    It has been fun to watch all the live cams the the people of Iceland are so kind to set up with these eruptions, thank you all. Too bad the experiment with the cables probably will not succeed. I remember a similar situation with the 2021 eruption. Totally coincidental, of course, but if the same happens the next time, you could say that maybe buried cables are an effective lava barrier? Just joking 😉

      Hahahha, that's a good point. That would be breakthrough discovery 😂

      Well there's next year. Or a new fissure might open up. There's still a lot of magma in the intrusion, I think about 70 million cubic meters. If there's enough pressure in it it might open up somewhere else. Maybe. I'm not sure how much of a connection this eruption has to the rest of the intrusion, if this is just a small offshoot or a separate intrusion that came up at the same time as the main intrusion.

    Has anyone else noticed that eruption by eruption, the eruptions occur more northeast to the last one?

    • @Hliarmenn
      @Hliarmenn  Рік тому +6

      Yeah, after this eruption it sealed the deal. The trend is to the northeast. That would technically mean that the next eruption could be the most dangerous one as it would have the clearest path to the main road. We'll see if the trend continues next year😂

    it must be the curse of the cable that causes the eruptions to keep ending, didnt that happen last time 🤣

    • @Hliarmenn
      @Hliarmenn  Рік тому +1

      Yep, it did. I think the conclusion from these experiments should be that test cables end eruptions 😂

    Hliarmenn,
    The floods from Katla could be an explanation. I was seeing whirlpools, which is interesting. Can happen when land is sinking, as the water fills the voids.
    If you have some time, look into the underwater city of Thonis-Heracleon. A whole city sunk around 10 meters into the ocean during Earthquakes about 1800 years ago. No records of the disaster whatsoever. Strange, you would think a city disappearing into the sea would be note worthy.
    This shows us that large areas of land are capable of rising or sinking at a moments notice.

    Well I was hoping this one would last as long as the 1st one darn it. I guess well have to wait until next year because its looking like this is yearly thing there and hey another big one might pop off before then too. Hopefully when it does it doesn't cause any problems. Its a good thing they are far form people. The cable thing lol, well they had better start that right away on the next one and not wait. lol If its in a spot they can do it, like the 2nd one they couldn't really do that because of where it was and where the lava flowed. Maybe next time it will go off closer to Keilr.

    • @Hliarmenn
      @Hliarmenn  Рік тому +2

      Yeah I was also hoping for another, long, cozy eruption but it looks like these shorter ones are more common in the Fagradalsfjall system.
      Would be insane to get another eruption next year 😂🌋
      Another system in Iceland will probably erupt by the next eruption from Fagradalsfjall with Katla and Askja being the most likely.

    R.I.P volcano. Time for Askja!

      From what I've heard it's not as accessible as this one. Plus there's no way to put up livestream cameras to record it, at least not as close as the ones here since Askja is more remote. Plus, since there's a large lake over the magma chamber, there's a chance that part of the eruption could be highly explosive, possibly similar to the Honga Tonga Honga Hapai eruption last year, not as large but still dangerous.

    There was a gap in the clouds a few minutes ago on the livestream and it appears that the eruption may have stopped.

    • @Hliarmenn

      Yeah, it has been confirmed that it has stopped.😔

    I'm sticking by my prediction that there will be no new lava erupting by the end of the day tomorrow.

    Hliarrmenn, do you believe in dreams sometimes showing the future? The dreams we have during sleep I mean.

    • @Hliarmenn
      @Hliarmenn  Рік тому

      That's a damn good question.
      I don't have a yes or no answer but I do find dreams really interesting and how mysterious they are. I always find cool when Deja vu is explained to maybe be due to dreams you've had.
      All in all, I'd like to believe dreams have a deeper meaning we don't understand yet.

    Have tremors and earthquakes also decreased in quantity and frequency?

      Yep, everything is pointing towards an end

  • @sigisoltau6073

    What about the magma in the rest of the intrusion? Is there any indication that it's on the move? Or might come up in another area?

    • @Hliarmenn
      @Hliarmenn  Рік тому +1

      It looks like the influx of magma into the intrusion has stopped so the possibility of another fissure opening is none.
      We were definitely spoiled in the first eruption 😂

    • @sigisoltau6073
      @sigisoltau6073 Рік тому +2

      @@Hliarmenn That sucks. I was hoping the influx still happening and we see another phase in the eruption.

    Did they really find a way to stop lava flow s? Put test cables into the ground and the lava will stop! The last time it was the same!🙈🤣
    Thank you for your Videos from Bavaria!!!🙏🏼😃👍
