40 km/h Crash-Test with Dummies

- Using dummies at an impact speed of 40 km/h, see the effects of a frontal accident, particularly when some of the occupants are not wearing their seatbelt. Note how the baby-dummy in the rear-facing child-seat in the front seat receives a violent impact from the airbag (the airbag opens at a speed over 300 km/h, and this is why rear-facing child-seats must always be secured in the rear seats). Note also the impact between the heads of the driver and rear passenger dummies.

Fun fact: Usain Bold runs on this speed
I've just sort of experienced this but the object was a moving bus- I'd say we both were doing 40km/hr. Luckily no flying babies to take my head off though. Didn't know that airbags deflated instantly :-/
Did this today. Were doing 50-60 km\h with seatbelts. The airbags did not deploy. Got a badly bruise knee/chest and forehead. Otherwise I'm fine. It's frightening...
is the wall ok?
was that normal?
In case if you were wondering, this what happens when hou don't wear a seatbelt.
These dummies are using the seatbelts. the problem here is the baby chair does not stand the Gs and break loose.
@@itabiritomg A year late, but:

anyone know how much it costs one of these babies for crash tests and where I can buy?
really need one: (
Its cheaper to make a real baby
I know an elderly couple who were stopped at the lights in their 2005 mazda demio & were hit from behind in a larger Nissan...some rear damage to their car but was still driveable & they told me the person that hit them from the rear only bent their number plate..now this is the thing .first the reckoned the guy hit them travelling at 100kmh & I told them both cars would be writeoffs & everyone dead..now they say it was about 70kmh...neither of the elderly couple or the younger guy that hit them from the rear suffered any injuries....so am I right in assuming that both vehicles would have been badly damaged & most likely people hurt or injured if the impact was 70kmh?
Thomas McGillivray sounds more like they were hit by a vehicle going at 20km/h
Even then, the other vehicle would crumple a bit
10km/h sounds most likely
The vehicle may have been at that speed a few seconds earlier but the rear car probably slammed on the breaks significantly decreasing the actual speed at the moment of impact.
Damn!! My heart got broken when I saw the beautiful rare Renault Safrane get destroyed! :'(
não está a 40 km-h. Esse é um crast test padrão a 40 mph, portanto 64 km-h
@HeySL87 driver in front would be probably also heavily injured by rear passenger.

Can a car hit a cow at 40 km/h and be a write off ..?
It's a 64km/h!!!
How many babies die each year from airbag impact?
ROFL!! LOOK AT THE BABY @ 0:09
low speed but the concrete made it much worse. At higher speed,if a car impacted a concrete, the driver wouldn't be recognized.
Why does the car have no doors and a roll cage?
That's not a roll cage. And I guess it doesn't have doors so we can see what's going on inside a bit better.
fly baby fly !!
that's what happened to me last night. slayy
