first show on HSN 18 years ago in the US. I’m a huge collector of her pieces (over 400 now and counting), so I almost fell out of my chair when I saw her on today’s vlog. I’ve also been watching Stephanie since early Spring 2020 (1st or 2nd show) and found it amazing that my other imaginary BFF, Heidi was there too!!! This is truly a small, small planet! 🤗

    Is there no heating expert among your patreons or subscribers who could help you? I personally would try to go for a sustainable option. I know that castles are very hard and expensive to heat therefore it would be good to have a long term plan. And double check if really the radiators are the problem and not something in the system as some comments mentioned. Not that you end up changing radiators every year.

      I think the geothermal was chosen because it is one if the most sustainable methods, however, it seem’s like Lalande’s could use some upgrades down the road (it was mentioned during the overview of the land survey with Davey I think), and now there is also something else that’s happened with the system that I am sure they will discover!

    Stephanie, Have you ever explored the possibily of "Ground to Air" heatpumps for the apartments within the Chateau? They would be fed by the same ground source as your "boiler" but provide zoned, forced air, heating and cooling, Nick & Marie's, Michael's, Mummy's, Natalia's, Jerry's as well as the Marquis's apartments could all be fitted with individual air handlers feeding off of the "anti-freeze" from the current system (with built-in back-ups) and could then offer heated as well as cooled rental units. This should reduce the drain on the current or any new boiler. Just a thought, but could be a better way ro heat the building as it grows. Just a thouht to explore.

    I notice that the thermal insulation in Nati’s apartment is covering the area between the two new French doors at the back where you hoped for another window. Were you denied planning permission?

    • @DamsonElvira1212
      @DamsonElvira1212 3 роки тому

      @@debbiebirnbaum2977 the rear ground level is higher so this is a practical solution to allow Nati a view from her bedroom/living room and easy access to the garden but will also give interest and a sense of more space to the apartment. I just wondered about the planned extra window. Reflective surfaces in the decoration will move light around the space so I’m sure it won’t be a problem.

    Another fun vlog. So much is going on. Hope the heating issues get sorted out. Definitely need some expert advice regarding how to prevent in future. Getting the water tested for hardness is a good idea as that can cause pipe erosion and leaks. Can't wait to see the projects from Chateau DIY. Natie must be so excited. Her apartment is coming along nicely 😍😘

    Judging from the rudimentary calculations installing the appropriate heaters you will see a significant jump in your electricity bill you may also need to consider investing in solar cells a couple of things come into play when you're checking for your heating these include what sort of insulation you have and the type of windows for heat leakage

    I wonder if Flex Spray would be a quick repair for all the radiators until you get replacements. It’s a product from USA I think. If sprayed on boats, canoes etc, they would allow them to float without any leaks. Temporary.

    Looks like pressure is high on several of the radiators. Should have done in floor heating way cheaper and warm on the toes. There is recycle money to be had on old radiators weight and metal content. New ones are way cheaper than constantly redoing older models. Busy as bees there and Beeswax smells heavenly!
