Buy the Merc, even to the 190 isnt a luxury car. Those engines can outlast us. That thing after autospa is gonna look impressive.
Being that clean, I'd expect the merc to bring good money. I'd drop $3K in a heartbeat & think I stole it if I actually got it for that price. It's about as slow off the line as a car can be, but once it's up to speed it will cruise all day at modern highway speeds, sip fuel, and be a very quiet & comfy ride. Damn, now I want it.....

Randy, you've always been a very private person when it comes to your family, which I respect. With the exception of a few occasions, you've kept your family out of the spotlight. Your fiance has never been seen on camera. I I bet many of us were never aware of your being a grandfather until recently. I respect that!
Manual 190D, that's a very rare combo, especially so clean and low mileage. Definitely throw a bid on it for Mikey!
Problem with those Buick Enclave/GMC Acadia/Chevy Traverses is they have major engine issues that result in catastrophic failure (GM 3.6 V6). Even if its been taken care of I would avoid it just because at that mileage unless they have replaced the motor it may not have long to live.

I had and Acadia and hated that thing. I still hate that thing and I got rid of it 9 years ago.

Hahaha loved the dramatic hood closing on the Lexus hilarious. Going through a depressing time at the moment. Out of all the UA-camrs I watch, Randy you and Derek of VGG garage make me laugh out loud sometimes and it's much needed lost my job a week ago and it's been hard to get out of bed sometimes. I'm gonna say the same thing I said to him, thank you man for bringing me joy at times when I feel all alone. Seriously man thank you guys for making me feel like we are friends or I have a friend that doesn't judge.

I love the old cars as well. I just restored a 2005 Dodge Neon SXT that was in rough shape, but it ran and drove perfect. I swapped interiors with a 2003, and threw a paint job on it, and new tires, brakes, and a radiator. Now I have a good looking kind of rare car, as not many were actually taken care of, and are in junkyards.
The Buick looks good, and if you were able to ensure she took care of it, would be perfect for her and your grandkids. You have to buy that Mercedes diesel Randy, and when you wanted to pass it on, Mike would most likely be happy to buy it from you, he'd love that as a daily driver.
Hi Randy, that enclave is nice, unfortunately they have some major engine/tranmission issues. In fact all of those bodystyle SUVs do (saturn outlook, gmc acadia, chevy traverse)
I'd stay far away from it

Love the Sentra and the 190D. You're right about the Nissan motor, it's a 1.6. They're unkillable and great little cars.
That 190D is a beauty. I have an '85 190E auto - the diesel 5 speed is a pretty rare combo and that color is perfect for it. I'd own that in a heartbeat.

I currently own a 2022 Buick Enclave and had a 2021 also. The 2008 would make your daughter a nice ride. We enjoy ours and like you said as long as you take care of it you shouldn't have any major problems and that's with any vehicle.
Hey Randy . For the Alarm in the vehicle. Place the key in the driver's door. Lock and un locks the door with the key. It should turn the alarm off.
Tbh I'm 19 and hearing that alarm brings back my childhood I used to hear that alarm all the time when I was a kid I haven't heard that alarm in like 9-10 years to most people that alarm is annoying but to the kids who grew up in the 2000's will probably feel the same way I do hearing that alarm

Awesome video Randy thanks for sharing. The CXL was the top of the line model in that year for the Buick. That 190 is a really nice car my uncle had one but in black and it was also diesel he had 475,390 miles on it and he was the original owner. It was in good condition as well. Anyways happy holidays to you and your family.
Those 190D in Portugal were used as Taxis and we still see 1 or 2 running as particular,they run forever,great cars for sure.

Totally agree! I'd love to see that 180D on the channel... Not a huge Benz guy, but that color has a significant meaning to me. My grandpa painted his 75 Impala basically that same color brown, I love it! And yes, it fits RIGHT in with your current fleet!
Also, Odyssey would be the most practical option for your daughter because Honda reliability... But I can see you being torn on that Buick, cause that thing is DECKED out AND has the room!

What a great video Randy! Really loved that diesel Mercedes in the end as well. That one would be great for you especially in that shape. A manual diesel Mercedes is pretty rare these days. That X5 is questionable and that is a shame to see that SC400 in that condition. The SC400 would of been great for the channel as well. You really should get that Mercedes though and enjoy it for a while. The Sentra was surprising to see as well. Would be worth it for a certain price. Loved the video as always!👍

What a great bunch of cars. My fleet of 6 cars currently includes a 2006 Sentra, which is pretty much the same as the 1996. What a great little car. Had a Benz very much like that one when they first came out in ‘84. Could barely get out of it’s own way but dead reliable. Buy ‘‘em all. Easy for me to say, right?
The Sentra brings back some good memories road trips to Colorado at one time we 3 of them in the family
That alarm going off was funny as hell, and it was running while going off, so I take it was an alarm only, and not an immobilizer.

Personally, I'm a big fan of longer videos. That interior on the Benz was filthy, yet looked near immaculate once cleaned. That car is a must have. The trunk space looked larger than the Toyota SUV seen earlier.

I'm wondering how many engine replacements for the Enclave to get to 200k? I wouldn't buy that headache. They are problematic.
The 3.6 GM is not a “great” motor. It’s got tons of timing chain issues.. with that mileage run a carfax and see if it’s been addressed. If not it’s a ticking time bomb, as is that transmission which is less than wonderful but not terrible .

The Enclave is a nice vehicle but has problems with the timing chain guides.
Love the buick enclave it’s nice. Who ever had it kept it maintained they may have done the timing chain too. A friend of the family has a traverse and hers still runs good no issues.
The BMW X5, 2004 obviously not has a touchscreen. There were no touchscreens around in cars at that time...

Lots of cool ideas for that SC400. Only came with automatic if you bought the V8 BUT the five speed WILL bolt to it. I recommend using the manual from a 3JZ fourth gen turbo Supra as that one got beefed up internals. You could then flip it for an insane amount of money because nobody got a manual with the V8 from the factory.
