A year or so ago I needed to get and learn a video editing and production system QUICK! I'd worked in the music business for 15 years so I wasnt a total editing n00b but my first day sitting in front of DaVinci was a nightmare. Then... I found your videos. Now, I use it every single day and I'm pretty happy with where I'm at. I like the Fairlight system but I have to work a bit more on my Fusion knowledge. So yeah, thanks Casey!
Jason Yadlovski has a Fair light audio course that is relatively cheap (I started the course at it's beginning but I think it's under $100) and it's really good
Not only is this video unbelievable to start understanding Fusion, but as a Coach myself, I learned a ton about how to coach and communicate with a student, it was awesome!
Understanding how to *order* the inputs/processes/outputs is key to understanding Fusion. I've struggled with it for a month or so... I hope I remember how to do things tomorrow!
Thank you Casey - this gave me the confidence to try things in Fusion and rectify the mistakes I made on the way. BTW Ctrl Z is the most useful key combination ever. 🙂
This was a great share. I found it incredibly useful and thank you for sharing it and thank you to the lady you taught for presumably funding the lesson? :)
Nobody Explains when you first create a Fusion clip which by default adds to the Media Pool that it is useless from the point on and doesn't save anything as where what is on the time line is the saved version and if you remove it from the time line your work is gone. But you can copy it from the timeline to the timeline for a copy that from that point on it is its own version that can be edited separate from the original version on the timeline. cheers.
10:31 Can somebody help me finding how he did to automatically preview the selected node (not the final output)? I've tried clicking on any node but nothing changed
Not sure about automatic, but selecting the node then hitting 1 on the keyboard will show that node in preview screen 1 and 2 would put it on preview screen 2. I'm pretty sure he used the keyboard shortcut.
I understand all of the logical. But i still don't see one point i don't see anywhere yet : how do you know when the effects do effect ? I mean i have a fusion on a video or sequence of 6 seconds. But i want it to begin 2 seconds after the sequence start. How do i do that ? I never opened DaVinci Resolve, it is maybe why i don't see that.
You make great videos, thanks. I have an issue with keyframing in fusion you might be able to help me with. I'm trying to keyframe an image using the 3Dplane node. I'm able to keyframe the first section and everything comes out on the mediaout just fine. When I try to keyframe the image a few seconds later it sets the keyframes and it shows the red, blue and green mover moving like I want it to with the 3Dmerge selected but in the mediaout window the image just sits there. What am I doing wrong? I even tried to use a 3Dtranform node instead of the 3Dplane and the same thing, it shows the mover tool moving but that's it. If you could help that would be appreciated
"Purposefully kind of annoying" - exactly how I would describe Fusion. This is 100% why people will start with and stay with Capcut unfortunately. But I'm still trying to learn! 😂
Liar!😪 is not 56 minutes lenght! is only 55 min and 56 seconds! bring us the 4 seconds back! there are a big fusion secrets! and you keep it for you! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
DaVinci should enable History in Color page, and undo option in multiple clip edit. and you paid youtubers must address this. How can a person ruin a whole project by pressing only one button with no undo option. Otherwise they must put a warning that "The changes will not be Undone"
What I don't understand is the bread/recipe analogy. You can't really put any more ingredients in or change the amount of salt you put in, or bake it a little different, after something is made or baked, can you :D in fusion you can. I feel like this is rather confusing me than making it make sense :D
The trick to making bread is very low expectations. I have a friend to makes break on a regular basis in spite of the fact that it's usually difficult to chew. But does that stop him? NOOOooooo...
Thanks for sharing so much information about Davinci Resolve. I have taken your premium course on editing for UA-cam. It is best money that I have spent for filmmaking. You and your team are so good to break things down to digestible pieces. 100% would recommend it

You are an excellent educator! Thanks for that!
This is the first video you should watch before you jump into Fusion. Thank you!
This video answered so many Qs that I was stuck at. Thank you for making this great tutorial.
the way of Casey teaches...from the past 10 years its really appreciating
Understanding how to *order* the inputs/processes/outputs is key to understanding Fusion. I've struggled with it for a month or so... I hope I remember how to do things tomorrow!
Knowing Scratch (coding for kids) has made Fusion concepts simpler to understand. Thanks for this course. I look forward to the "big" course next.
This is great! Love the format Casey
Such a simple way to explain fusion ! Loved it !
Well done lady!
More free video on fusion is all we need
Not sure who was more excited at the end! Thank you for sharing this Casey, really helpful :)
This video helps me in a lot way, this is the video I'm waiting for. Thanks Casey!

This was a great share. I found it incredibly useful and thank you for sharing it and thank you to the lady you taught for presumably funding the lesson? :)

Nice video! For the record: knead

How about a Gantt chart for Fusion?
“Explain this to me like I’m 5” -Michael Scott
Why do my images seem to stop working once I built them and then put their elements in an underlay?
watched all the ads without skipping. Thank you!
every Saturday at some point I have to "open in the con-fusion page" 🤣
😭😭 great joke
Do you think they might add the Fusion page to the iPad version of DaVinci Resolve?
I understand all of the logical. But i still don't see one point i don't see anywhere yet : how do you know when the effects do effect ? I mean i have a fusion on a video or sequence of 6 seconds. Use blend in the settings of the effect you are using. Hope it helps.
Did you place it in a fusion composition?
You make great videos, thanks. I have an issue with keyframing in fusion you might be able to help me with. I'm trying to keyframe an image using the 3Dplane node. Is the part about animating the Subcribe button using the Transform node missing from this video?
so what happens if you create stuff in fusion and then want to carry on in the time line, because the fusion part wont appear??
You need to create a fusion composition. So when you do your stuff in it then you can place it on the timeline.
"Purposefully kind of annoying" - exactly how I would describe Fusion. This is 100% why people will start with and stay with Capcut unfortunately. But I'm still trying to learn! 😂
EN TUS FUSION, TOCAS Y TOCAS ÍCONOS Y NO NOS DICEN CUÁLES Y POR QUÉ. QUEDAMOS COMO EL TERNERO.

Would watch it if it was 53 minutes or less!
