Some have an eye for action. But action carries itself. You, on the other hand, have an eye for beauty. And transporting that to the viewers is a very rare talent, and I consider it art.
@paulrandig absolutely breathtaking. "Awesome" is a word used when it shouldn't be, but Gylfi's work is truly awesome. Much love for the calm place you send us to in this crazy world we live in. 🇬🇧
Gylfi you’re the best. Incredible drone footage, and you crack me up every time. I’ve set my google travel app to check for cheaper flights to Iceland for the next hundred million years. Best channel on UA-cam.
If I have to wait that long to be able to afford a flight to iceland, I probably have to keep watching your videos instead of going so thanks for all your wonderful videos!
Anyone can point a camera, but few can capture such beauty, provide an interesting and informative commentary and sneak in such lovely humour. Thank you Gylfi.
Please show us more of the thermal drone footage. You show us so much of the beautiful countryside but there is so much that the human eye can't see. Thank you for all your hard work with so many hours spent on the road. Take care.
Gylfi, your videos are stunningly amazing, showing us the after effects of all the "orange stuff" that squirts out of the ground, and how it has filled many of thousands of year-old cracks, and fissures. While we have seen plenty of the recent volcano shots from others, but not the after shots, and your videos does much of that. Your drone videos are top-notch, not following the usual crowd sets you far beyond, and that does us viewers justice, filling our curiosity of the changes of the landscaping in the area of the most recent eruptions. Beautiful work, stay with it, and again, thank you for being you, and doing your thing! Best wishes from NW Arizona, USA.
Gilfy, some people may forget Grindavik but I never will. We drove past a bit of the outskirts on June 20 via a detour road on our way to Blue Lagoon. I wasn’t expecting to see any of it, but a sign said we were in Grindavik. Also, at 9:25 You did it again. You were showing a panorama of Katla. The lower elevations looked like an exquisite painting. My god your country is spectacularly beautiful. Totally unique like its people.
Thank you for your tireless efforts on behalf of those of us that are not able to see, or experience your magnificent country, I wish you well and look forward to next updates 💕
It's always a pleasure to get a new video from you. Some great photos in this overview, I look forward to the completed projects you've been mentioning.
Gylfi your footage is absolutely breathtaking thanks for sharing this on your fantastic channel. Which ever volcanoes goes first I'm sure you will be there to see it
Hello from Spain! I am a subscriber to your channel and I always watch it with great interest. I have traveled to Iceland several times and I am going to return at the beginning of October (because of my age, I think it will be my last trip, 😄) So this trip will be different, much more serene and emotional, I hope... Greetings!
Thanks for sharing your excellent video about so many places in Iceland. I hope you have a good backup system for all your files. We will be looking forward to seeing new videos from you when you have time to edit them. By the way, the Atlantic Ocean is getting wider over geological time faster than Iceland is growing, so the future will be longer travel.
I love that you are finding time for the "Before" shots. The videos are stunning. I do hope the fracture moves northeast where it can do the least amount of damage. I also like the idea of the building being used as a future museum. Great idea if it's safe of course. That would be a lot of inside area to work with, not to mention the crack being right there. Stay safe, have fun. I'm still praying for you to get a helper. I feel like that would free you up just to think. ❤ BTW: Geology Hub is in Iceland right now. I'm so happy for him to get up and personal with the area. Future video ... the two of you together?? I wish.
That last shot of the mountains, by the water with the tops covered by clouds, looks so lush and green. It looks like a tropical Pacific or Caribbean locale. Beautiful footage as always.
Beautiful update, thank you. Re Hekla: There have been reports of one of the rivers drying up recently which, in the past, has been a precursor of some "action" in the coming years. I have no further updates regarding its status though. Happy video editing.
Thank you ,wonderful footage as usual, every corner of your country is a feast for the eyes ,what a beautiful place to live and experience ,winter is coming already wow ! Very interesting update ,thanks and safe travels !
Hi there. I’m watching from east of Vancouver. I was lucky enough to be in Iceland this June. By some miracle we were able to drive past the outskirts of Grindavik on a detour road on our way to Blue Lagoon. The trip was a life changing experience. Stunningly beautiful, extremely well organized, high quality infrastructure, totally unique….. and all of that yummy geothermal to take advantage of!
The drone is an amazing tool and you use it well. I have great memories and a love for Iceland after two trips in 2017 and 2018. First trip (as independent, budget minded tourists) in fall was not enough so we returned for a longer trip exploring off the ring road in the “spring”. Oh my,such memories! Love your coverage. Thank you from Ca San Francisco Bay Area.
Thank you for your explanations and drone footage of volcanic features around your beautiful country. The scenery is breathtaking from the volcanoes, waterfalls, and geysers, but the intriguing thing for me is the icesheets and knowing there are volcanoes hidden beneath them. I look forward to more of your content in the future.
My father is Icelandic and I've vistied dozens of times. Your sense of humor and videography almost make it feel like I'm back there with my mama. Thank you!
Wonderful footage Gylfi, you weave a fabulous story about the past, present and potential future of Iceland with words and stunning pictures. I love that you keep coming back to highway 1 with the thermal camera-the previous footage from last year was fascinating and what persuaded me to subscribe … that’s an amazing story which I look forward to seeing more of in the future. As always you inform us about so much more than just the orange stuff. Thank you
Every time I watch one of your videos, I'm glad I have a large 4k monitor... absolutely stunning landscapes! Thank you for documenting and sharing them with us.
Thanks for your informative video. Just returned from my 4th trip to Iceland. Another great visit for scenery and meeting people from all around the world.
I just left Akureyri on my cruise ship on Sept 14th; winter was definitely arriving early! But the snow on the mountains and highlands was beautiful and visiting various waterfalls and geologic features in that weather made for some amazing images and a haunting landscape. I spent 3 amazing days in Iceland on our cruise and am excited to find a way to go back for longer next time. I can’t recommend a trip there highly enough! Love the channel and keep it up!!
I always look forward to your drone videos because you display the beauty of your land so well. No volcano necessary, just the awesome nature and play of light. Thank you so much.
I am amazed every time I see your videography, It is stunning , beautiful and scary at the same time, love your eye for beautiful landscape and sky's and so informative !! Thank you for another great video 📸 !! Have to say was worried for a bit about you
Absolutely beautiful shots you've taken again Gylfi. This was an interesting update, lots going on in Iceland at the moment. I love the idea of that football building being turned into a museum.
beautiful cinematography gylfi. i love watching your drone work and the thermal by the road [is the area expanding?] best wishes to you and your country with so many volcanos pending and may the weather cooperate with you and 3 wonderful shots with rainbows
Great update Gylfi. I especially liked the sun shining through the scattered cloud cover and bathing the green valley in moving light. You have the eye for stunning visuals. I agree with your approach to record as much as possible and have a reserve of footage to use in the future as Iceland is constantly changing.
Thank you! It's very time consuming to process my videos since I do it all the way and clean out noise as well, which takes a lot of computing power, my Mac works longer hours than me :)
Some have an eye for action. But action carries itself. You, on the other hand, have an eye for beauty. And transporting that to the viewers is a very rare talent, and I consider it art.

Absolutly. One of the reasons why it's so much fun watching the videos.😃🌻
Gylfi you’re the best. Incredible drone footage, and you crack me up every time. I’ve set my google travel app to check for cheaper flights to Iceland for the next hundred million years.

Strange and stunning landscapes, your country is breath taking. Best regards, and thank you.
Many thanks!
I think the idea to turn the sport hall into a museum is clever. As you say, no better way to show the forces at work.
Please show us more of the thermal drone footage. You show us so much of the beautiful countryside but there is so much that the human eye can't see. Thank you for all your hard work with so many hours spent on the road. Take care.
Thanks for your perspective and the wonderful views.
Thanks for watching!

Gylfi,
Thank you so much for your excellent video footage of your beautiful country. I visited last year and look forward to another visit very soon 😊
Many thanks! and welcome back to Iceland :)
So many good ones, but I think my favorite shot is the one of the, seems like, seven small cones or bubbling up of the lava there.
😊 appreciated :)

I’ve heard of Gimly! I have huge respect for what our prairie provinces contribute to our country.
Great footage from all over Iceland and so informative, as usual :) Thanks so much!
We await the next eruption come Nov or Dec.

interesting 3.1 eq near Drangey(?) not long ago - dont remember see many in that area
There was a M7 close by in 1963 but this is the westernmost part of the Tjörnes fracture zone. unusual to get so strong earthquakes there nowadays
Just love your videos!
Thanks so much!
Your videos and photography transport those of us who would otherwise never see Iceland as she truly is. Thank you!
