I don't understand how some guides recommend taking kill for the first beachhead quest. You either get some approval, or a second hero. But looking at it wholistically, riftborn already get massive approval bonuses for sterile planets. A whole lot of planets are going to be sterile, and the systems that have no sterile planets isn't ideal for riftborn anyway. So you are getting more approval on your boatload of approval, which is completely overkill since you can only have 100 max approval. Compare that to Anax jinx, who has a seeker specialty. That means that you can have a second hero early on in the game with a movement buff. Considering that all riftborn ships will pretty much be stuck at 4-5 movement until very late game due to the hunter class only having 1 support module and thus 1 movement module, and that riftborn have weary travellers, makes Anax a major early game asset as a military leader because he will make your ships not slow as death. Isn't this choice a no brainer? Either overkill on your approval or a second hero with a mobility buff that negates some of the riftborns most annoying mechanic?
Great guide. Not just on the Riftborn but Endless Space 2 as well.
Thank you!
Thanks for the guides. Just want to point out the music is so loud I can hardly hear what you are saying. Thought I'd let you know for future videos.
Thank you.

Very nice guides, i hope you will have enough enthusiasm for all types of empires
The Riftborn reminds me of the Sowers from ES1, they are the industry boys
I would recomend building your Main Population first so no annoying minor Population grows
Jeez, turn off the damn music if you're going to give commentary!
