First let me say, I could live in that Lil French Store, it’s amazing. I love this piece and think you achieved that old worn , distressed look , we all are wanting. Great job. TFS😊😊
What a beautiful transformation!!! I have an old wood table that I bought unfinished back in 1985. After several different makeovers, I think it’s time for this one. Just need to pick up a couple of the paints that I’m missing and I can get it done. Also debating about redoing a couple small school chairs too. I love this so much!
Oooooo I love it!! That green speaks to my heart 💕 I just swoon over green tables and light fixtures and dishes!! Great job on your pretty little table!
I love the French music and shop tour! The tidbits and insights you share during your time in Copenhagen are wonderful for those of us who can't travel to distant lands like you're doing. Love the furniture makeovers as well. Thanks for sharing!
@@JunkdUp I would love it to look just like your table. Going to start in a couple of weeks and I will post a pic when done. Again, beautiful work, very impressed !!
Thank you for the sub. It’ll be a little bit before I post a new vid. We’re moving back to the states in 6 weeks so I’m busy running around and doing all the things before we leave. 😭
@@JunkdUp i know how that can be. my husband is British and i am American and we lived in London for a few years and really miss all of the things that make England, England. but after a few years i just wanted to come back here so we live on a NC beach. But i remember it took a few months for everything to come back from England on a cargo ship. still miss Europe. good luck with the move.
Loved how well that crackle & wax technique looked on this sweet table. Gosh, that was a decent price you paid. Prices have risen quite substantially on FB Marketplace in my neck-of-the-woods, and I've heard from others the same complaint. I'm assuming you are selling your pieces in Denmark? I wonder if your style translates well over there? Also, did you bring all your Debi's DIY paint with you? I thought that it is not yet available in Europe? Terrific video, really enjoyed it.
Thank you Sydni. I appreciate your kind words and your continued support. It means a lot to me. Facebook marketplace in Copenhagen is similar to US in that the prices are all over the place. I’m always on there looking for a good deal. It seems to me that in Copenhagen at least the older style furniture isn’t all that popular. They lean towards a more modern aesthetic or an MCM type vibe. So these sweet little pieces I can pick up pretty inexpensively. I’ve only sold one piece here. I listed one other piece (that cabinet with the decoupage from another video) but it hasn’t sold so I just took it off marketplace. I’m not sure my style translates here. I did bring all my DIY Paint with me. It isn’t available in Europe. I’m still a retailer. My vendor mall owners allowed me to keep my space while I’m abroad. I manage inventory from here and place orders to be delivered to the store and they unpack it for me. It’s been great. And when I need something I bribe my girl child who’s in college stateside to send me what I need. I’m not sure what I’m going to do once I run out of space for finished pieces! I’ll have to sell things eventually!
Please tell me how did you get DIY paint in Europe...when I was asking in the US store they didn't agree to send to Europe...only in States and Australia, that's what I heard...please let me know, because I dream of them
Love it! That vintage green has been my favorite color for decades. I love your heavy distress. I'm an American living in Italy. As you're a DIY retailer, would it possible to buy from you? I didn't realize it was available anywhere in Europe. Do you have a store? Do you ship to Italy. That's my last question. Honest.
DIY Paint isn’t available anywhere in Europe. I’m a retailer but I retail in the US. I was a retailer before I left for Denmark and I was able to continue. I’m heading back to the states in July. I have a store within a store in Indiana. I will also sell online through my website again when I return to the states. I’m happy to ship to Italy but the shipping and customs fees might be exhorbitant. I love Denmark, and Europe in general, and don’t want to leave. But… the job we are here for was finite and we knew we’d be going back to the states.
I also don’t think I’m doing a good job of explaining 🤣. I can ship to Italy from the US when I get back there in July. I don’t retail DIY Paint in Europe. I hope that clarifies.
@@JunkdUp Hi--thanks so much for your response. Sadly, you won't be able to ship the paint from the States. I was told it's not allowed. How in the world did you manage to get it over to Denmark? Annie Sloan can ship paint here, or at least she could before the stupid UK voted for Brexit. There are two retailers that here that sell her paint. I can also get Dixie Belle paint here in Tuscany. I'm not sure how that was managed as the paint comes from the States. I'm sorry you have to go bak to the States. In October I will have been here for 20 years. That seems impossible to me. There are many things I miss about the States. My friends of course, but also Manhattan and the New England woods. I doubt I'll ever go back to live there. Have never been to Denmark. For years it's been voted the happiest country in the world. I look forward to seeing more of your videos. I can't believe you manage to haul furniture without even a car. You're a formidable woman! Thanks again for getting back to me. I really appreciate it.
I did a quick search and it should be possible to ship DIY Paint internationally. It’s water based and non flammable so not a hazardous material. I know another DIY Paint retailer who ships paint to international customers. I’m sorry I have to go back also but we knew all along we’d only be here for a finite period of time. It’s just unfortunate all of my time here was during stupid Covid with lockdowns and travel restrictions. My husband and I are planning a northern Italy trip at the conclusion of our time in Denmark before we head back to the states.
I am so glad to have just stumbled upon your channel and this video, and love your technique for distressing. I also like that your are in Europe and replicating their distressed look. It is amazing what layering paint and using different colors will produce. I am returning to painting furniture after many years and am inspired by so many artists for different effects, using different techniques and methods. I really like what you achieved in this video and got a lot out of it. Thank you!

How did you get DIY paint in Europe?
I brought it with me. I only lived in Copenhagen for two years. During that time I was able to continue being a DIY Paint retailer in the US.
What is that round brush you used for your dark wax and where can I get one?
It’s a brush for shoe wax 😂
You can get them on Amazon

And the big brush makes a nice buffing brush to buff out your wax finish
