STUNNING Drone Video of ICELAND VOLCANO Eruption | 4K DJI FPV

- Опубліковано 20 вер 2024
- The ongoing eruption of the Icelandic Volcano Fagradalsfjall in the Geldingadalir valley was one of the most magnificent sights I have ever witnessed in my life. It is hard to put in words but this once in a lifetime drone footage may give you an idea what it feels like to be there.
In my next video I will be taking you on the ground and talk about what it's like to fly drones around a volcano and what you must look out for so you don't crash.
Talking about crashing - have you seen the epic crash into the volcano:
• EPIC DRONE CRASH into ...
Shot on DJI MAVIC 2 PRO and DJI FPV.

Unbelievable film. Never seen anything like this & such quality. It facinates me. Thank you very much for your coverage👍👍
Thanks a million!
I second this !!! Absolutely fantastic usage of music and high quality film !
@@Joey_Helms your video was on CBS news this morning in NYC, good for you
Wooohoooo
@@Joey_Helms And on Connecticut news at noon time. Getting to be famous there buddy. Take care
Stunning is an understatement. Incredibly unbelievable!
🙏🙏🙏
@@Joey_Helms Hey this footage is phenomenal! Would it be possible to get your permission to use some shots from it for a personal project? I'm a vfx artist, and I'd love to add some character/fx to some of them
If there was ever a time where we could jump back 3 billion years or so to see what our Earth was like in it's infancy that time is now, stunning shots,i wish i was there to witness this for myself.
But really sorry The prophets and his people has witness it
Great drone footage and editing to music, respect and thanks, Love seeing the volcano and how it changes from day to day. Thanks.
Thanks so much for the kind words!!! Really appreciate it! 🙏
@@Joey_Helms hi
@@Joey_Helms loved it. Could you perhaps do some extended footage of the now “dormant” vents as a sort of In Memoriam.

Thanks so much for watching! 👍 What was your favourite shot and would like to see an extended version of? Let us know down below :)
How did you retrieve HD footage from your crashed drone? Was this a HD radio link?
The direct overhead shot looking down into the crater was amazing. Seeing the lava bubbling and the cracks forming in the darker cooler parts was awesome.
All of it. Mind blowingly luscious, epic film. More please!!!
Epic
Yes! Give us please the extended version of the sequences!!
I'd seriously want behind-the-scenes of all these!!!
Coming in a few days ;)
@@Joey_Helmsr
no music!! Just the sound of the volcano is enough to be thrilled with the footage. good job on the video.
Thanks :) More coming soon!
There's music lol that thump... yeah it's music tribal boiii also planet earth take notes
I think the music is appropriate
People are maybe not so aware that sound recording on a drone only yields a high-pitched whine, and that the videos where you "hear" the volcano are sound designed, often without any sound recorded at the actual volcano.
@@prmft94123 The music is a very thoughtful and appropriate choice in my opinion.
The volcano gods appreciate your drone sacrifices.
It is a problem. It is a hole in Earth Crust. Tell leverybody. It is not Fun.
@@ParadiseSinlessLife Yes, that is what a volcano is. A hole in earth's crust that is allowing molten rock to rise from far below, from the lower crust or sometimes right from the mantle. It's fine.
@@Lessinath It is not fine because structure of Earth becomes not fixed and at pressure from inside out the whole planet can blow. Active volcanoe menas problem with pressure inside. If you add information that gas and oil are taken out => earth crust becomes chips thin. End of out time is near. God will open portal in cosmos and all sinless people will be transfered to sinless Paradise in cosmos. Satan is against. Conclusion: become sinless person. ua-cam.com/video/VNGUdObDoLk/v-deo.html
I cannot chose a favourite shot, the whole 4 plus minutes is the winner for me! By far the best footage ive seen, anywhere, Ever ...for any volcano/ eruption.
Utterly stunning, dramatic and detailed.
Thank you!
I second this! 👍🏽
One minute of standstill, no movement at all, would have been nice, to let the beauty of the pictures sink deep into your eyes.
You can always pause.
@@Leyrann That's too simple!
The pause (K) and mute (M) vastly improve the view of the great scenes!
Drones melt too and that's hot!
THAT WAS INCREDIBLE! What amazing shots! Mother earth is terraforming. How blessed are we to live to see that!
Thanks so much 🙏
Drone photography/videography is the tech miracle of this era. It’s low risk, low cost and high quality and accessible to all. In my generation (baby boomers) a helicopter plus camera crew would gave had to make a dangerous and expensive flight to capture this. Now, anyone with around £500 can capture the wonders and sights of nature. Great video, thank you.
🙏🙏🙏
My daughter is 2 1/2 and very interested in Volcanoes. She gets livid if I try to show her any videos of volcanos but this one. We watch it on the regular. She’s both in awe and slightly afraid of the volcano telling everyone she can about how dangerous volcanoes and lava are. Your filming is beautiful and I look forward to her getting enamored with another video of yours.
Ha, this is so wonderful to hear! :)
Such powerful footage! And powerful drone
Wonderful views but we'd love to see some slower paced video in addition to the quick short clips. We've followed the eruption since the beginning and drones provide the best overall view of the spreading lava. Looking forward, too, to learning more about the challenges of flying close to the crater. A suggestion: attach a small high/low thermometer to the drone to record the highest temp. They weigh very little.
I was thinking about the thermometer idea. I will be back in July. Maybe then. In the meantime I will have a slower, longer video coming too. Stay tuned.
@@Joey_Helms How far was the lava flow from the sea when this footage was shot?
Wow, outstanding film! Great soundtrack. Right over the beating heart of mother nature as she pumps out her fiery blood.
I would gladly watch a feature length movie completely made of footage shot by a drone circling around a volcano .. watching the lake boil and explode
Maybe I can give you 20-30 mins ha
this gave me chills, seriously. never seen anything like it before!
The best suite of exposure, contrast and color saturation I have seen on this eruption. Well done and very professional.
Amazing work. The one will minor eruptions looked amazing. Perfect.
I've finally found exactly the kind of filming of the volcano that I've been craving. The editing to the music and the images themselves are close to being perfect. The choice of sound effects and the music itself are close to being perfect. Well done, Joey! I'm seriously impressed!
Thanks so much for the kind words 🙌
These footage are the effulgent tears of Mother's Earth , and beyond description , unfathomable and comfortable to the eye
From
Tokyo of the Land of the Rising Sun 🇯🇵
Epic, however slow down the drone or footage while flying over the lava rivers so we can see the details and intricacies of the lava please. And thank you 🙏🏽
@@eugeneeven8266 You can slow it down it post-procession though.
@@silviagroniewicz5043 Not on mobile, but that would be great 🙏🏾
@@itsyah It's edited on mobile? I wouldn't even dare touch a 4k video on a mobile device!
I love the close ups of the lava slipping black crust over orange . I could stare at it for ages ! Thanks
The overhead shot was my favourite.
Can't believe this fantastic and scared scene does exist on our planet, thank you for taking the risk of losing drone and bringing us such a beautiful film 👍👍👍
Thanks 🙏:)
The crater looks like "The Eye of the Tiger"as it fills with the Magnificent Magma direct from the Mantle
Thank you for making me watch this ...
Amazing quality, but many people would appreciate longer slower shots. For me, this is too much like a music video stylee. More please, but take your time!
Noted! I am planning to make a 20-30 mins cut for those who like to indulge in the footage :)
@@Joey_Helms
Oh yes please, that’s the way to go. 🇷🇴🇬🇧👍🏻
It was nice way of making a video. Something different then all the other same old videos peoe make.
@@Joey_Helms Done! That alone has made me subscribe! Thank-you for the awesome footage - it's such a blessing to be able to marvel at this incredible event - and all from the comfort of my home!
I did like this video but it kept jumping around so much I was like no no go back no keep showing this wait just hold right there. A longer version would be appreciated.
My favorite shot was the sun going down and than the inside of the volcano glowing the same deep orange color. Great transition!
I love that one too! Who is hotter, the sun or the volcano ;)
Wow, this is spectacular. So grateful for such amazing footage. Watching from South Africa 🇿🇦.
The view at 2:57 time line was a show stopper for me. I hurried up and hit the pause button. Thanks Joey from Southern California !!!
Thanks a lot Albert!
I'm definitely interested in seeing more footage of the lava lake bubbling and erupting from this Drone!
without drones we are nothing .. I love this movie show ... takes my mind from coronavirus
Stunningly beautiful, best drone footage I have ever seen. Keep them coming.
Thank you for showing us who are fascinated by lava flows a view of our amazing planet rarely seen.
🙌🙌
Absolutely brilliant footage and flying skills particularly love the overhead shots of the volcano 👌👌👍👍
Thanks a million Andy!
I've whatched every video I can find about this volcano. Yours is the best I've seen.
Absolutely stunning!! My favorite shots are inside the crater and following the lava flow as well as the lava dripping off the inside crater wall!!! Im a professional photographer so some of those screen grabs with the dark background and the slithering snakey lova flows are breathtaking!! Thank you for all that you do!
The dripping is my favorite. It's so mesmerizing!
@@dot9000 Right??

Danke danke!!! 🤙
No only the footage, but the editing is amazing. You have a gift and I thank you for sharing it with us!
AMAZINGLY beautiful.... wonderful cinematography.
My most sincere congratulations to Joey Helms because he was dedicated enough to sacrifice a dron to get the best images ever captured in HD video for all of us to enjoy. My best moment on this video was your image (2:09) showing the high risk of being right next to the lava river controlling the dron. Congrats Joey, fantastic job
Thanks so much 🙏
Amazing!!!!
The shots of inside the crater are mind blowing!! 🤯
Breath taking and spectacular video! One of the best drone footage of the volcano I've seen so far, well done and thanks for posting!
Thanks a lot! :)
Completely Mesmerising fantastic footage
EXCELLENT!!! GREAT TO HEAR THE VOLCANO
Thanks!
the eye-like shot of the crater was fantastic
Some clips are great. Others switch to quickly and I.
‘m not even sure what I’m seeing.
Yes, The quick switching when I would love to stare for ages was rather stressful, especially with the dark sections and drumbeats. It just torments you with a quick flash and not giving the chance to appreciate it. However, these are stunningly good images, very beautiful. It would be nice to see a different edit. If you have a lot more footage I would love to see it. This volcano is the most interesting thing on UA-cam at the moment.
@@ericrawson2909 special gift for you , this is one of the best video of an eruptive activity , all volcanoes worldwide included , and be sure that I know what i'm talking about ;)

amazing content. I found your youtube channel through the dutch news because they made a small article about your drone crashing into the lava. It's very cool to watch !
OUTSTANDING footage Joey!!!!! Absolutely beautiful and somehow hypnotic. THANK YOU

Magnificent images, great job 👍 Thanks a lot
Amazingly shot. But that music and sound design. That’s the cherry on the top 👌🏼
Great compilation of drone views! 👍 I most enjoyed looking directly down into the crater itself. What a unique perspective!
Amazing right? :)

Dangerously good footage, you need more attention🙏🏻
Astounding views, right into the 'maw' of the raging volcano!
This is just stunning. I love that the drone's flyby pattern makes the camera angle bank like a fixed wing airplane. Much more natural. This is by far the best footage of the volcano I've seen yet. Thanks so much!
Thanks so much for the kind words. Glad you like it!
the sound design is UNREAL!
Wow, this looks like what they make CGI'd in movies.
Because they do.
It’s like the opening shot in an epic Hollywood movie...
It’s exactly how I imagined it would be.
WHOA IN THE FIRST SECOND I INTANTLY GOOSEBUMPED BY THE DRONE CAPTURE, AMAZING!!!

Definitivamente, éste es le mejor video qué vi! Hay muchos, algunos bastante buenos; pero éste definitivamente es el mejor, como vuelas ese drone, la música. .... perfecto. ...

Well deserved Ntl attention on your crash and this is just as stunning and thrilling! WTG Joey
Oh Lord!
What an impressive ride on the strength and beauty of nature!
Even with all the danger, it is still admirable to see what we cannot change.
Thank you for that!
Great filming Joe, can you give us an extended version of the different shots? I felt too cut off with all the editing and not enough time to enter in the beauty of each sequence.
Watching this video at midnight by having headphones with full volume is just amazing..
Be careful. Another drone just got “eaten” by the crater😅.
Sounds vaguely familiar :D
@@Joey_Helms I did see your drone enter the volcano. Happy you got to go to Iceland and see this once in a lifetime event. Take care and looking forward to seeing your next visit.
Amazing! Thank you! I love it when the drone is above the vulcano.
The editing on every aspect and level of this video is INCREDIBLE. Thankyou for transporting us into a rarely seen epic display of mother nature. Definitely one of my favorite videos ever on UA-cam. Out of everything. I feel like I was flying thru murder or something!
Thanks so much!
@@Joey_Helms did the lil drone that fell into the volcano have a name? I feel it should have some kind of funeral 😥😅
This is so beautiful! This needs to be submitted for some type of award!

Great exposure of the magnificent volcanoes
This is AMAZING. I don't know what else to say, it cannot be really described how amazing this footage is.
My favourite I think is at 01:57. I would also love to see one more slow paced, to be able to enjoy the magnificent of nature and the hypnotic character of lava.
GREAT JOB, thanks for sharing it to the world
Thanks so much for sharing and the kind words Andres ✌️🙌
Drone would melt tho😂
Klasse - herrliche Aufnahmen bei denen man so richtig sieht wie ein Vulkan arbeitet .Liebe Grüße Jörg
Danke danke :)
Incredible footage! Just wish the editing had been a bit more coherent, longer views and less jumping around. That’s just me. Great work.
Thanks and longer cuts are coming in the next week or two
that was the best footage I have seen so far, thank you Joey.
Thanks so much 🤙
My God! That crater is like the entrance to hell.
Awesomeness! Loved the audio synchronized of the video. This will be watched many times.
Thanks so much 🤙
Quite a lot of beautiful shots, but I want to see them for more than 2-5 seconds. Far too much of speeded up shots zooming along over the lava flow. Had to turn the sound off early on because of all the silly noise that was added. What a wasted opportunity, it could so easily have been brilliant.
Completely agree! The clips seem chopped. The black images inserts are just stupid!
I disagree. That was some of my favorite footage and editing. In my opinion, it added an element of mystery to the whole volcano itself. Additionally, the editing (of which you complained) certainly makes the volcano appear far larger than it certainly is. It also allowed him to highlight aspects of the volcano that would be caught in otherwise highly anticipated fashion.
The opportunity he lost is satisfying viewers who would have liked to feel that they’ve been there and got to see the entire volcano for themselves. But I can almost assure you, that’s not the feel he was going for. If I watched the video with a different desire, I may have been dissatisfied as you were. But thankfully I didn’t. I’m satisfied with what I viewed.
take down your product box that takes up half the video screen just stupid thumbs down man
poor you
Watching this there cannot be a favorite for me. It is all spectacular. Being a witness to this creation gives me much peace.
Joey Helms' roommate: "Hey Joey. Someone named Peter Jackson is on the phone for you..."
😂😂😂 he just did a phone prank on me
Just one word. PERFECT!!!
Waste of the technology - just as it gets interesting it flicks over to another view. I guess the operator must belong to the MTV generation with a 3-second attention span.
The volcano is yellow-hot when it's kicking off at the end. That is probably about as close as the drone would get before melting in mid-air. It would be struggling over the stream and the crater when it was dark and calm, no way he'd get much nearer than it was when it blew. It lived to fly another day.
I think it was edited for youtube and "smart" phone users of a certain age group (3 seconds might be a bit generous). That's where the most revenue comes from. Let's hope he posts a better (un-edited) version soon. Stunning video quality you must admit.
_" I guess the operator must belong to the MTV generation ..."_
Mmmkay, gramps. The "MTV generation," among whom I count myself, is in it's late 40s and 50s. Middle-aged. Guys with swollen prostates.
The short attention span kids are young Millenials and GenZ.
