    Casey, this is one of the best tutorials for a beginner because you explain why. You make it make sense. You stress the importance of mastering the basics first. This is so good in so many ways. Master class!

    Yes please, if you have the time, make a part 2 of this video to go over the rest of the animation. Also if you wanted to cover how you configured the different nodes that would also be great. I used the same node tree as you did, but I could not figured out how to animate the clouds background and I ended up with a static black and white image of the clouds with the ripple effect. It did not merge over the blue background, even though my node connections were exactly the same as yours.

    • @sebastianalexander8993
      @sebastianalexander8993 4 місяці тому

      you didnt animate the clouds with keyframes and didnt configurate the apply mode of merge node to ''screen''

    Okay. I think I've found my fusion teacher. How do I know? Because i didn't click off at the first mention of fusion and I watched the video all the way through without feeling overwhelmed once and without feeling the need to flee a fusion video. Breaking the confusion tab down to the fusion by explaining how fusion *actually* works was my little miracle take away. When I better understand the Edit and Fairlight tab and I'm ready for Fusion, I will start that journey with this cat, clouds and blue tutorial. Heartfelt thanks Casey from a curious 73 year old youngster.

    I'm only 69 and have been messing with Resolve for a few years now but this video really brought it back to logical Fusion basics - very helpful and I will watch again and probably multiple times. Thank you.
    (And yes I've used Fusion a bit but never really totally "get" the order of nodes up to now).

    Wonderful. I don't even bother with the Fusion page anymore because it never made sense to me. This video simplified everything, making it as easy as cutting a video. You've just eliminated a years of frustration for me. Play do a part two

    When i read the title, i jumped in thinking this was going to address the rasterisation issues when you scale something down, add an effect node such as blur (even if you turn the blend to 0) and scale it back up, you would have lost quality as anything other than merges or XF transforms rasterises the input
    Then i realised this is a channel for beginners halfway through the video lol
    Though it did seem like one of the better ones of that category

    Casey, thank you, for explaining the process and steps. Too often the vloggers just mouse click ding ding ding ding ding mouse here and there and the viewer has no ability to grasp anything. What I would like to see are ready made samples of different exercises, like a follow along workbook of sorts. Thereby teaching the user and not inundating them with mouse trails and click click clicks. Learning Fusion takes time, and quite frankly, even the BM tutorials for a beginner are hard to follow along. I for one have stayed away from Fusion for that simple fact - no one took the time to talk about and start at the beginning -like talk to me like I was a two year old golden retriever.
