I enjoy every video you produce. The work is magnificent, professional and so attractive when done. More than that it is technically correct, finish, slope, slump and other critical details. And I think best of all is you David being an example to your men, sharing your extensive skills and good demeanor right in there with working hard along with them. Keep it up I am a HUGE fan and love to see a new video coming!
Thanks John
I've always been a fan of doing what you would expect of others.

Wish I could find someone who took as much care and pride in their work where I live

great series ... love all the series ... your kiddo makes great vids tooo ... the sound is good ... the advice is good ... the voice over is perfect. Cheers and Happy NEW YEAR!
Glad you like them!
Beautiful
Thank you! Cheers!
Again Excellent work sir
Yes what you said about the dowl bar's rusting and causing problems years later In Australia we now use Galvanised Dowls
Fibreglass Reo?? That new to me
Galvanized below grade rust also, maybe try stainless steel
I’m in concrete repair. I liked your suggestion about using fiberglass for pinning instead of metal. I’m going to use it in my next video. There are no artisans in my area that are on your level...
glad I could help.

Very nice job !!
Thank you very much!
Great video
Glad you enjoyed it
Nice job
Thank you! Cheers!
Man I wish you guys were here in Nova Scotia ... amazing work

Another great video. Thanks. One question, though? How do you determine the spacing of your rebar? I really have not seen anyone go more than 18" o.c., especially on driveways. Is it because you add fiber mesh that allows you to space your rebar 2 feet?
I figure something is better than nothing. Its optional, not a requirement.
Great job on this one and I enjoy watching your videos. Quick question though, are there no requirements in your area to maintain a certain percentage of permeable ground on residential sites? In other words grass, rocks, or anything that water can penetrate? This back yard looks like it will be about 98% concrete. I’m assuming that there just isn’t much rain where you are at, but down south we are limited to certain percentages of the overall lot to be able to cover with concrete. Just wondering if it’s a Cali thing where there is not as much rain as say Florida, Georgia, South Carolina etc. Thanks in advance if you could provide some feedback.
Yes there is.
30 70%
so far we have covered about 40%
including the structure
nice valley. rinse water went right for it
Exactly, I even was a little surprised of how fine of line the water ran in
Nice job top
Thank you! Cheers!
nice!
TY
great job! was wondering why you didnt cut the concrete the day before? or do you just find it easier using the machine to cut?
Nothing other than saw cuts retain less dirt and water, which in turn causes staining, erosion, and water could freeze in a large joint causing spalling.
Another great video. What’s the difference between saw cutting the next day and actually making joints the day of pour?
Nothing other than saw cuts retain less dirt and water, which in turn causes staining, erosion, and water could freeze in a large joint causing spalling.
Will you be putting cool deck on that top part? Nice job guys!
Probably not, the deck is in good shape.
Pretty dry concrete that day huh,you guys worked it like a champ though!
Yes it was!
I like it that way
were did u buy the stamps for your job? great jod all the best of this new year to u family sn workers
Thank you! You too!
Did you put fiber in the concrete or did you rely on just the re- bar this time
I added fiber into the load on arrival.
You always seem to Amaze me Odell, great job brother, keep them videos coming. Btw where do you buy your finishing tools??
Roseburrough Tools
@@OdellCompleteConcrete thanks 🙏🏽,man prices did go up in that spot but it’s worth it.
true
Nice work as always.
I want to pour up against a fence like you did w a short retaining wall. I’m concerned about locking in the 4x4 posts for life lol. Is that a concern or not?
On to your next video to watch and learn :)
Not really, the post footings are below the new concrete.
TY
@@OdellCompleteConcrete Could they be replaced if I need to in future?
Yes
Did you had a expansion foam to this part of the house if not why? I’m curious 1:56
NO foam on this side. Small area
If only I knew where I could get fiber mesh delivered to my doorstep and what kind of broom to use this video would be complete ;)
Horsehair brooms work.
rebar will also rust if its not 3" from the form boards since you mentioned the concern . you may not be rusting at the joint but you will be at the forms edge. secret for secret =)
That's true
Hey Dave, so when you add the fiberglass...is there a ratio for how much you add? Can one add too much fiberglass?
I add a 1/2lb to 1 lb. Per yard
@@OdellCompleteConcrete Great. Thank you so much!!
You can really see that cold joint
Yes
Another great series and thanks for sharing, you look really young without the 🧔♀
Oh thank you!
👍👍
8:10 That plastic composite is the cheaper type of Trex decking material.
Sounds good
TY
If the drains back up aren’t thr drains too close to the foundation and can cause water getting into the house - crawlspace?
NO crawl space.
The house slab is about 6"s above the drain
@@OdellCompleteConcrete ahh good to know.
👍
Hi mr. I have a question where do you buy the bull nose forming foam?
Roseborogh
@@OdellCompleteConcrete thanks a lot
Do you guys have Boom pump trucks out there? Just wondering cause I have never seen you use one
Yes we have them, but I don't use them over houses .
@@OdellCompleteConcrete cool. I was just curious. Booms are mostly what they use here in Utah... when they use a pump. I drive ready mix in utah
The boom is much easier than the big rock line pump.
I love your vids man.
Did anybody ever told u that your voice is meditative. If I want to relax I watch one of your vids.
Beside the point that I enjoy it professionally (I'm a handy man, and every man love to watch other man working.), I have no knowledge what so ever about concrete, so here is my question. Way there is the need to cut along the finished pour. how dos it stop the concrete from cracking? and what will happened if u don't cut and from time to time u fix the crakes? because in my opinion it is nicer when its in one piece with out the cutting.
Thanks
By the way , the level that you got that made in Israel is a plain level. there is nothing spatial abut it. and u can by it in every hardware store.
My understanding is that it isn't stopping the concrete from cracking, it's actually leading the concrete to crack at the saw cut. The thinner concrete there acts as a stress or strain relief, triggering the crack inside the cut, where it isn't noticeable. Instead of it happening out in the open, in the 'field'.
Concrete always cracks, the trick is to control where it cracks. The why the weakened plain joints.
I've never seen one of those levels maybe I've not been looking. Someone said in the comment section that they are from the 80's and 90's?
@@OdellCompleteConcrete lol. cold b from the 80's and 90's?
thsnks
Hi Dave...what would be a good alternative to "Knee Skids"? I don't use them all the time so don't really want to invest to much money. Thanks! Stay Safe.
chunks of plywood
@@OdellCompleteConcrete Should I soak them in anything before laying them in the concrete so it don't stick? Thanks!
What’s the supplier where you got the patio cover?
Patio direct
why no expansion joint against the building ?
No need
@@OdellCompleteConcrete Why it is not needed in this case?
Why don't you vibrate the air out of the concrete?
No air in this mix
dry broom + rough finish wet broom = smooth finish
Sounds good
Have you ever done a Dome House?
no
I want a knife. Good job
TY
How many truck loads were used in all of this? 😬

1 4 3 Dave and Timonthy !!!
Getting it on
OSS
Every step in Pennsylvania had a bullnose
Nice touch
Why ru using a level to pull back the concrete...
These Milwaukee Red Sticks are designed for that
@@OdellCompleteConcrete ohhh okay
its a shame they didn't sand the rust off that metal fence and paint it before you did your work.. now they have to put tarps down.. looks good .. bullnose came out good.. catch you next time
Thats good because it's easier to lay tarps on the ground rather than on the fence.
TY
How much for this project cost labor and supply
6500
We cAn do option financing? Does visit estimate is free charge?
Sweet
Do you service located in Beaumont CA?
Wait where's part three?
Coming soon
The fence looks like hell
There's more concrete in Cali backyards than the tarmac at LAX.
You need that for your helicopter pad in order to bypass the traffic
3rd 👍
Sweet video
Yes ! Thank you for your consistency
Screeding is an art. It's truly a shame that people have no idea how difficult the concrete slab they're walking on at say home depot or chik fillet was to pour out and finish so beautifully.
I just had to say, the guys out on the knee boards are the real mofos.
For sure
Bro - that is a DECKing board - Trex - are you kidding that you don't know what it is?
I use what works for me not what it was intended for.
What slump are you pumping at ?
You don't seem to be using mesh stools in your slab !, how do you control mesh height in slab ?
You guys seem to run very labour intensive practice relying on personal skills rather than mechanisation methods using trowelling machines, is that an American thing or just round your neck of the woods ?
I pull the reiforcement up as we pour.
Why do you guys leave so much wholes when screeding, why not fill the holes before screeding the next part.
I didn't notice that
David maybe I'm losing my mind but it seems like a lot of your videos are being removed by UA-cam for some reason. I swear I saw the next video posted for this only to disappear
You may be right
