my brothers and I, 25, 27 and 34 poured 26.5 yards in NOVEMBER, after Thanksgiving. Our first project ever on our own. Unfortunately, its easy to want to be in business but hard to have constant work. Our goal is to obtain at least 3-4 jobs per month and I would be happy! I love the work, the hustle and additional knowledge!
Looks Great! I would recommend using a chair or rebar support to keep the rebar in the upper third of the slab as the workers stepping on it pushes it back to the bottom.
Love your videos David. A tip for you on your equipment . Run 2 Oz. of Marvel Mystery Oil in the gas and diesel for every 5 gallons of fuel. You will never have gummed carburetors or fuel injectors. Note do not use it in any diesel equipment that has SCR exhaust (DEF). For modern equipment that has SCR exhaust after treatment I recommend Power Service Diesel Kleen.
Try seafoam in the gas tank, it's a product you can get off of Amazon and other places. It should clean the carb and it help stabilize fuel also. Worth a try before you have to get a new carb for the float.
It's funny you say that, it's often cheaper to just buy a new carb off of amazon or ebay rather then pay someone to rebuilt the current one. Because I found that to be very true. $35 bucks for a new carb and $75 or $80 to have a repair shop fix the current one.
Have you ever put Elmer's glue in your concrete my grandfather lived in Cypress he lived in Long Beach and he was a concrete guy he did driveways and block walls he put Elmer's glue and his mix I don't exactly know how much because I was only like 7 8 years old when I was working with him he didn't really teach me how to do it to mix the concrete and all that had a flatbed truck had his own Sand and gravel and then this man you know he pulled a cement mixer behind his truck myself I grew up in lake Elsinore from 1965 it's a 1987 is when I lived there but anyhow thank you for your videos I do enjoy watching them
I’m a concrete finisher from Louisiana, our way of doing some things compared to some of yours and other folks’ work from other places make me feel like we are still cavemen in comparison. Lol It’s really cool to learn little tricks here and there from all you guys. Would like to know where to get that edger trowel thing. That’s pretty nice
This is just so fascinating to watch & it turned out beautiful as usual. I really enjoy your explanations of what’s happening and why. Very glad I found your channel. I have a question: after power washing my driveways here in central Texas (high plains/hill country) my concrete is very rough and difficult to sweep so I’m wondering if there is a coating I might be able to put on it to help?
That is an awesome broom for them longer pads there Dave. I've never done anything longer than 28 feet. But I think it would be a good investment to get one
I walk by commercial jobs and study the cut marks and analyze what they could have done better because the sidewalks crack, but not on the cut lines. Some guys don't put enough thought into where to place their cut lines. Settling and drainage play a big part in controlling cracks down the road.
I really like that brush you used, the amount of times I’ve struggled using 5 poles on a Fresno brush set up in a confined space, this may be the next investment 👍, good job you and your boys did here. Also do you know if this slab suffered with cracks off the steel uprights to the saw cuts ??
Doing a 32'x16' foot area in our backyard and we are going to use Quickrete that we pour into forms that we bought. Should gravel and sand be put down on top of the dirt prior to pouring into the forms?
Palm trees swimming pools and sun your lucky but do you have to use retarders in the concrete stop it setting to quick must be a nightmare with so much sun .opposite to us in wales it rains all the time .loved the series and very nice work love the tools out there in the US aswell. Good luck 👍 🏴💯
Nice work

It's concrete glue.
I use it in a lot masonry stuff

you should come down to south Florida and show them how to actually pour and do concrete correctly. You would do more than well.

I heard about a month after the job was completed that there were no cracks yet

I wonder why you don't use a power screed? Looks like hard work doing it manually with two people...
This just fits the area better

Depends where your at and soil conditions?
